I've tried for years to figure this out, and I read tutorials and all that yet it all NEVER works for me. I want to be able to record the sound playing out of my computer and then save it as some kind of audio file and do what I wish with it. Audacity sounded like what I am supposed to use but I can't figure out how to make it work if it would even work for me. I am using digital coaxial out for my speakers but I thought this shouldn't affect the recording. I have my speakers hooked up with direct analog 6 channel connections as well. So I have a digital S/PDIF interface I could record from but it does nothing really - it only works when I play DTS or Dolby Digital movies.
I want to record a radio show from live streaming. It is a 2 hour show.Their podcasts they post on the radios site is usually dead. So I want to start recording them thru Live streaming? streaming recording program I can use for this ( Free would be nice) I am running windows 7 But I have an xp computer if the program is not 7 compatable.
I Re-installed Windows 7 on my Laptop and It removed basically everything and now I cannot Record with either "Stereo Mix", or "Record Playback" which is basically the same thing I tryed doing the sound properties thing.I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Would ripping blu ray be better than ripping DVDs? I have trouble ripping pirates of the caribbean on stranger tides. Is blu ray better with region codes, when ripping blu ray? Is Pavtube a good ripper for ripping Blu Ray? Will there be a switch to the Blu Ray format, instead of DVDs? What burner for Blu Ray discs, to use, that doesn't take long to burn to?
Im planning to buy a PS3 move, but I was thinking if its worth it. Can you give me a feedback on what you think of the move and what games you love to play with it? I'm a fan of adventure games, so i want the move to be like a sword or whatever, where i can swing it and stuff. I also plan on playing FPS with it, not a fan of FPS, but I think the PS3 Move can make it better.
My freshly installed Windows 7 Professional often crashes when video is played from local hard disk or though internet. The system sometimes crashes even when only music visualization (e.g. though Winamp) is enabled. The system still crashes and this is independent of movie player used.
I wonder if any of my video drivers are outdated or whether I have insufficient memory...
ASUS F5R (2007) 32-bit Windows 7 Professional installed on 3/11/2012 original OS: Windows XP
First off lemme give you a few specs of my computer in case you can determine right off what the problem is
Gateway - model GT5656
AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3GHz
3GB RAM
GeForece 8600 GT graphics
Wide screen HD monitor currently at 1440 x 900 resolution
Okay now the problem is when i play Crysis even on MEDIUM i get laggy/choppy gameplay and i checked the fps (this was a long time ago) i don't remember what they were but just that they were skipping around. I don't know that much about gaming but i figured more ram might help, plus i wanted more ram regardless because my downloads are only like 400kb/s.
I already ordered enough ram so that my total will be 6GB. Yes i know that i will have to take the other stick out bla bla bla i already calculated that. I'm not 100% sure how good quality it is but this is what i bought: 2GB PC4200 533MHz DDR2 SINGLE STICK 2GB PC-2 4200 RAM - eBay (item 130315129371 end time Jul-26-09 01:02:12 PDT)
Anyways getting to the point, tomorrow i will have enough to buy another one of those to have a total of 7GB ram is it worth it? will a 1GB increase even help that much? (and yes I'm running 64 bit)
Today I remembered the name of a game I played when I was quite young, one of the first games I played. It is called the neverhood, and was around at the sort of time when windows 95 was the latest OS. I managed to find a copy today and was all excited to play this game, but the colours are really strange, certain shades are fluorescent pink, green, yellow, etc while other lighter shades are the colour they are meant to be. I can only assume this is because I am using the wrong colour depth or something, the problems were lessened when I set my colour depth to 16bit, but still not solved.

is there any way to increase the buffer size i don't know whether this should be done on the computer or on the xbox i think it is the xbox as they seem to play ok on the computer.
when i play the avi's it seems as if only about 5 - 10 seconds is buffered then it plays then stutters then plays and so on .
How can I stop WMP12 from opening the last file that was played when I load up a new instance of WMP12? Say I watch a video, close WMp, I click the WMP icon to load the player up, it wants to continue playing the video where I left off. I disabled it before a long time ago, but just reformatted and its doing it again and I cant remember how I did it!
I have been using the MC in win7 to watch Live TV and it has been working fine. Then one day, I go to turn it on and I get a blue box that says "CANNOT RECORD" with an ok button. Press the OK button and noting happens. Meanwhile the TV is playing perfectly fine behind it. how to get rid of the box?
I have Windows 7 and have successfully recorded sound clips using the Accessories Sound Recorder. Next time I recorded a sound I carelessly plugged the mic into the earphone socket. Naturally I was unable to play back a previously recorded sound so I fiddled with the settings (I'm descended from a long line of idiots). Then the penny dropped and I plugged the mic into the correct socket, now because of my fiddling I can't record clips that will play back. I can play back my earlier clips.
Is there any way I can record a series, have it record the reruns, but have it not record the same rerun twice? That way I can catch up on series that I have missed and not have to delete multiple episodes.
Maybe it does this automatically as I haven't recorded much yet, but I'm just making sure.
I cannot record some of my Recorded TV content to DVD as I get an 'Unsupported File Type' error when trying to do so in Media Center. But other Recorded TV shows burn fine without this error.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue and know why this is happening?
i'm using vlc to record a part of my favorite videos so i can upload them on Internet. there's a small problem, when i try to record hd videos i get a crappy quality, however the original video has a very good quality, consider the following video:
the original video, the one that i record this part from is having a very good quality (hd 720p), it's in mkv format and i guess it's x264. why do i get this quality?
i did the same thing with a non-hd video and it worked better: how can i record with the best quality? at least a quality as same as the original one?
I have an HP laptop with built in webcam and although I've use WMP to record myself there's no recording of sound. My computer plays the sound and it works well with skype.
If I want to record sound from PC I use Stereo Mixer and If I want to record sound from me I use Mic But can I do both at the same time?I've got Realtek HD?

I've got an Acer Aspire AX3900. I've just started writing songs again and want to use my computer for recording. I have downloaded Mixcraft 5 which seems pretty good but the sound quality is pretty bad (sounds distant, like I'm in another room). Can anyone recommend an additional soundcard? Would this make a difference? My budget is not great - £20 to £40. Is it possible/worth it to upgrade to a better soundcard from the factory installed one (I guess its on board) for this price?
I recently bought a Intel SSD 112Gb drive and install my window 7 ult. OS on it. I also have a 500Gb HHD that i install most of my game on.The program i use to record call "Fraps" i install it on the SSD drive, and the game on the HHD drive.I try to record a game play while i play and my FPS went from 60fps to 20 or so, which make it kinda spike lag a bit. The video file i save on the HHD drive, but i notice when i save it to the SSD drive is recored smoothly. I only have 112Gb that not alot for recording?
Why doesn't WMC allow you to record live radio? What's the difference between that and recording live TV? When listening to live radio, the Record button is grayed-out.
