my pc starts up then shut down keeps doing this anyone know what could be causing this on this motherboard i put everything back in my other motherbaord and its works fine just that board an asrock n68pv-gs pci-e slot doesnt work only the on boards work on it

The issue is that when i shut down my PC it starts to isntall updates and warns me not to shut off the PC. However the updates go on for ever. Every time I shut down, there are two or 10 updates. each update takes 1 hour and can go on to 48 hours. I cant do anything with the PC unitl the updates finish. I force it shut down but when i bring it back up it starts installing the updates. very frustrating. I am very disappointed with Dell because they wont help until I cerate a tech support with them for $300.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAsus A54C-SX327S and no matter what I do whether I shutdown or hibernate it always powers back up on its own when the power in plugged in. If I unplug the power it shutsdown fine and I can plug the power back in and nothing happens, it just charges like a normal laptop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just built a new system today, and I have been running into some significant issues whenever I try to reboot. Basically, the system hangs up on the Starting Windows screen at the exact same instance whenever I reboot. This has been happening since I installed Windows 7 64-bit edition. After I booted and installed off of the installation DVD, it froze up on the first restart. I then tried to install Windows again. That worked, but it then again froze on the first reboot. I then had to manually shut down the pc and start it up again. Fortunately, it picked up where I left off and finished the Windows 7 install.After I installed Windows 7, I have had no problems whatsoever expect for when I restart, as the system freezes at the point specified on the image above. However, if I shut down my computer and then start it up, everything loads fine.
Here are my specs:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a ASUS Laptop with Intel I3 processer and Windows 7 Home Premium. I recently had a forced shutdown during a Windows upgrade session. Ever since then the Boot and Shutdown times have increased to over 15 minutes. I have run the msconfig unticking all but the antivirus (Kaspersky) and it still takes >15 min to boot and Shutdown. Is there something I can do before I decide to reinstall Windows &. (I dont have a install disk.) The software came with the Computer and I have the OEM code (Bought at Best Buy)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two windows updates that keep failing. When i go to shutdown my computer I always have an update icon attached to the shutdown key. The download is always 1of1. Then when i reboot, the update icon is still there. I'm thinking since the two updates are failing, it has something to do with the 1of1 update not downloading properly. I went to windows update to check for new updates, and the only one is the two that keep failing. My computer just blue screened on shutdown today, winch got me thinking i really need to fix this.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo , when i turn off PC for a first time of a day , pc always take some time before starts. i turn it on and nothing loads up on screen for about half minute , then pc work like normal , windows start and i enter my desktop.btw PC is not new, im not sure if was like that before, cause it was my brothers PC. I know that he spilt cola for about 1 month ago. It was just little , and it comes on graphic card. But like i said so long PC running perfectly except that start litte late. Could it be graphic card ? Games works perfect and everything else like i said. Also pc have hdd like 5 years old.Also i reinstalled windows , but still the same. Should i be worried about this

The programs that start with the OS are KAV 6 and Internet Download Manager. So it should not be consuming that amount of memory. I canīt buy more RAM in this moment, so what can i do?

We recently located our home computers, modem and router to another room. I reconnected everything with the same cables, and it came on fine. After an automatic Systems Update it did not come back on, and now when I try to boot from either the Boot Manager or Advanced Boot Screen, at every option it loads files and then, before or during the time when the lights and logo start to appear, it turns off. I do not have the recovery disk, and in any case my DVD-RW has not worked for about a year.
I have a new DVD-RW which I am going to install, but I am uncertain if that will solve the problem. Is there any way to get to a Command prompt without Windows booting up, and at least access the hard drive that way, or am I up the well known tributary with inadequate means of propulsion?
I obviously have a problem with Windows 7. My computer worked fine until yesterday evening when suddenly Windows stuck. It looks like my disk is working (or trying to work) constantly. I am only able to use my computer normally every 5 minutes (and just for 20 seconds). Only the mouse works all the time. When I start the task manager nothing looks wrong.Everything works well in safe mode (I am currently using it) so I am a bit confused. Could it be an issue with the hardware?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to run memtest 86+ because I suspect I'm having a RAM issue - was getting lots of BSODs and now I am unable to reinstall windows (currently using ubuntu). I have made a bootable dvd with memtest86+ on it and a bootable usb as well as the built in memtest that is built into the linux grub bootloader. When I boot from any of these devices, the memtest screen (blue, with some writing - I recognize it from screenshots of the program) will pop up for about half a second, then it goes away and my computer restarts. This happens in an endless cycle until I turn the computer off or take the disk/usb out.
