I am using google chrome. I have orbit downloader software too. When I want to download anything it automatically downloads from google chrome. But I want to download from orbit. How I can change my downloader to orbit?
View 1 RepliesI am running Windows 7 with Media Center on a HTPC, and all the media/content is stored on a NAS. Because this PC is used by kids and guests, it has a READ-ONLY access to my NAS and its content.However, I noticed that each time I access the music folder, windows starts (again!) to build the album art library for each song I have (my NAS has A LOT of content). Same goes for all our pictures?When we first access the pictures (after a reboot?) Media Center has to REBUILD the thumbnail for EACH PICTURE. This takes a lot of time.I could be wrong, but I think that the problem is that the PC tries to write the thumbnails and album art in each directory on the NAS, and obviously is denied writing rights. What I would like to do is have Media Center cache those thumbnails and album arts LOCALLY, so that it doesn't have to rebuild them each time.

In file associations it shows that .vob is linked to powerdvd. Is there a way so that when I doubleklick the dvd I want to play powerdvd is started.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter working fine for months my Comodo Firewall failed to start properly on one bootup. Without giving me the option to say do NOT make any changes--for each of the two dialog boxes, I said just close the program--the PCA popped up saying it had applied a compatibility fix! (In the past on older OS's under similar circumstances, I would simply reboot and things would be OK afterwards WITHOUT having my system changed.)
How do I see what change(s) were made and, hopefully, undo them so I can reboot my system and see if the trouble reoccurs?

But when I close the window and open it again => nothing change I have try to turn off the UAC but still can not change in this function?What can I do to change it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to windows 7 through a clean install. I just reinstalled itunes but when it prompts me to change itunes to the default program to use for audio files, I click yes and nothing happens. It prompts me every time I open itunes. I went to control panel -> programs -> default programs -> set default programs and itunes wasn't there. I then went to ->associate a file type or protocol with a program but when I tried to change the default program for .mp3 the following happened:
- I double click .mp3
- I click browse
- Secondary Drive -> Itunes -> Itunes.exe
- I arrive at the screen that popped up after I double clicked .mp3 and itunes isn't on the list.
I tried going to a random .mp3 file and changing its default program but the same thing happened. I googled what to do and I looked for a software that would change the default program for filetypes and I used both. They didn't work. I tried the following:
a. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
b. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer
c. In the right side of the screen double click on "NoFileAssociate".
d. Change the value of "NoFileAssociate" from 1 to 0. If the value is not present, create a DWORD value and enter the valaue data as 0.
e. Exit Registry Editor and Restart the computer and check.
But I didn't seem to have the nofileassociate part in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer
My itunes and safari icons have both changed to a completely unrecognisable icon. I cannot run either of this programs on my computer. I have tried reinstalling but this didnt work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm desperately trying to change the sidebar gadget to open websites by default with Mozilla Firefox (in particular, the "Ask LEO" gadget).
Firefox is my default browser. If I double-click on a .url file saved on my system, it correctly opens Firefox, and so does clicking a link in MS Outlook. Again, Firefox is default, but that's not my problem.
Somewhere I found the advice to change the "Set program access and computer defaults" settings. So I tried, but every time I change something there, it doesn't keep the setting. I click on Custom => Default Web Browser => Mozilla Firefox, click OK, get some flashing on desktop, but next time I get there it's set back to "Use current browser" again.
Anyone got the same problem? I'm using the 7100 (x86) build, but a friend of mine tried the same on the final build (x64) and he got the same problem. It's reverting all the time. Re-installed Firefox, restarted, changed/tried/reset everything I can imagine.
Edit: It seems the problem is a Javascript-call "window.open" in the "Ask LEO" gadget. Someone knows why this call opens IE and every other call doesn't? And is there a workaround?
Edit2: With a dirty hack I solved the problem. Edited the gadget and replaced "window.open" by "System.Shell.execute". Still - I'd like to know why a) I can't change the default programs setting and b) why window.open ignores my default browser configuration.
how can I assign permission to change file names to a program? If I want to rename a file manually, I am asked to provide administrator permission, if I want a program to rename files, the access is denied.

Main computer is the office computer. Its a desktop that a person is constantly on and doing stuff. There are 3 others that need the same information and documents at any given time. These 3 people have their laptops that are constantly switching wifi hotspots. They need to change information sometimes, and need access to all of it any time. The way its setup now is 1 person is on the main computer, but when one of the three need to access it, they remotely log in and take control. Only one person can access the computer at a time. How do I set it up so all four of these people can access and change the files at the same time if they want? The main computer is being used constantly, but someone always needs a document or file while the main person is working on it. So it slows production when someone logs in.

I have a computer with three partitions, the first with 100GB exclusively to Windows 7 (already installed), a partition for applications and another partition for personal files (photos, text, music, movies, etc.). I wonder how to configure the location of "My Documents", so that all users have only their personal files on drive of personal files. In Windows Explorer changed in each of the users the location of the Documents, Music, Video and Pictures.
- After changed the location of the folders above, there is still the same folders in C:users , and there are user settings that are there defined, eg Desktop, in C:Users. Is there any way to move all settings and folders to another drive?
- Is there any way to do this operation automatic? for future users I will have to repeat the same operation, how can I indicate that all future users will have their settings and documents specified in this specific drive?
I installed some applications and found that some applications did not demand that the location where it was set to be installed the application, having been installed in C:users and C:Program Files, intended that all applications (except for windows and Office) were installed in drive applications. How do I specify that this is the default drive for installation applications? Keeping the installations of Windows + Office in this drive. Applications installed by the administrator are available for all users or must be given access to other users ? How done? In the drive file, which should contain the users and shared files, meant that each user only gets access their documents and shared. Where and how can make this configuration?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use the latest version of firefox and use Dodo wireless broadband and I can never get beyond 98% of a download, it's very frustrating when certain programs have to be updated to even run. According to dodo's signal charts I should be in the best location for their signals and when I contact them they refuse to take any responsibility for it. I wasted countless gigs on downloads that just won't finish. Is there anything I can do to make the downloads finish? I've tried disabling my anti virus, firewalls, tried using IE8, NOTHING WORKS!

I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
