View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Pro (RTM) installed on a DELL Precision M65 laptop.
My LAN interface reports "Cable unplugged" although the cable is inserted and working.
I have no network connection through this interface.
the onboard NIC is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit adapter and the driver reports it is working correctly.
If i try to install the latest driver from Broadcom, Windows says I already have the latest driver installed!
Any Suggestions?
I have recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, but when i inserted my Compaq Wireless adapter (network receiver or whatever it's called), USB, to connect my computer to my wireless network, windows doesn't detect it. It has worked fine on Windows XP on the very same computer, but now - nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few months later i wanted to upgrade my 32 bit to 64, since i could only use 3,16 GB ram, and my computer has 8GB. So i bought a win 7 home premium 64 bit and installed it. Now i face the same problem, my computer can not detect any wireless network adapter, though i'm 99% sure that my computer has one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bypassed my previous BSOD issue by simply replacing my HDD with a SSD and doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Pro.
Where the computer is currently located, I need to run wireless internet. To do this, I have used a NetGear wireless adapter "WNDA3100v2". It's a nice adapter, and it's worked fine for about 2 years, including immediately prior to adding my new SSD.
So I fire up my fresh copy of windows, and install my critical software. Once all of that is sorted, I go to install the drivers from the CD. I insert the USB adapter, and click next.
As soon as the adapter is inserted, Windows begins searching for a driver which fails. On the same instant that I click next, the proprietary software for the device says "detecting". This stays this way infinitely it seems, and never detects the device. If I just yank the adapter out, it will say "failed to detect", so this leads me to believe it is at least aware that it's there?
I tried to backdoor it, and ran a wired connection through my window, down the outside of the house, to my router LOL, and forced Windows to search for it's own updated driver. On most occasions, it just says "failed", but I was able to get it to find one last night, and it downloaded to 100% before it just hung up for a while, and then "failed".
I just upgraded my home network with wireless N.
USB wireless adapter is dlink DWA-130C, driver installed properly and windows 7 32bit detected it correctly as DWA-130C on device manager but it could not find any network in my area.
When I do troubleshoot, windows tell me that driver may not installed properly.
FYI it happened with my older G USB adapter too, when I uninstall the driver to update, it installed normally but then it does not detect any network. I have to do system restore to make it work again.
Any idea?
Just built a moderate spec gaming PC from scratch, and all has went according to plan except when I try to install Windows 7, my hard drive won't show up. My new motherboard doesn't have any IDE slots, but I only have an IDE hard drive. I am using a 'Pluscom Serial ATA PCI Adapter' to connect my hard drive to the computer as it has 1 IDE slot on it. I don't have a disc for drivers and don't know where to start. I am running Ubuntu on it at the moment so I can download any drivers I may need.

I am using a Dell Studio 1557 model. I downloaded the Windows Live Essentials update yesterday and it prompted me to restart my laptop. I meant to click "Postpone" but I clicked "Restart" accidentally. This was in the middle of while I was running Firefox and running Winamp (as far as I can remember). So when the computer was back on I noticed I totally lost the internet connection. Even though the CAT5 cable is connected, the laptop does not recognize it at all. It simply says "Not Connected". And just today I realized that whenever the Ethernet cable is connected to the computer the computer periodically(every other second or so)makes a faint buzzing noise. This is something I had not noticed before. I replaced the cable with a new one and the same thing still happens.I think the modem is working fine since my roommate can access the internet. On the modem where the lights should be on for my connection, it is periodically blinking.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, I upgraded the houses' internet to fiber (or so its called in Chinese, living abroad in Shanghai BTW)and the within the first day of upgrading, I've seen a tremendous increase in internet speeds. However, within a day, a new problem also came up.Whenever I plug the ethernet cable into its port at the back of my PC, all the open programs suddenly stop responding, and then my PC freezes. I've tried booting up without the ethernet cable plugged in, and everything works perfectly. Yet the second I plug in the ethernet, everything stops working. The conditions are as follows: -I am unable to CTRL - ALT - DELETE to bring up task manager.- The mouse cursor is still moveable, but nothing can be clicked or selected-The cursor turns into the spinning loading circle, but never finishes whatever it's trying to do.I am forced to manually power down (hold the power button or unplug) the PC.However, rebooting in Safe Mode with Networking yields no problems. The internet connects just fine, and there is no freezing/lagging going on at all. I'm currently posting this from Safe mode w/ Networking. The conditions are pretty much the same when I plug in the ethernet cable to my Macbook. Chrome, or whatever I'm using simply stops responding, and I get the spinning rainbow pinwheel of doom. Forced to manually power off. This has also occurred to a friends' Macbook when he plugged in the Ethernet in an adjacent room.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat's been going on with my HDMI port. 2 nights ago I was watching a movie through my Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop through my Panasonic HDTV. Yesterday, I tried to connect my HDMI cable to my laptop and computer, but nothing happened...So frantically I've been searching everywhere and trying what I have so far with no progress...
1.System Restore to earlier date when my HDMI port was working.
2.Toggle Computer/Duplicate/Extended/Projector Only and nothing worked(Also made sure tv was on the right HDMI input)
3.Tried 3 different HDMI cables and HDMI inputs
4.Uninstalled all sound drivers and Display Adapter(Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
5.Contacted Dell and had them try to reinstall drivers
6. Checked BIOS but I couldn't find any enable/disable feature for video.
7. Took battery out of laptop waited for 30 seconds pressed power button to reset.
My Panasonic TV doesn't even show up under my playback devices and when I try and do a dual screen through screen resolution it says another display not connected. I've tried going Intel HD Graphics Control Panel as well...no such Luck! Beginning to think that my HDMI port on my laptop is broken.
