Any ideas on how to tweak the color of the menu background of Windows 7 applications?
To be specific - as I'm not sure of the correct name - I'm talking about the pale blue color which appears behind "File Edit View History " on Firefox (and other programs), below the title header. It is used as the unselected tab background too.
I don't like it!
I want this color to appear uniformly Grey, as in XP, and without the light slim horizontal embellishment cutting through the words.
how to colour in trimmings and borders black and then change the font colour. I want everything black with orange writing. I've seen it and I lik it, I just cant figure out to do it?Also, when I go to my find new skin page, it is really messy. Lots of bold bright borders and lines and broken lines. Is very hard to read. What have I done?
On one of my pc's selected text appears on a dark background colour which is hardly visible on dark backgrounds or templatesSo it's in that case almost impossible to see what you have selected.Normally this colour should be lightblue.Since this selected background colour seems to be a general setting of Windows 7, is there a way to change this into it's original state?

This is my first post on the forums and I was wondering if there is any way to have an application run on startup but do so in the background, where it just shows on the lower right task bar?
So if I am playing Left 4 Dead and listen to iTunes...my iTunes gets quiet automatically while playing Left 4 Dead. When I click on the iTunes it gets louder again and Left 4 Dead gets quiet. Is there any way to disable that feature?
I tried everything I can think of to change the desk top back ground but it just stays the same- Windows 7- picture. So not sure what to do now or if it is a fix from microsoft that has to be done? I did follow all the right instructions to do the change but with no change. The Theme will change when I click on it but not the back ground. Read tutials and treads and made sure I was doing it right and all settings were right but still no good!! It really isn't that big of a deal but if it's suppose to work why not on my brand new computer and operating system?
Just a quick question, since I'm still adjusting to Win 7 Professional (even after a few months). Is it normal for some programs to launch quietly, do something, and then quickly close? I usually have Process Explorer open so I can monitor all running applications at all times, and this evening while my machine was idle, I noticed three programs pop up as daughter processes to services.exe. One of them was dllhost, but the other two I couldn't get a good look at. I'm pretty sure it was NOT the defrag, because that runs daughter to scvhost.exe
Anyhow, I'm just wondering, is there a list anywhere of what tasks launch themselves, what to look out for? MBAM and ESET's NOD32 say my system is clean, but programs running themselves without approval always makes me jittery.
Something that has been bugging me, is that when installing a program, the setup wizards and their subwindows open in the background, rather than on top as is normal. Being absent minded, I will sit and wait for several seconds, until I get impatient and look at the taskbar to see new tabs, which I must select to bring the setup on top. How can I set the OS to always bring these on top by default?
I've just had to do a factory restore on my laptop to clean it up and now I've reloaded everything I can't seem to change the desktop background. Well, I can set a different picture, but I can't change the settings for stretch, centre etc. I can access them and try but when I click on save nothing happens.
Every time I try to change my desktop background (the original is from google picasa 3) it goes back to the original picture after restarting the computer. I've tried changing it in control panel and what not.
I had a virus that I got rid of a couple of weeks ago, but it seems there are some "lingering" effects. Today I tried to change the background picture on my desktop and it won't change no matter what I do. Windows 7-64, OS.
Windows 7 Folder Background Changer is a free tiny portable tool that allows you to change any folder's background & text color in Windows 7/Vista. How to use: Run the tool as administrator. If you have run this tool for the first time then it will restart Explorer. Click on Browse and browse for the folder of which you want to change the background/text color. Click on Change Background Image and browse for the image that you want to set as the background of the folder. Click on the Black color rectangle and select the color that you want to set as the text color of the folder. If you want to display a shadow under the text of all the items in the folder, select Show Shadow Under Text. This option will only work with icons view. If you want the style of this folder to be applied to all the sub-folders, select Apply To Sub Folders.
I have a user with a Windows 7 64 bit machine on our domain. A few days ago he recieved a nasty malware virus and we removed it with our virus tools. However, his desktop is not the way it use to be before the malware. The obvious problem being his desktop background is black and it does not change. When I try to change it in control panel to Architecture or Landscapes, nothing happens, just the color of the taskbar changes. Also, Ive noticed that his "Accessories" folder is missing.I tried adjusting settings in the Ease of Access section, but still does not work.
