View 1 Replies View Relatedso recently i put together a comp using my old HDD, CD-DVD Drive, CPU, and PSU. I bought a new Mobo, GPU, Ram, and case. Anyway i was messing with the CMOS because it wouldn't turn on, so i was resetting it(once or twice) and when it turns on now, the computer directs me to the system repair page. It gives me the option to go repair the system or start windows normally, but the arrow keys don't work on this page. They work on the system repair's next page however. So i got out my Win7 disk preparing to reinstall, but after i put it in it directs it to the same page still.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use the auto scroll feature on my mouse frequently to browse web pages. Before upgrading to win 7 (and ie8) when activated I could scroll using the arrow keys on my keyboard. Since upgrading the arrow keys no longer work. You can only scroll by moving the mouse itself. That function is very important to me as it allowed me to keep my hand off the mouse reducing the aggravation of carpal tunnel syndrome. Any fixes? I am not sure if this is an IE8 problem or win 7 as I only use the function when browsing the web.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with my keyboard where I'll hold down a key (either in a game, or other program) and it'll work for a few seconds, and then suddenly stop as I am still holding the key down. For instance, in any of my games, if I want the character to run a certain direction I hold the key down, and the character stops like I released the key, which I haven't.I have tried reintstalling the driver, updating it, changing USB ports for the receiver(its a wireless Keyboard and Mouse)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was fixing a laptop that was having several issues, (special keys wouldn't work properly, internet explorer would crash, PDF files wouldn't open, etc) and I found a suspicious file (C:User<user>AppDataRoamingElofenmoma.exe) that was booting on startup. Virustotal hit me with only 3 results for a trojan, which is actually quite low, but this file was clearly the problem, the details seemed to be in russian and it's Regedit entry was random letters.
So I cleaned all evidence of this file and now the keyboard works properly, but I'm still having problems with executable. Most of the times when I open a program nothing shows up, yet the process is running, after opening it 3 or 4 times one window finally opens, but there's still 3 or 4 idle processes before it with no window in sight. Some times when I force close the first process all the other windows suddenly show up. I also noticed that the processes for setups, chrome, internet explorer tend to stay idle even after closing them normally (in the program itself, manually closing the process works).Usually I would just format the PC, but this is a very complicated PC to format, the owner has tons of certificates that he needs and most of them he doesn't even remember how to reinstall them again.
I am having issues with my laptop. Sometimes when i type the letters turn into shortcut keys and when i am in the middle of an important school asignment I loose my work, because i can't do anything. I can use my mouse, but when i try to use my keyboard it is almost inoperable. I have even tried to use an external keyboard and the samething happens. I have used Rkill, malwarbytes, norton and ccleaner, but nomatter what i do it keeps happening. The only way i have been able to temperarily fix it is to restart the computer and the problem can come back in 30 minutes or it can come back in 10hours . it even happens when i play games.

View 9 Replies View Relatedlast night, without any reason, my f4, f5, f6, and esc keys stopped working. it solved itself, but shortly afterwords it did it again, and even after two reboots i cannot get them to work again. i use hotkeys all the time in firefox and elsewhere, and these are probably my most-used keys. they're very useful and not being able to use them feels really restricting. i don't know what caused this, but i do know that both times it happened i was browsing Internet. i don't know if that's coincidental or not, but at this point i just don't care.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded build 7600.16834 iso (x64) and looking at the website below which shows the install screens the RTM version is asking for a product key. Does anyone know what to use as a product key as I only have the RC Keys.
I am sure I have read somewhere that you can skip entering the key and then re-arm the RTM version for 120 days. Is this correct?
I don't want to wipe a perfectly good system only to get to the end of the RTM install where you input the key and be stuck there!
Windows 7 shortcut Keys for those who use them. "As with its previous counterparts (Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, Vista), developers of Windows 7 have made available many shortcut keys to make our lives easier. These shortcut keys are very similar to those of Windows Vista. We'll take a look at some of these shortcut keys below.
* New in Windows 7
* Managing Windows
* Starting Programs
* Logging In And Out
* Viewing Folders With Explorer
* Windows Sidebar And Gadgets"

Because I lost the use of my left arm in a bike accident a few years back, there are a few very important requirements though... I play more FPS games than any others, so here are a few must-haves:Must have a tilting scroll wheel that is easy to get to: I use this to strafe in FPS games. Must have at least 10 buttons: used for almost everything except moving forwards and backwards, I have a keyboard on the floor for that. Must be a decent size (palm-grip style mouse): I need to still be able to hold the mouse while I use all the buttons. Must have profiles: many games don't allow me to use certain keys, and I'm getting tired of changing the mouse button functions every time. Preferably wireless: I'm so used to wireless now that having a fixed cable just seems weird, and I prefer the heavier mice, which tend to be the wireless ones anyway... Price: no more than R1000 (approx $125 USD), but hopefully closer to the R700/R800 mark ($90/$100).
It's a bit difficult to find a list of mice with tilting scroll wheels.. I know virtually all of Logitech's mice have, while none of Razer's mice do, but there may be others that I don't even know about. Currently I'm looking at getting one of these two:Logitech G700 (13 buttons, hyper-scroll wheel) Roccat Kone+ (12 buttons, 22 functions with Shift+ key)
Or are there any others that would be worth looking at..?
I have a problem with Windows 7.
On the top of my notebook's keyboard there are some multimedia keys such as "Play, Stop ecc.." and I have a problem with Volume keys.
While I have to tap once on "Vol Up/Down"" to increase/decrease system volume of 10% in Vista, in Windows 7 every tap increases/decreases system volume of 2%.. it is very uncomfortable... Now.. does anyone know how to do in Seven the same thing I do in Vista?
