I have a problem with Windows 7.
On the top of my notebook's keyboard there are some multimedia keys such as "Play, Stop ecc.." and I have a problem with Volume keys.
While I have to tap once on "Vol Up/Down"" to increase/decrease system volume of 10% in Vista, in Windows 7 every tap increases/decreases system volume of 2%.. it is very uncomfortable... Now.. does anyone know how to do in Seven the same thing I do in Vista?
On my dell inspiron 15r the F1-F12 keys are covered by multimedia keys like volume, screen brightness, battery, internet, and other. I need to disable these because in some video games I play, I need to use these keys because they are set hotkeys that cannot be changed.

Sometimes when i type the letters turn into shortcut keys and when i am in the middle of an important school asignment I loose my work, because i can't do anything. I can use my mouse, but when i try to use my keyboard it is almost inoperable. I have even tried to use an external keyboard and the samething happens. I have used Rkill, malwarbytes, norton and ccleaner, but nomatter what i do it keeps happening. The only way i have been able to temperarily fix it is to restart the computer and the problem can come back in 30 minutes or it can come back in 10hours . it even happens when i play games.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to find a compatible driver for my Diamond XS51 sound card. I tried using the vista driver from the cd, but then it's not recognized as a surround sound card, the only speaker options are 2. trying to install that driver with compatiblity mode for vista SP1 causes a BSOD. I've also tried it for SP2 and again crashed windows. I'll try it as XP SP2 after i type this up and see if i crash with a BSOD again. In the meantime, does anyone know of a Windows 7 compatible driver for this card?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I've just had an entertaining day building and installing my new Win7 HTPC, and for the most part the beast has been brought to heel. I have a rather odd inherited wireless multimedia keyboard with a built-in analogue joystick and mouse buttons which I've been using with a Ps3, but on the grounds that it was a bit unusual I built the system using a bog-standard keyboard and mouse. Once everything was up and running, I connected the multimedia keyboard, which Win 7 happily recognised and set up.
Here's the thing- since it's a portable keyboard, there's no numerical keypad. If you try and type on the thing, you get QWERTY1234- everything from the 'U' to the right is scrambled. Down to the next row it's ASDFGH then numbers again.
I've not yet been able to find any way of specifying this layout as opposed to the country settings, or of setting different settings for multiple keyboards. Of course, I'd be happy enough to use the multimedia board on its own, if using it and a standard keyboard at once is impossible. I've tried starting up with only the multimedia keyboard connected, but no dice.
Wanted to download multimedia from one phone to the other via computer, Can I do this? I have Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using a Vista Computer which came with a multimedia keyboard. The multimedia keys can be easily programmed in the Keyboard item in the Control Panel. This works very well and lets me choose Eudora for the email program and call up the Character Map with the Calculator multimedia Key. Apparently Microsoft thought it would be easier for users to just pick a default program for each multimedia key. This gives the user much much less flexibility and since users have many different interests, flexibility is a great thing to have. In Windows 7 the Control Panel Keyboard item does show a grid like Vista, but the cells in the grid are blank. As near as I have been able to determine, there is no way to use the grid in Windows 7. HP technical support people, both telephone and email,but have not come up with a solution. The problem is made even worse, because I can't make Eudora the default email program, because it doesn't fit the current method of picking defaults. My newest computer is aWindows 7 that came with a multimedia keyboard. I wonder, if there a an acceptable solution I am missing? There was a tile when Microsoft's support was really outstanding and included outstanding documentation.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a microsoft keyboard with multimedia keys. I have assigned one of the multimedia keys to the Instant Viewer feature from Intellitype Pro. I like this feature and think it would be more useful to put it on the mouse button but I have searched and cannot find any .exe for the Instant Viewer to create a program shortcut. I was thinking I could get around this by creating a shortcut to the multimedia key instead and then assigning that shortcut to the mouse. This is not the same as pressing Alt + Tab or Ctrl + Alt + Tab. The Intellitype Instant viewer covers the whole screen when activated while Alt + Tab just gives you a thin horizontal strip in the middle.

In device manager there is a yellow ? mark by multimedia device and PCI input device, which I am sure is an audio card I installed trying to get sound. My system is a Gateway Desktop E - 4100, Sound Blaster Live audio card. Have all ready tried Intel, Gateway and Mircrosoft to locate the newest drivers to fix the multimedia drivers with no luck what so ever. I even payed and downloaded a program to scan and update my computer with the latest driver (DID NOT WORK) and spent hours and hours searching the web to locate the driver.

since I reinstall my window 7 ultimate for my compaq presario v5000, I almost tried all possible solution to bring back the audio of my PC. some of audio drivers that I downloaded from conexant, HP site like sp34567 are succesfully installed but the problem are still there, "cannot found device driver" I always restart the PC everytime I succesfully install the driver but always no audio.My question is, If ever I reformat my PC then reinstall again the window 7 ultimate, is there a possibility to solve the problem? here are my PC specs:

I have problem with my panel. After microsoft windows update panel just dont work, I can't even turn off lights at my lycosa, everything else is working right. This just happened after update and I dont know how to turn it on again. I think there where some settings which allow using such a panel. All drivers are ok, even razer macros works. Is there, in windows any option to turn on/off multimedia panel?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this HP HDX18 laptop for almost 2.5 years now. It came with Vista 64 bit installed which was later upgraded to 7 Home premium. It worked fine until Jan 2012 when it started slowing down to nothing. I got it checked and cleaned by the tech support for HP(pccare247) and also updated the drivers for sound, display and BIOS. Now the system runs fine until any media played whether offline or online. After that it slows down to nothing and the sound becomes crackling and also with a delay and distortion. The system slow down and the crackling sound does not come at the beginning and when it happens the CPU usage reaches 100% and stays above 90% until that multimedia is turned off. Also, the memory usage reaches 2.7 GB out of 8 GB and never comes below 2.16GB. What I noticed is as soon as I turn the WMPlayer off the CPU usage comes down all of a sudden to 15-20% and after sometime stays between 1-5% but the memory usage never comes down from 2.16, that is the minimum.
