View 1 RepliesIn creating a Word doc, the cursor is suddenly a blue spinning circle - the one we usually see when something is still downloading. The curser still works fine - but that spinning thing has got to go!! Not sure how it appeared suddenly. I had just dowloaded a bunch of critical updates including one Office update. Maybe I just pressed something wrong someplace?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, about two weeks ago Firefox 10 stopped loading web pages. The "connecting" circle keeps spinning and absolutely nothing happens. I have Thunderbird email and may have found a temporary way around it: I right click on "Reload tab" on the website tab I'm trying to access. I have to do it several times for it to connect to the site. I uninstalled FF 10 and reinstalled 9 to see if the problem persisted: it does. I actually had to use Internet Explorer (!) a few times to be able to access the various websites, and I downloaded Chrome as a temporary stop-gap measure in case FF doesn't work at all. Although I don't want to use any browser but Firefox, this malfunctioning is getting me down a lot; I might be going to Chrome permanently. What can be causing this vexing problem of web pages not loading? [I have Windows 7 Profession 32 bit SP1].
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been all over the internet looking at how to resolve intermittent (every 2-3 minutes) slow responses on my Acer laptop that I've had for over a year. 4 weeks ago I had no problems with it. Since then, the internet window I'm on freezes, goes white and says "not responding". I thought it was Firefox at first so I uninstalled but it's the same with Chrome and IE too.Equally if I browse photos, they take forever to load.I hadn't installed anything new or updated anything when the problem occurred so I have done the following to try and resolve (all found on the internet)... Checked the processes running... max cpu 1%... memory 30% - nothing out of the ordinary at all Rolled back to the previous system restore point - no joy Updated my Intel graphics drivers Checked that there were no issues in device manager Run check disk and other tools to confirm drive is sound (it is) Defragged the drive Done a virus scan and spyware scan Run several regfix tools that allegedly speed up your computer (free and purchased) Reinstalled firefox and set max network connections to 42 (from 255) Stopped everything from starting up in MSConfig (eg spyware and virus checkers, adobe etc etc etc) Searched and removed a particular string in the registry (though I cannot remember what that was - sorry - but it did make sense at the time) Alas nothing seems to work. I have seen reports of this all over and have tried everything I can find. The only thing I haven't done that has been suggested is an install/repair as I haven't the disk to do it with (the OS is OEM on the drive and you can only do a full restore which is a last resort).

We do have Kaspersky Anti-virus 2013 installed as well.I have not installed or downloaded anything recently either Could it be a misconfiguration somewhere or maybe parasites ? Should i download Spybot?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi purchased windows vista that came with a windows 7 pro upgrade coupon so i could have an os for the time being and upgrade to 7 later. upon receiving my 7 upgrade i have had great performance increases in both games and applications but there was a problem, every time i game (and now its just started happening when im not gaming as well) i have had sporadic blue screen problems. all relating to the Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power (in event viewer it is categorized as error 41). the thing is this just started happening right after i used the upgrade disc to upgrade from vista business x64 to 7 pro x64.
i have done the following troubleshooting steps, i have replaced the bridge on my SLI setup, i have checked the power supply connections inside my pc, i have looked and preformed all available driver updates. if anyone has any suggestions as to why i am having these issues with the Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power.
I have the problem since the day before yesterday, the problem is, sometimes, I can connect to the interent, and a few mins later, the connection was lost, and a few seconds later, the connection is back. How do I fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where the spinning blue circle that (I suppose) indicates the system is thinking shows up every 10 seconds or so, no matter what I'm doing. I was advised that McAfee antivirus was a likely culprit b/c it often doesn't play well with others. I uninstalled it and went with a freeware solution instead, but the issue remains. [code] My system idle process is at 98, which I understand is a good thing. Also, I read all about SearchIndexer and changed the settings so that there's no unneccessary drag on resources. Question: Is it normal to see processes duplicated like this? My stats: Pentium Dual-Core E5500 2.8 Ghz, 6.00Gb Memory, Windows 7 Home 64-bit. I don't "do" much with the computer, the 1tb hdd is only about 10% used.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new HP computer with Windows 7 and I'm using IE9. The cursor busy circle is constantly running and nothing I do makes it go away. There are no programs trying to open and nothing being downloaded , it happens just by moving the mouse. I already ran a full scan and there are no viruses. I went to the Microsoft website forum but they don't really seem to know what is causing this problem. I read that it might be Constant Guard which is offered by Comcast with Norton so I uninstalled it but that didn't help , I also read it might be the printer software but I haven't tried that yet
View 4 Replies View Relatedi only just bought a used Acer netbook that is running thet starter win 7...all was working fine for around 5 hours and since then every now and again and for between just a few seconds to having to shut the machine down and restart, the pointer is unstable and jumps to buggery all over the screen...there also appears to be some interference with the touchpad as it is ultra sensitive and the left and right buttons are also dodgy...I have used Acer netbooks before and never had any problems at all...I have seen many threads related to this as soon as I looked it up and am wondering if the is any sort of fix available...I have just found the synaptics box in my netbook and twindled around a little and so far it seems better but this is just how things have been since I got this Acer just 4 days ago.
View 2 Replies View Related[code] My computer is unstable and BSODs at random, with error messages such as 'MEMORY_MANAGEMENT' and 'IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL'. I posted my problem on another forum (SevenForums) and had someone helping me but they seem to have dissapeared and my problem has not. url...If you don't mind please read up until page 2 as that is my latest errors (posted today). If you would rather me post my problem here direct I will. If you can see the attachments to my posts the dumps are also on that website, but once again I will post everything here if requested. I just see linking you to things I've already tried the best option rather than me try to explain everything again .
It has been going on for a while now, I have tried everything I can think of to no avail.I get Blue Screens out of the blue from anywhere, i can be idle to playing a game to the computer just getting into windows. On the link above I've tried many things, inluding memtest, driver verifyer, chkdisk, uninstalling norton (he said that could be the problem), system repair, a complete re-install of windows 7, updating all my drivers. To most recently cutting back to 4GB ram and making the timings and voltages to the correct setting instead of being on 'auto' in my bios, and it still BSODing. I have also ran 'prime95' on a blend test, and had errors on core #4:
I'm having issues since I started using wireless, when playing games (does not matter which, I will always get these lag spikes) where the game will freeze and treadmil (everybody will walk in spot) then unfreeze, this will happen multiple times and is very annoying, making games close to unplayable
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just managed to get myself another Acer netbook running windows 7 starter and everything is virtually fresh and new...I bought it second hand (I know,I know but I`m skint !) although it is pristine condition and running nice and fast etc...however,the cursor/pointer at times jumps all over the place and flickers etc for around 10-20 seconds before becoming ok...but it has happened quite a bit...it has had the memory upped to 2gb ram by the previous owner...aside form that it is free of any junk software etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedToday while playing league of legends on my typically stable pc my screen went black and it froze. When I restarted my computer it would not start windows 75% of the time, and when it did finally start up it would work for about an hour then freeze again. It seemed to me like a system overheat because I don't have any new hardware and it is pretty hot here, but my temps on my cores are around 50 celcius and my gpu is around 60.I have a mostly prebuilt and quad core 2.2 ghz with a new psu (corsair 750 tx) gpu (6950 2gb) and case (mid to full sized).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI put in my disc for a computer game and I noticed it was taking a very, very long time to install. I check the disc drive- it's not spinning.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSomeone brought me their laptop yesterday, not usually my kinda thing to do repairs but I thought it was gonna be a software issue but no constant BSoDs on Vista so I figured I'd install 7 which worked fine for a bit but it was still playing up given it was a fresh install and then some more blue screens! I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and it said there were errors within seconds but I couldn't get back onto 7 to view them. This morning I cleaned it out and swapped the memory to the other port but the screen wouldn't even switch on then, so I put it back and made sure it was seated properly and ran memory diagnostic again and no errors! Success! The only thing is, the fan isn't spinning it spins for about 5 seconds but then nothing and I imagine soon enough it'll overheat.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows blue circle cursor spins. Computer slow.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn powering up the blue circle behind the cursor pulses regularly together with the thumbnail and blue header which pulse alternatively and I cannot use the keyboard during one of these pulse cycles which occur about every 3 seconds which makes it impossible to type anything! I have 'solved' this occasionally by taking battery out, disconnecting power and opening in Safemode and then closing down and rebooting normally but there is no clear pattern to resolve this except to leave the machine permanently powered up - which works until the next Windows update and off we go again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI built a computer, and I am using a Coreā¢ i5-3570K Processor w/ Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Motherboard, and I am using the stock CPU Fan (that comes with the Processor), I noticed that the CPU Fan only spins when the computer is booting, then stops spinning when it has finished booting (when windows has fully loaded). When I go into my BIOS Settings, the CPU Fan still spins. But when it boots Windows, it suddenly stops. I have tried unplugging my CPU Fan from the motherboard and plugging it in again, but that doesn't seem to fix it. It is in the correct socket.

My laptop recently shutdown due to no power, when I restarted i was able to get to the main screen, but then i couldn't go any further...kept getting the infinite twirling circle. Am able to start in safe mode, where i ran superanyispyware, trend micro and malwarebytes full scan for each and all came back clean. my daughter uses this sometimes and downloads some things so am hoping it hasn't screwed anything up.
i used to watch a lot of videos and tv shows online, and everything went great, videos loaded good, buffering was great, etc.. now i wanted to watch an episode of a show i missed on tv, so i went on putlocker and when i clicked play, it just kept doing this moving circle that means its loading. it kept doing this until i just gave up. after chrome didn't work i tried firefox, exact same problem. i've tried the same episode on the website movpod and exact same problem on both firefox and chrome, kept trying to load and fail...
now i reinstalled flash flayer, shockwave flash, etc., nothing. i tried same thing with different episodes and different shows , same problem. Internet videos loaded and worked perfectly, both 5 mins ones and 2hrs ones. i remember like a month and a half ago, after i stopped watching online, it kept said " shockwave flash crashed" so i got an answer where i got into somewhere with a list of a lot of things and i disabled something in shockwave flash that fixed the crashing problem but i never tried to watch online videos since then but i don't know how to enable that thing again.
what the blue circle means when it appears on the network internet access icon in the sys tray on windows 7?
