My ipod is stuck at the start-up screen. It's a black screen with the apple logo and a bar under it, the bar is empty. How do i fix it so it loads and gets to the lock screen as usual?
I can not get my computer to start up. I have gone through the recovery start up, pressing F8 to get to the screen, after pressing system recovery, it just takes me to a blue screen and then back to the page that tells you windows failed to start up normally. I have tried safe mode, the same thing happens and then I tried last known good configuration. That led me back to a blue screen with nothing happening except the lights on the front of the computer blinking white several times, then orange back and forth. At one point it did go to a black screen with the lights on the front blinking, but it did that forever and nothing happened
My computer was working fine a couple days ago and all of a sudden got a terrible Trojan that would spam me with random IE ads. So I ran ad-aware and it got rid of the problem. I went to bed relieved but woke up to my computer in a black screen with just a single cursor "_" flashing. I figured it was a fluke and restarted. same problem.
So I decided to open up the computer and check the SATA drive connections. Everything looked fine but the problem still persisted. I decided that it could just be slot number 1 and moved it to slot 3. The computer would start up and go to desktop but all of my icons disappeared and the computer would just hang if I tried to open any file or go on the internet or any program.
Obviously, it was because the SATA drive was now in a new slot?? I'm not sure. But I put it back into slot 1 and went into the BIOS setup and sure enough, it was a "not detected" for slot 1. The main HDslot.
I tried to reset the BIOS using the jumper method and it still just hangs on black screen with cursor "_" flashing...
So I had finally got my first build ever running a few hours ago. Was so excited. I used the program wintoflash to copy my windows installation cd to my flash drive. Popped the flash drive in my new rig and booted it up. It went to installation and took a bit of time to completely install. As it restarted after install the windows startup came up and was continuously going for quite some time and never stopped. So where I am at is that I cant get past the start up screen.
I have tried so much. I pulled out the second stick of ram, the gpu.. ran memory check with no errors, tried re installing windows in many ways (different partitions).I tried running in safe mode but it just gets stuck at disk. The only thing I knoticed is that windows 7 installs faster the second time around, even after deleting all the memory on the hard drive (advanced option during install). I have browsed the web and nothing has helped. Just got a new mobo after replacing the last defected one today, so that cannot be the problem. Completely and utterly frustrated to be presented with another speedbump after all this hard work to get it running.
My rig: Intel i-5 3rd gen. Kingston hyperx 2x8gb AsRock b75m-dgs motherboard. nvidia gt 440 Western Digital Caviar 250gb 7200.
Like the title says, my computer is stuck on a black screen.I downloaded an update and was instructed to restart the computer. After restarting the computer it went to a black screen. It won't do anything past that. I've tried starting it in safe mode but always with the same result. I have no idea what to do with this short of taking it to Best Buy to have the geek squad take a look at it and frankly I don't feel like doing that.
my laptop will not load up. I can get it to the screen where it says repair computer, safe mode and all that. (advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.
I have puchased an ipod touch because my ipod nano was full. I want to use the songs from the nano on the ipod touch but also add more music to that Ipod Touch. Most of my music is from CD's.How should I add this new Ipod touch which has 32gb storage.I want to keep same music on the Nano but change playlists on it or delete songs and add others in the 4gb storage. Will the old Nano still sync when I make changes?
I am having a problem with my new HP desktop Win 7 pro, 3.3 ghz i5 sandy bridge, 8gb ram. I own the machine since about 3 month, in the beginning I was delighted with the speed, then gradually performance decreased (as with it has with all widosw machines I have owned) the last couple of days it has been getting stuck hopelessly while I was working with lightroom and photoshop (things I need for my job) and today I finally had enough and started scanning for malware. All scans returned negative so I thought I'll get rid of some of the software I don't need, I deinstalled an expired trial for Acrobat, after that the machine di not want to start up properly anymore (It would not load all programs on start up and never get to load the sidebar apps) so I went into a software I have called ccleaner and deactivated some start up programs I thought could be the cause (can't remember exactly which ones but mainly adobe updtaer and alike) It only made things worth, nowmost of the times I start up after entering the user password the screen stays black, sometimes it loads the desktop but many of the software icons in the start mennu are not loaded, If I use shortcuts like ctrl+Alt+shift to bring up the task manager it returns an erros message(this has actually been happening for a while in a couple of occasions, just now I tried to bring up the control panel.
I have been having many problems with my Presario HP CQ62 Notebook PC running Windows 7 Home Premium and I got so frustrated I picked factory default and I dont have any type of product key on me so what can I do?? Is there anything possible I might be able to do? I got some installation disks from a few of my friends one is the Windows 7 and I have tried 3 times already and it keeps getting stuck and wont start up. So the other two that I have are Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 can I even run that on my PC since I was running Windows 7 before
I can only boot up in safe mode Ive tried loading windows 7 disc to repair wont work in safe mode, did restore no luck, did panda safe disk reload did virus scan clean, did dskchk, tried start windows normal from f8 menu, last known good config etc.
have window 7 premium home addition. In the last 5 days when i start up my computer.windows 7 gets all the way to signing in then it just stalls for 5 minutes, then it finally logs in. After that it freezes up programs and sometimes i have to keep rebooting until the system decides to run smooth an not get stuck.I have run iorbit maleware, windows defender(but that freezes up), advance system care 5, i run windows update, and my anti virus program is avast. I am at a loss because I do not know why this is happening and have no clue how to fix it.
I was attempting to run chkdsk and went into Safe Mode -- no problems discovered. However, since then whenever I boot / reboot laptop Safe Mode screens reappear. Thinking back I don't recall any guidelines from any Win7 tech sites advising turning off Safe Mode. So, I initially assumed Safe Mode automatically reverted to the prior mode -- apparently an incorrect assumption. How do I get back to Normal Windows Start Up for Win7 Home Premium x64?
I got out of Safe Mode to restart somehow -- ESC key -- I did not force quit by turning off. Since then system now starts by scrolling thru 2-3 screens of "Loading: ... (various driver drive locations / various names)" and then Win 7 login screen comes in with Password box.
Everything else is running fine now except I suspect I need to go back to boot Safe Mode screen and turn Safe Mode off -- return it back to Start Win 7 Normally.
has a zoostorm freedom which was working fine and now it's not!! It is stuck in a start-up repair loop. My husband has tried to follow solutions suggested on this site but no joy. Have also tried to re-install windows 7 but no luck either. Took it to PC world and they can't h
My dell n5030 laptop isnt getting past the windows start up screen. It boots up fine up to the part where the four balls become the windows logo, but then freezes there everytime. When i try to select the windows start up repair it blacks out the screen and I cant do anything.

Ive just finished installing BitDefender and it asked me to´restart. and i did, but then i got stuck at the welcome screen. And it keept doing it all the time, Anyone know a solution??? I'd rather not install 7, again, because i have to many apps installed. btw, i can go into safe mode, can you fix it from there?
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T400 with Windows 7 32 bit. When I got home today and wanted to turn my laptop on, I couldn't get past the startup screen, displaying the thinkpad welcome message. I have tried pressing the ThinkVantage button, and all the f buttons, esc, delete, nothing works.I have also tried inserting my Windows disc into the disc drive but that does nothing either.
Yesterday I was listening to music until my netbook froze. When I restart it, the Asus eee grey screen came up and it is stuck there. Pressing F2 to go to set up did not work and pressing tab did not go to bios.
I now have another issue with my pretty new laptop. Windows won't start up. Well it starts up but when I get to the password screen and type that in my laptop just gets stuck on the welcome screen. I don't know what to do fix it. This all started last night when I accidentally pulled the power cord out of the wall and the CPU shut down. The battery pack wasn't in( didn't wanna bust my battery)
I Have a HP Dv4 Laptop runninh windows 7 that is not booting into windowsIt is getting stuck at the windows log on screenIt won't let me boot into safe mode.I was able to get all of the data off by using a Ubuntu CD and copying information to an external HD. The windows repair option is not working
I can't seem to shut down properly. It hangs on the shutting down screen and freezes (wheel stops spinning) I haven't managed to many BSODs but I have managed to get one, I've attached it. Any idea what the problem might be? I've tried restoring from previous restore point which then hung but windows said the restore was successfull

So I go on Windows, and I get to the welcome screen, after I enter my password, the spinney loader thingy just goes forever. I have to manually shut down and start back up multiple times before I can successfully logon again. After I finally got on, I saved the even log into a file, this includes all events since i turned it on and it got stuck. This occurance of the stuck welcome screen happens every once in a while
I am having a issue with my shut down.... when try to shut down my pc it gets endlessly stuck on the "Shutting Down" screen I have left it for over 12 hours with no change.

I've had a problem with a particular folder on my desktop for a while now and have finally decided to fix it. There is a folder that has some thing to do with Camtasia 7 (Software for screen recording and video editing) stuck on my desktop that I can't delete/rename.
So I turned on my computer today which has no OS on it because I wanted to do a clean install and it is not seeming to go post the boot screen. It won't even let me into the BIOS info. Anyone know whats going on?
I just installed a new motherboard into my compaq preserio and when the computer starts up I am greeted with a black screen that says "loading operating system...". When I plug the original motherboard in I am greeted with a black screen, nothing happens after that. I have already installed the new motherboard's drivers but thats was when it crashed. I ran a diagnostic on it and it gave me error BIOHD 3, which I believe means that the drivers couldnt be found. So I am stuck at a stand still until I can find a fix.
I've had Windows 7 installed for approx. a year without this problem occurring in the past. There was an update last night which I applied on shutdown. This morning, when I boot up my machine, it went to the login screen. After logging in, the screen is stuck on the "Welcome" and the spinning wheel. I restarted and booted into safe mode with success, and attempted to restore to the point before the updates. Same problem occurred, and when I rebooted into safe mode, it said that System Recovery was not able to find the previous restore point. I then tried the restore point before that, and the same problem occurred. Also, my hard disks appear to be functioning fine.

She was on Facebook printing pictures of her niece. She go one printed and when she clicked on the next one she wanted the screen locked up and see can't leave that site. I have had her unplug her printer and turn off her computer. That did not help. and I had her take the battery out of the computer. She left it out full a full night and then when she put it in the next morning her computer still went straight to the Facebook picture she had been trying to print.
