I have Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1. The RAM is 2 GB DDR 3 1333 MHz. for some reason when the system starts itīs already consuming the 60 - 65% of the RAM. The programs that start with the OS are KAV 6 and Internet Download Manager. So it should not be consuming that amount of memory. I canīt buy more RAM in this moment, so what can i do?
On a windows7 64bit HP laptop, I have ESET Smart Security and I'm behind a router, also use spybot and malware bytes to check out system on a regular basis. I have this problem recently where the windows search service seems to constantly increase cpu usage until my memory is low. I have 8gb of Ram installed and I have just disabled all indexing and Windows search service. However I would like to be able to enable the indexing again and I feel like there might be some malware that is evading malware bytes and eset. I noticed that when I downloaded GMER rootkit revealer and some Nirsoft utilities last week that this began to happen. I have heard that Nirsoft tools are safe so I downloaded a bunch of them to check out my registry and since then I have had this cpu process and memory problem. I have ran hijackthis but i don't see anything superdifferent about my log.I would like to post my log somewhere and have some more people check it out. Where can i do this on this site?
My PC has started running very slowly and I have narrowed this down to SVCHost running at 100% cpu in the task manager. Using Process Explorer I can see that this process is hosting Power, PlugnPlay and DCOMLaunch services.
I have run several anti-virus applications including malwarebytes and nothing was found.
I have a laptop with a 4gb RAM.. suddenly the laptop got slow..so slow that i was'nt able to move my cursor...i saw the processes list and found that 'svchost.exe' was using exorbitantly high amout of memory...i cannot post the screenshot of the task manager..as my system has become unresponsive..
I find that one instance of svchost.exe consistently consumes around 200MB of RAM. I find this to be a problem at times as I do a lot of memory intensive work including Photoshop, etc. I've attached a screenshot showing the services attached to this particular process.
Any idea which of these services might be a likely culprit? Are there any I can safely disable to free up some RAM? 200MB seems quite high for that.
After I restart either of my Dell laptops which both run MobileMe (Apples' email/calendar sync tool used with iphones/pads) I notice a huge slowdown in performance and applesyncnotifier.exe is usually consuming 50% of my dual core processor (I assume this is the max it can grab).I've seen all kinds of posts on how to remedy (kill the applesync process, place an eventlog trigger to kill process etc etc) but nothing that's actually resolved the problem. Oddly killing the process seems to have no effect on the software, which seems to run/sync ok regardless.Apple stated a few times to change the sync period from 'automatic' to daily or some other timeframe, but this doesnt seem to solve things, just mitigate a little. It's a real pain having to kill this PID - of course it may well be ropey software, but I've upgraded MobileMe a couple of times and no change. Also I'd expect the problem to occur a lot more often out there than it seems to.
It all starts when i try to open one flv video downloaded from you tube to my desktop.when i try to open it in VLC player.it doesn't do anything ,laptop goes hang.I checked my task manager and found that explorer.exe is consuming 100 % of cpu .I exit my explorer by endprocess and later on on activate from new task.I some how manged to delete that file. But now problem is that when i try to open some video file, the moment i right click the file ,explorer.axe goes 100 percent and system hangs. Now every time i have to exit explorer when this happens. Now I am gone mad with this and want to get rid from this . I have found many remedies from net ,but didnt make it all success.

My cursor begins to have the little circle/disk start to run as if it is activating a program. The disk runs for about five seconds then stops and restarts again after five seconds and this continues forever. I have restarted the computer, restored from a previous point and yet the cursor still runs the little disk/circle.
I have an eMachines T5254 that has Windows 7 Home Premium on it, upgraded from Vista.
We recently located our home computers, modem and router to another room. I reconnected everything with the same cables, and it came on fine. After an automatic Systems Update it did not come back on, and now when I try to boot from either the Boot Manager or Advanced Boot Screen, at every option it loads files and then, before or during the time when the lights and logo start to appear, it turns off. I do not have the recovery disk, and in any case my DVD-RW has not worked for about a year.
I have a new DVD-RW which I am going to install, but I am uncertain if that will solve the problem. Is there any way to get to a Command prompt without Windows booting up, and at least access the hard drive that way, or am I up the well known tributary with inadequate means of propulsion?
I obviously have a problem with Windows 7. My computer worked fine until yesterday evening when suddenly Windows stuck. It looks like my disk is working (or trying to work) constantly. I am only able to use my computer normally every 5 minutes (and just for 20 seconds). Only the mouse works all the time. When I start the task manager nothing looks wrong.Everything works well in safe mode (I am currently using it) so I am a bit confused. Could it be an issue with the hardware?
My windows operating system is not working properly. It's taking too much time to start. Sometime, after starting, internet connection isn't being connected. After restarting PC it connects. Sometimes, after starting PC, a message shows that the windows wasn't shut down properly. Then some options come i.e. "Start windows normally" and so on. After pressing 'Enter' it starts. Why all these occurring? Please give me the solution.N.B. I use Windows-7 as Operating System, Mozilla Firefox as browser and Panda Cloud Antivirus as antivirus.
I'm trying to run memtest 86+ because I suspect I'm having a RAM issue - was getting lots of BSODs and now I am unable to reinstall windows (currently using ubuntu). I have made a bootable dvd with memtest86+ on it and a bootable usb as well as the built in memtest that is built into the linux grub bootloader. When I boot from any of these devices, the memtest screen (blue, with some writing - I recognize it from screenshots of the program) will pop up for about half a second, then it goes away and my computer restarts. This happens in an endless cycle until I turn the computer off or take the disk/usb out.
instaled windows 7 32bit ultimate version. After few days of using it there is many times when windows gets on screen_starting windows and freezes.there is times when need to boot PC 3 times till it start windows normaly.
I have read in other threads the function of CONHOST.EXE process in Windows 7 (the legit process located in SYSTEM32 folder). But I wonder why in my pc this process appears only when I use the Tor Browser, and not when I use the stardard Firefox browser or in any other situation.
When I want to turn on my computer, After pressing the power button, the lights and fans start but not the computer itself. I need to turn off (by holding the power button pressed) and on several times until finaly the computer starts.
I have a brand new computer. It is an HP Compaq Pro 6300. I run Windows 7 Pro.My screen saver and my power settings never kick in. I have searched the internet for answers. Nothing I tried has helped. I had a session with HP tech support, they couldn't figure it out.
I have an Acer Aspire 4743g. days back my Windows 7 Ultimate got Corrupted, so I cannot start my laptop so I cleaned it(Delete then Reinstalled the OS). Then It worked..But i have noticed another problem. my laptop freezes about 2 seconds then Starts up Again.. then freezes and un froze again... Then I am hearing some clicking sound on my disk drive on the right.(where I put DVD/CD's). And my laptop is 1 Year and 1 Month old, I haven't cleaned the fan. I think it has so many dust/oil in it that may also cause's my laptop to freeze from time to time. Then after about 10 minutes the Blue Screen of Death Appears!. It's so frustrating. I tried using Check Disk but it is stuck on the 4th Stage out of 5. like around 53k. I also tried defraging it. but nothing happens. I am in Safe mode now.
