I have looked and asked, apparently in the wrong place, for help on removing music, MP3's and other files on an Archos JukeBox. I have checked different converters but nothing is rearing it head for me. I have disconnected from the net and tried the install without updating. Still no go!
If I use a commercial software like Drive Scrubber to clean my HD, will a Win 7 Upgrade Discboot ? I want to eliminate any possible virus/malware. Is there any advantage to using commercial software to format, or is the reinstall format listed in the tutorials as effective? My concern is that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (KIS) had corrupted data bases and after removal and reinstallation did not perform well. I could not download anything, e.g. CCleaner and received Certificate Error questions on certain websites. Also, I would like a fresh registry to insure previous programs like Chrome, Firefox, KIS, remnants are eliminated.
Can I format a Hard Drive with Windows 7 using a 2000 format disk. If so, what are the prompts i see and action on boot-up before I use the format C. Done it before but just forgot
I have a few questions and one of them is, what is the difference between an unconditional format and a diskpart's Clean All in the command prompt. When I read their definitions online I don't know what they differ in.
how i can format my pen drive if window 7 and XP is unable to format it. they are saying files are in use. i have kept window xp, photoshop and some other software in it. Now please tell me how can i delete these items or format it.
I am giving Fedora (Ext4) the boot from my 150G VelociRaptor and replacing it with Windows 7.What is the difference between a 'Quick' format and a 'Full' format. Does a quick format simply rewrite the FAT and a full format write 0's to the sectors? The reason I ask, is that I am concerned that the Linux Ext4 formatting may leave artifacts which I can do without. So, bite the bullet and go the long route, have lunch and a nap or take the quick way out?
I have a Dell Inspiron 15. I can run Oblivion on my computer, but I can't run Fallout 3. It installs fine, but when I get to the starting menu and try to start a new game, it crashes.
I am attempting to uninstall (and then reinstall) Office 2010 Prof Plus. I am not able to remove it from Add/Remove programs, have read through some help info and attempted to use the Windows Fixit, Revo & Ripoutoffice2007, none of which have removed it (Revo didn't take it out and then pulled up a million 'left over' files, none of which I deleted).
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either.
I have a laptop HP PAVILION tx2550er. After installing AMD AHCI driver in the system tray shows the Safely Remove Hardware icon (my hard drive). How to remove (not hide!) the icon?
Alright. So I finally got my new computer and slapped Windows 7 Pro x64 on it. Since my case has a slot to plug in an external drive, I used AHCI-mode to support hot-swapping. (And yes, I actually will use it)
Unfortunately, this has caused the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon to appear continuously in the system tray - giving me the option to eject my system drive. Being the minimalist I am, this useless icon annoys me to no end. Is there any way to tell windows not to add the HDD to the safely remove hardware menu (and thus make the menu disappear when there's no other devices)? I've been looking around and can't find any solutions.
I am NOT looking to disable the safely remove hardware entirely - I still want it to show up for other devices, just not the system drive. Also, I don't want to just hide it with the expand/collapse menu - call me picky.
How can i remove JUST the program from the list, without actually uninstalling it?Ive tried going toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall but i cannot find the program i want to do this to.
I have a flash drive and when I want to open it it only want to format. I really need that data on the flash drive, is there like a back up program for that or a way to get by the format?
For some reason my hDD on a USB 3.0 hub's partition info is now RAW and when I plug in the drive windows says I need to format it.Ive ran the program Active Partition Recovery and the file systems are RAW, within the "tree" of the program I CAN navigate through the folders and find all my data - I just cant save it using that program. So the data is still there I just need an easy program to get it. Ive tried Easus to get it but fails. I believe there's a CRC error on the drive but cant check it with CHKDSK as "the drive is not recognised".
I just installed a second ssd drive but my system does not recognize it. I am new at this and i need to know what to do to set it up. I have window 7 and an asus p8p67 deluxe motherboard. I already have 2 other drives.
I want to format one of my drives, recently got a new laptop but kept the old hard drive but now have 2 drives when i go to format the old one with all my old stuff it says its in use ?
I've had the ramnit virus on my computer. Long story short, i had to nuke my laptop to get rid of it. My problem is that the virus is on the USB stick. So is there anyway i can format the USB stick without the virus jumping onto my laptop?
My system got infected with some kind of virus, which severely slowed down the PC and caused me a lot of frustration. So I simply installed Win 7 on my H: drive. Now I want to completely format the C: drive, the location of the previous Win 7 install. During the install itself, for some reason there was no option to format the C: drive and re-install the windows there. And now that I'm trying to format C: drive, I get an error message: 'Windows was unable to complete the format'.
How can I wipe clean the C: drive and keep it for general use, with the Win7 now on my H: drive?
using windows 7, I recently sent a picture with print (attatched it to email) it was sent in jpg and sender could open it today I sent a similar document w/picture (saved the very same way, or so I think) and it was unreadable in ccf mode.

I have a Windows XP PC which I want to completely delete everything and throw it in the garbage. Problem is the CD-rom drives do not work and I can't boot from USB (no option in BIOS).... I've already deleted personal files from the computer to the recycle bin and used Eraser to securely delete it. I want to completely delete everything (like a complete reformat) ---- within the OS or by other means.... how can I do this?
