When I run the prograsm I get the typical "Preparing to install..." abnd then tyhe 'Configuring Weatherbug. I've been in contact with Weatherbug Support all day and we can't seem to find an answer.I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials.This is a clean install of Windows 7. I haven't used any other real-time security software other than MSE.I disabled MSE and tried it and got the same results.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Windows Ultimate (x64).I use the Asus Suite II supplied with my Asus Asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 Motherboard (which I like for fan and temperature monitoring) Ai Suite II always loads BUT "on screen" it is messy during loading because a seemingly AI Suite bar sized white artefact appears top left of screen for 10- 20 seconds before disappearing when the AI suite icon appears in the notification tray. Sometimes a white square also appears temporarily.I have noted that if I exit Ai Suite II and reload via the Asus AI suite supplied Shortcut I never get these artefacts AND the suite loads instantaneously (I note however Asus uses AI Suite II.exe via the shortcut but via the Asus installed Task Schedule it open via "AsRoutineController.exe -open"I have also tried unloading AI Suite II and AsRoutineController.exe and loading AsRoutineController.exe and it too loads cleanly and almost instantaneously.
1) Why does Asus use the Task scheduler instead of loading via the normal Windows Startup procedures?
2) Could it be so each can be easily disabled if required) and is that the ONLY reason?
3) what is the -open switch in the command line?
4) Is there ANY good reason why I should not disable the AI Suite II in the Task Scheduler and add it the the Normal Windows Startup applications I use the Free version of Startup Delayer as it has served me wonderfully with my current Win 7 O/S (and my previous XP) in ensuring all desired Notification Tray Icons display EVERY time).
Today I PROVISIONALLY made the change and AI Suite II opens cleanly (as other Startup apps) without temporary white artefacts and with no noted side effects so far. I am nervous however, to make it permanent without advice from knowledgeable Seven Forums members on this subject
I have a program that can only run on 64-bit computers, and my 32-bit computer won't run it. Is there any way to convert the program to 32-bit?(there is no 32-bit version of this program). EDIT: I made a mistake in the title.

In file associations it shows that .vob is linked to powerdvd. Is there a way so that when I doubleklick the dvd I want to play powerdvd is started.

Without giving me the option to say do NOT make any changes--for each of the two dialog boxes, I said just close the program--the PCA popped up saying it had applied a compatibility fix! (In the past on older OS's under similar circumstances, I would simply reboot and things would be OK afterwards WITHOUT having my system changed.)
How do I see what change(s) were made and, hopefully, undo them so I can reboot my system and see if the trouble reoccurs?

I just reinstalled itunes but when it prompts me to change itunes to the default program to use for audio files, I click yes and nothing happens. It prompts me every time I open itunes. I went to control panel -> programs -> default programs -> set default programs and itunes wasn't there. I then went to ->associate a file type or protocol with a program but when I tried to change the default program for .mp3 the following happened:
- I double click .mp3
- I click browse
- Secondary Drive -> Itunes -> Itunes.exe
- I arrive at the screen that popped up after I double clicked .mp3 and itunes isn't on the list.
I tried going to a random .mp3 file and changing its default program but the same thing happened. I googled what to do and I looked for a software that would change the default program for filetypes and I used both. They didn't work. I tried the following:
a. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
b. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer
c. In the right side of the screen double click on "NoFileAssociate".
d. Change the value of "NoFileAssociate" from 1 to 0. If the value is not present, create a DWORD value and enter the valaue data as 0.
e. Exit Registry Editor and Restart the computer and check.
But I didn't seem to have the nofileassociate part in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer
My itunes and safari icons have both changed to a completely unrecognisable icon. I cannot run either of this programs on my computer. I have tried reinstalling but this didnt work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI started installing Veoh Web Player but decided to abort the installation. Now, every time I boot up, I get a message asking: A previous software installation was not completed. Would you like to continue installing Veoh?
I've tried everything I can think of. Even installed Veoh. But kept getting the message, even after Veoh was installed. Then I removed Veoh using uninstall in Control Panel and I still get the message every time I start up.
I installed a program to my main user account which is an administrator account. When I click on the program to open, the mouse pointer changes like the program is going to load and then it stops. I logged into my second user account which is also an administrative account and the program opens without any problems.

How do I disable this feature? I don't want to see the little arrows, all I do is open the programs, the arrows sometimes get in the way and annoy me. I don't like the way Windows 7 show me the "startup menu"... what I mean is I don't want to see the few software or document i've open recently when I press the "Windows icon" (aka Start).
I need to press "Show all programs" to see all my folder. Even if I go in the config of the toolbar, and I choose 0 to see the last program (by default is 10), it's only show a big white startup menu, but i need again to click (or leave my mouse for few second) the "show all program".
I just want to know of there is a way to see directly the "program" folder when I click the windows logo.
I hope this is the correct place to ask this question. I come from Window XP. I am used to see my long list of programs all spread out so I can see what I have w/o scrolling.

I read some posts stating to "unhide" all the folders in windows explorer to help the situation. That seemed to restore alot of programs, but I still can't launch certain programs off the Start Menu nor can I see their shortcut in Windows Explorer. I'm able to open files using those programs from Windows explorer, I just cant open the program itself from the Start Menu. The folders of those programs on the Start Menu say "empty" and no program is displayed.
