View 4 RepliesI have a problem with my sapphire radeon graphics card. What it is iv been having problems with drivers with being not responding then recovered. So i did some research online and quite a few forums have said flash and update the gpu bios. (stuped mistake of my life) Anyway iv worked out iv put the wrong bios on and i was wondering if its possible to revert the flash, but one problem i didnt back up the bios before hand so im stuffed. I have found one online what apparently it will work but i dont know how to make a bin format file to boot with a usb stick.

This new client has Win7 on all workstations and a small business server running in a domain environment. I installed Kaspersky on all 8 pc's in their business. The next day we got a call from one of them saying their computer was acting strange. Once I got there I discovered the pc would freeze when launching Quickbooks or Outlook. I ran a malware scan which turned up nothing. Then after some troublshooting steps I decide to uninstall Kaspersky. I didn't want to leave him with no protection so I installed AVG free. Same outcome. The computer only will operate without antivirus.

When in a game specifically world of warcraft sometimes my screen will freeze for 1 to 2 seconds then come back all of a sudden. i have ruled out a graphics card issue and have narrowed it down to this. As many of you may already know the "scvhost.exe" issue lags up my entire computer and i believe is the culprit of the cpu bottleknecking. I have disabled windows update and windows defender two things that have been labeled with this issue and still the problem persists. Scv host is running 11 applications of itself currently and one of them is around 135k at all times. i have a amd 2.4 dual core and 6 gigs of ram my system usually flies. I am running out of ideas and frankly running out of patience.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen using Merlin X950D 3G on the Rogers network in Ontario Canada with Windows 7 64-bit the computer freezes. It worked with no problems in Vista 64-bit. It does not always freeze right away but eventually it does freeze. When using the laptop without the 3G adapter connected to WiFi instead the computer runs fine and does not freeze after hours of use.
When installing Windows 7 I did a clean full install and not the upgrade option.
I recently had BSODs and freezes.I was under the impression these were related. I found that the BSOD was a driver related to a logitech camera, which i ahve unistalled.I have since completed accidently stumbled upon "summary page events" in event viewer and have noticed all these errors were when ive been having these complete system freezes. View 9 Replies View RelatedEver since taking my laptop back to bestbuy for Mobo replacement (I plugged headphones into the USB jack on accident, rendering 3/4 jacks useless), she's been freezing randomly. I've narrowed it down i hope. After saving an Audacity *.aup file, and trying to reopen it, she freezes to where the mouse no longer moves and a CAD is impossible. Found out that Windows Audio Service (or one of it's dependancies) were causing it. Upon stopping WAS, the file was openable, but not playable, for the audio device was shut off. The freeze is only triggered by opening that audacity file. Elsewhere, it's random, sometimes with audio playing, sometimes not. Audacity also sometimes crashes while recording. Tried to repair my drivers, but windows says they're all the freshest bunch of audio drivers there are for my particular device.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to work out some issues that have been plaguing my computer for a few weeks now. my problem is that my system will freeze and become unresponsive when watching Internet and other video players that use flash. i can't get back to normal even if i use ctrl + alt + delete or escape, forcing me to run a hard reset on my computer. an example of what i'll see is in the picture. so i uninstalled chrome, ran a full system scan and pc tuneup using norton 360, unistalled and reinstalled flash and uninstalled and reinstalled my nvidia gtx 560 ti driver.
View 8 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, some applications have begun to freeze right after startup. They don't respond for several minutes and then suddenly work completely normal. I've noticed this behavior in XBMC, Windows Media Player and an application that I've programmed myself (using Python and PyQt, not related to media playing).
The problem seems to be related to the file system somehow, as the freeze returns when I open a "Save as..." dialog in my application. However, other programs work fine, including "Save as..." dialogs. The event log does not show errors or warnings.
I started noticing frequent locks-ups/freezing/restarting/BSOD when my pc runs any game, plays HD vids, and anything that requires the Graphic card to do some work. Sometimes the USB ports just suddenly drop out and stop working.
It only happens when I use something that the FX card needs to run on heavily. If im just browsing the net or working in a document, nothing happens. I see it most when i open "World of Warcraft" for example, its on the highest settings etc, at a random time between 5-60 minutes it will freeze/restart/BSOD. Sometimes i get lucky, but most of the time i will have to hard reboot cuz of a lock-up of the keyboard or mouse.
I dont think its a heating problem because i just removed all the dust and such from my PC about 2 weeks ago, and temp's of the processors look ok. I noticed something else, if i touch the case of my PC at specific spots, i get a bit of a shock from the electricity, i dont know if that has anything to do with it, but it could be PSU related? Im not so sure. Just giving u all the details.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi purchased windows vista that came with a windows 7 pro upgrade coupon so i could have an os for the time being and upgrade to 7 later. upon receiving my 7 upgrade i have had great performance increases in both games and applications but there was a problem, every time i game (and now its just started happening when im not gaming as well) i have had sporadic blue screen problems. all relating to the Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power (in event viewer it is categorized as error 41). the thing is this just started happening right after i used the upgrade disc to upgrade from vista business x64 to 7 pro x64.
i have done the following troubleshooting steps, i have replaced the bridge on my SLI setup, i have checked the power supply connections inside my pc, i have looked and preformed all available driver updates. if anyone has any suggestions as to why i am having these issues with the Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout 10 months ago I ordered an HP pavilion on amazon. Without really looking up the specs I would need daily. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I really enjoy playing S4 league and Forsaken World. Well within 4 months I noticed something was wrong with the cooling fan so I kept it for a while as is. Then I sent it to HP for the warranty thing the other day. Another reason I why I decided to send it back for repairs was. The fps went from 62.5 (max fps for that game) and started spiking down to 40ish on s4 league. For the last 10 months it would get hot and loud and such but never affected my fps for anything. So while it's getting fixed I decided to look up ways to improve it. And it seems overclocking is pretty effective. They say it's not safe to overclock a laptop because it'll heat up quicker. What I was wondering was when you over clock it, and let's say the CPU is 2.4GHz and would go up to 3ghz with overclocking. Is it running at 3GHz all the time even during idol stats or simple tasks? Like basically whenever it needs more than 2.4 GHz it'll start using more? And if not then if let's say I take it to class to take notes with or surf the web. It won't heat up because it wouldn't be using 3GHz right? And let's say if I did need 3Ghz, if I use a cooling pad like the Cooler Master NotePal X2 Laptop Cooling Pad with 140mm Blue LED Fan (R9-NBC-4WAK-GP). Would it somehow help cool it down?
I'd like to know if my netbook would be overclock able or not. And if possible how exactly to achieve such an epic achievement? @_@. I'm not sure how exactly to present the specs so I'll provide the link of the laptop if that will help. If it isn't realistic at all I'll understand. I actually plan to invest on an assembled computer in a year or so. That I'll put time to study and get the best parts I can. But between now and then I only have this netbook, so I'd like to get out as much as I can off it within the year.
i only just bought a used Acer netbook that is running thet starter win 7...all was working fine for around 5 hours and since then every now and again and for between just a few seconds to having to shut the machine down and restart,the pointer is unstable and jumps to buggery all over the screen...there also appears to be some interference with the touchpad as it is ultra sensitive and the left and right buttons are also dodgy...I have used Acer netbooks before and never had any problems at all...I have seen many threads related to this as soon as I looked it up and am wondering if the is any sort of fix available...I have just found the synaptics box in my netbook and twindled around a little and so far it seems better but this is just how things have been since I got this Acer just 4 days ago.

It has been going on for a while now, I have tried everything I can think of to no avail.I get Blue Screens out of the blue from anywhere, i can be idle to playing a game to the computer just getting into windows. On the link above I've tried many things, inluding memtest, driver verifyer, chkdisk, uninstalling norton (he said that could be the problem), system repair, a complete re-install of windows 7, updating all my drivers. To most recently cutting back to 4GB ram and making the timings and voltages to the correct setting instead of being on 'auto' in my bios, and it still BSODing. I have also ran 'prime95' on a blend test, and had errors on core #4:
I'm having issues since I started using wireless, when playing games (does not matter which, I will always get these lag spikes) where the game will freeze and treadmil (everybody will walk in spot) then unfreeze, this will happen multiple times and is very annoying, making games close to unplayable
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just managed to get myself another Acer netbook running windows 7 starter and everything is virtually fresh and new...I bought it second hand (I know,I know but I`m skint !) although it is pristine condition and running nice and fast etc...however,the cursor/pointer at times jumps all over the place and flickers etc for around 10-20 seconds before becoming ok...but it has happened quite a bit...it has had the memory upped to 2gb ram by the previous owner...aside form that it is free of any junk software etc.

When I restarted my computer it would not start windows 75% of the time, and when it did finally start up it would work for about an hour then freeze again.
