Is there any way I can record a series, have it record the reruns, but have it not record the same rerun twice? That way I can catch up on series that I have missed and not have to delete multiple episodes.
Maybe it does this automatically as I haven't recorded much yet, but I'm just making sure.
I'm putting together a slide show of 3D images that I want to show on my TV next week when we have company.I would like the images to stay on the screen a little longer without having to actually create a slide show in some special application like Premiere.
The Slide Show function in Explorer works great if I can control the timing.
just completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.

ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
I have been using the MC in win7 to watch Live TV and it has been working fine. Then one day, I go to turn it on and I get a blue box that says "CANNOT RECORD" with an ok button. Press the OK button and noting happens. Meanwhile the TV is playing perfectly fine behind it. how to get rid of the box?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 and have successfully recorded sound clips using the Accessories Sound Recorder. Next time I recorded a sound I carelessly plugged the mic into the earphone socket. Naturally I was unable to play back a previously recorded sound so I fiddled with the settings (I'm descended from a long line of idiots). Then the penny dropped and I plugged the mic into the correct socket, now because of my fiddling I can't record clips that will play back. I can play back my earlier clips.

i'm using vlc to record a part of my favorite videos so i can upload them on Internet. there's a small problem, when i try to record hd videos i get a crappy quality, however the original video has a very good quality, consider the following video:
the original video, the one that i record this part from is having a very good quality (hd 720p), it's in mkv format and i guess it's x264. why do i get this quality?
i did the same thing with a non-hd video and it worked better: how can i record with the best quality? at least a quality as same as the original one?
I have an HP laptop with built in webcam and although I've use WMP to record myself there's no recording of sound. My computer plays the sound and it works well with skype.

I have downloaded Mixcraft 5 which seems pretty good but the sound quality is pretty bad (sounds distant, like I'm in another room). Can anyone recommend an additional soundcard? Would this make a difference? My budget is not great - £20 to £40. Is it possible/worth it to upgrade to a better soundcard from the factory installed one (I guess its on board) for this price?

I also have a 500Gb HHD that i install most of my game on.The program i use to record call "Fraps" i install it on the SSD drive, and the game on the HHD drive.I try to record a game play while i play and my FPS went from 60fps to 20 or so, which make it kinda spike lag a bit. The video file i save on the HHD drive, but i notice when i save it to the SSD drive is recored smoothly. I only have 112Gb that not alot for recording?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout two weeks ago, Windows Media Center stopped changing channels automatically when a program is set to record. The guide displays "this program will record as part of a series request" or "this program will be recorded", just like normal. I will even get a notification that media center will change the channel to record. However, it never changes and does not record.
Here is what I have done to troubleshoot: I have uninstalled the tuner(physically) & re-installed Updated the drivers for the tuner Ran complete MCE setup again Completely removed device & drivers via control panel Would this be a MCE problem or a tuner card issue?

I want to be able to record the sound playing out of my computer and then save it as some kind of audio file and do what I wish with it. Audacity sounded like what I am supposed to use but I can't figure out how to make it work if it would even work for me. I am using digital coaxial out for my speakers but I thought this shouldn't affect the recording. I have my speakers hooked up with direct analog 6 channel connections as well. So I have a digital S/PDIF interface I could record from but it does nothing really - it only works when I play DTS or Dolby Digital movies.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using my desktop like normal then an error came up saying that there was a hdd failure, and that i needed to scan for errors. all my files disappeared and only this error would come up. There would be hundreds of the same msg spamed on my screen. I scaned my hdd for errors using my Bios/Advanced options and no errors came up. I decided to take out the hdd and put it into my External Hdd bay to hook up to my laptop to extract the data off it.When i hooked it up to my laptop it showed up empty. I went into folder options and clicked on show hidden files and folders. Everything came up but it was grey/transparent. I then copied the files to another hdd for backup.
Then i formatted the hdd and put on a fresh new OS. Id like to mention i have a second internal drive that i use for backups but it wasnt backed up recently when this issue happen so i had to take out the main drive and use it as an external to back up onto another external drive.so then when i click on my second internal drive after the reinstall of the new OS it shows empty i have to go in and show hidden files and folders.. now they show again transparent. also i plug in my external to get the recent back up and all those files are still transparent when i move them to my desktop that is freshly OS installed they are still grey/transparent and i have to keep the show hidden files and folders to view them.. so its all my music, pics, documents etc they are all greyed out..i tried to copy my backup IE favs into my new IE browser and they wont show up because they are hiden it shows it copied to the favs folder but in ie i cannot view them if that makes any sense.
I recently reformatted my computer and reinstalled win 7. Before I reformatted, I had a shortcut pinned to my taskbar that opened my sound recorder and playback controls so I didnt have to go through control panel to access them. just one click on the shortcut and I could access the record and playback tabs. Unfortunately I have forgotten how I did this. I read it somewhere but I didn't make a note of it. Now every time I want to change the way I listen to sound or record sound I have to go through CP to get to them. I know I can pin the control panel to the taskbar and open the controls from there but that means 2 mouse clicks where I used to do it with just the one click. how to put these shortcuts on my taskbar.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I just used a removal tool by Symantec to remove the virus Tidserv Activity on one of my laptops. I restarted the computer and it wouldn't boot. Now I need to restore the MBR since the MBR was infected.It's a Dell laptop. I found that the laptop has System Recovery preinstalled. The instructions Symantec gave me to remove the virus says to use the Windows 7 CD-ROM to restore the MBR, which I don't have.I do however have a Windows 7 re-installation DVD, if reinstallation makes a difference.Can I use the re-installation DVD and is that safer? Or is it okay to just go to System Recovery since it's already pre-installed?My third question is after I decide which way to go about tackling this issue, how do I manually restore the MBR? I've faintly entered "fixmbr" command in the command prompt but it didn't work, basically saying it wasn't a valid command.
