so i start instalation and after the first reboot and im waiting for the
"completing instalation" screen but then my screen goes to the pic
i tried using a S.video to link it but it doesnt send out any images other that the mouse is visible when i move it around .
any ideas on how i may fix this its really bugging me that i have no OS
I've been running windows 7 for about a year and half so I want to re-install just to keep my computer running fresh.I've changed the boot menu to boot from disk in my BIOS, then I get the message, "press any key to boot from disk" next windows starts loading files, and then it takes my to a pale blue windowed themed screen with no icons and just a huge mouse arrow which I can move.How can I get to screen that will ask my if I want to install windows?This is a genuine windows DVD. dandred has chosen the best answer to his/her question.Click here to view the answer that was selected.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a new laptop and im trying to put windows 7 on it. 64bit. Everything goes well until it goes to first boot up. When it goes to first boot up after that display of weird lights on the bottom. It restarts it self and then goes to boot though vista, Which isn't there any more cause i wanted to format to get rid of blotter where. After it boots though vista it goes to a grey screen then all of a sudden a ERROR comes up in what looks like a text document.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I just installed a new motherboard and heatsink w/fan into my system and reinstalled everything from the old system(ram, cpu, gpa, psu, dvd burner, network card, ect).I formatted the hard drive before the swap to do a clean install. During the swap of computer components, I pulled the CMOS battery for a few seconds to reset the bios.During the install of windows, it usually comes up to the point of copying files or decompressting files, the screen cuts out, then the monitor goes into standby due to no signal.The video card is an AMD Radeon HD 6450 1gb.I seen somewhere that Win7 sometimes has issues with certain AMD card base drivers (not sure that its called, but the simplified driver used before the full drivers are installed).Currently I am rerunning memtest86 to test the ram, already ran the harddrive utilites to test the hard drive and so far both have 0 errors.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwell i downloaded Windows 7 and now everything is HUGE. It says the size of my monitor does not meet the requirements to run over 600 resolution. however, i have a monitor well capable of running that.
I have a dell 2300 and the only drivers i can find are for xp on their site. I have been told maybe the graphics card is not strong enough, however, it is only 4 years old. Is it that big of a deal.
I need some help. I am not currently at my computer but i will update with system stats. when i get back.
SO i jsut got a limited edition windows 7 ultimate 64bit cd and i previously has windows 7 64bit rc installed and when i install the disc i just got it installs fine and everything but when it restarts it goes to the finishing installation and then it starts to boot up but gets stuck at blk screen with the mouse. I have had this problem before with windows 7 rc but all i had to do was just start it in safe mode then shut it down from there and start it back up it normal mode and it worked, but this i cannot do that.
I go to safe mode and it goes to applying settings screen (doesnt do this in normal mode like it should) but it says it cannot finish this in the safe mode... so yeah... I am getting pretty mad because this is the final version of the software and it shouldnt have this problem.
I just got Windows 7 Pro 32 bit as a early Christmas gift and was excited to try the new OS. I have been running XP pro for years and my current system works great. I backed up my files and tried to load it on a RAID 0 configuration. It started just fine then it got to the splash screen and froze. After about ten minutes I realized this was not normal so I ejected the disk and it moved to the next screen which is the windows wallpaper.
It said windows is “starting up” and froze again and continued to freeze throughout the process. I did a custom install. I repeated the process until it started to expand the files then nothing. It said it couldn’t recognize my hard drives. I deleted all raid partitions and rebuilt the raid array. I tried to reload it again and still nothing. I reloaded XP then ran the installation disk. It loaded up Windows 7and after several ejects Windows 7 was running. I tried to load Office 07 and it wouldn’t load. The CD sounded like it was working but it seemed like the disk could not be recognized.
I downloaded all the updates and correct drivers and Office 07 still wouldn’t load. After several hours and repeated attempts to get it working right, it crashed. I have not been able to get it to work at all. I tried again to load Windows 7 but I gave up thinking I am missing something but I don’t know what. I have since loaded XP back up and I am looking for any help at all as to what the problem might be. I ran the advisor and it said my system can run Windows 7. The Mobo disk has an updater but there were no new bios files available. I am stuck. My comp specs are below, maybe it might shed some light on the problem. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
I have been using the Windows 7 beta (build 7000) since the day it came out publicly without any problems. I downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the RC. Whenever I try to install either version I get a BSOD during the install. The DVD boots, it goes through the first Grey Progress bar, shows the new windows boot splash animation, then goes tot he BSOD with both versions.
The message says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the bottom displays:

I have tried systematically disconnecting ever component I could one at a time. I have 3 SATA Hard Drives connected, which I disconnected one at a time, and tried only one plugged at a time.
I took out my Belkin Wireless Card
I disabled the SATA, PATA, Network, and integrated sound one at a time in BIOS
Reset BIOS to "Fail Safe Options"
None of these things worked. I am really enjoying Windows 7, and I hope there is a solution to this. I would like to upgrade to the RC, and I hope it is definitely fixed before the beta times out.
The last thing I could think it would be related to is the Motherboard itself, which I dont know any way to get around. I am running a ABIT IB9 with the latest BIOS updates installed.
Video Card is ASUS, Model EN8400GS SILENT, I would remove that, except I obviously wont be able to SEE anything, and I don't have any other PCI-E cards laying around.
I've had this issue on two builds now (issue came out the blue on the first build and assumed, wrongly of what part had broken), upon the final part of the install where the installer states finishing install the monitor goes blank (no cursor etc) in the same manner as during a graphics driver install however it fails to return to the rest of the install, occasionally if left blank for long enough and the system is restarted it will boot up and into windows. However upon installing the ati drivers for my radeon 4870x2, and restarting, windows will then hang on the loading windows logo and not progress further. I have read on the forums that this may be due to the power supply, however the power supply is of a different model (850w XFX Black Edition), however i have only had this power supply a small amount of time as i bought it to replace a corsair psu that died on me. Across the builds I have swapped (and tested in other machines) every part except the hard drives and the power supply and have experienced the same issue. After approximately 5-6mins of the loading windows logo it displays a quick blue screen then restarts. Current build specs are: ASUS M4A88T-M motherboard4 gig of corsair xms 3 ramradeon 4870x2and athlon 2 x3 (3.2ghz) Just wanting a second opinion before i splash out on another power supply.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, heres the deal, I have been trying to install windows 7 on this pc for awhile now, I cannot figure this problem out no matter how hard I try.
The installation goes fine up until 'finishing installation' when which the screen just goes black and never does anything, ever overnight.
After restarting it will goto the logo screen and then just load onto a black screen, again never doing anything further.
Finally, when attempting to access safe mode, it loads up to classpnp.sys and then freezes.
Now, I have tried many many things to fix this and done lots of Googling but nothing has worked, other versions of Windows install and work fine.
Things tried...
1. swapping video cards
2. Switched monitors (I have read there can be an issue relating to this with needing a VGA plugged in however my card does not offer VGA, nor do I have onboard video.
3. Multiple installs of diff win 7 versions
4. Bios tinkering and restoring defaults.
5. many other things...
If someone could somehow help figure this out, then well I would be really appreciative...
I just bought windows 7 for my desktop. It will load past the "windows is loading files.." page. then it will load to the "starting windows" page with the flag, then it loads to the normally welcome screen for windows 7 but nothing comes up.. its just the welcome screen background.
Anyone with info on this please reply.
I just recently built a computer but im having trouble installing win7 home premium 64bit. Its a brand new OEM copy. When i finish installing from the disk and my comp reboots I blue screen when trying to load windows. It also never asked for my license code which i thought was weirdprocessor is AMD FX4100Motherbord ASUS M5a97EVOI can tell you the rest but i figured it shouldnt matter for this
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have booted off of my asus optical drive into the windows 7 pro into the install page. at the first stage where it says select language/timezone etc the screen has frozen and i now cant use my mouse or keyboard at all. the optical drive activity light also does not flash at this point. this is my first install i have done myself so i am struggling on a solution to this. i have also restarted and the same issue occurs. what would you guys recommend?

Well it had been awhile since I reloaded windows and found out about win8 so I decided to try the new windows 8 release preview. After it installing it, It would go past the windows loading screen and leave a blank screen. Disappointed I went to load windows 7. Installed fine, but after the first restart it will not go past the windows logo screen.
When I say I'm reloading windows I am not formating my harddrive. I'm running a single harddrive setup and have 500gig of entertainment and miscellaneous I have not way to backup. I do the write over partition thing where it throws everything in a windows.old folder. I'm considering getting a solid state just to load windows to. Formatting the current drive is not an option.
I can boot to safe mode, but being this is a new install there is nothing I did to undo.
I have just bought a Zoostorm PC off of eBuyer as it was only £150. I am trying to install Windows 7 on it. I boot into the DVD no problem, get the usual grey "Windows is loading files" progress bar and then the windows logo saying windows is starting. At this point the screen goes black and everything stops.After some googling and numerous different possibilities it seemed most likely a graphics driver issue. I have an nVidia GeForce 210 that ive put in to see if this helps, and i get the same issue but this time i get a mouse pointer in the middle of the black screen. If i keep moving the mouse the cursor moves for a second after the windows logo disappears then freezes.
* Resetting the BIOS to defaults.
* Using the onboard graphics
* Using my graphics card
* Re-seating the RAM
* Slipstreaming the SATA drivers into the Win 7 Install DVD.
* Changing SATA mode to AHCI, IDE and RAID.
I have also tried installing windows XP. This is successful and detects the hard drive without me having to specify additional drivers. Upon restarting the PC and booting into the second part of the install it freezes on the pale blue wallpaper that setup uses.
during a clean install, after expanding and updating and it says "completing..." it resized the screen and then it freezes forever.
I have tried dozens of different ways to install windows7, from reinstall a clean install of vista and then just trying to upgrade, to many clean installs on windows 7.
Not only i cant load Windows7, but when i installed vista again, I cant get the media center to recognize my internal tv tuner.
My computer would not get past the start up screen � it just froze at the Windows 7 logo. Prior to this, I had absolutely no problems. I shut it down one night and came to start it the next morning and it wouldn't load. I format the drive and tried to reinstall Windows 7. It seemed to load everything fine and got to the "Completing Install" part, then just flicked to a completely black screen with a blinking line in the top left-hand corner.I did read on one forum that perhaps it was a RAM issue, so I removed one stick and the process actually completed! I thought I had nailed it. After setting my computer back up and with everything working just fine, I put the RAM back in. On restart, it locked at the logo again, so I figured it was definitely bad RAM, HOWEVER!! Even with the RAM now removed, I cannot get Windows 7 to reinstall. I am still getting this awful black screen with a blinking cursor.

I get through the installation process which recognizes the drive and lets me install on it and seems to fully install. When it automatically restarts and the windows loading screen should appear, the computer just restarts itself and doesn't even let me get to windows.I've tried messing around with some of the BIOS settings, but I'm no expert in that and I seem to be running out of options.I've tried installing the x64 and x82- both give the same problem.One potential thing I'm seeing is that after the initial screen showing my computer specs on start up, I have a RAID screen which AFAIK shouldn't really matter too much since I'm just using one HD, but it does not detect any drives. Going into the RAID setup I can't change anything either because it needs to install something (which I can't - no floppy) or it won't let me for this configuration. My motherboard is a Foxconn 915G7AC/P7AC (unfortunately not the best when it comes to drivers and support stuff, hey - it was cheap and had good reviews when I bought it!)4 Gigs of RAM.My cd/dvd drive is SATA as well, in case that matters (from what I've read searching around other drives being SATA or IDE had some sort of effect)

I've been using this PC in this configuration with no changes since November, 2009 when I upgraded my PC, and haven't had any problems with it until recently. I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my PC again, and came to a blank screen after the reboot. I have the PC hooked up to a TV using the S-Video output on my graphics card, and suspect that win 7 is using the DVI port instead. There is no way at the moment that I can use the DVI port because I don't have a monitor that supports it.
is there a way around this so I can use the S-video output for the rest of the installation?
I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a new SSD, my old hard drive crashed. My video card is an onboard ATI Radeon HD 4250. Initial setup works fine, but when the computer reboots it comes back up blank. I'm already running two monitors, one VGA and one DVI, and safe mode doesn't work either, I've tried booting from a flash drive and a dvd with exactly the same results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Dell XPS 15 (l521x) that came with Windows 8. The system boots from the hard drive through UEFI by default, so I think the hard drive is already GPT. I am attempting to install Windows 7 from a UEFI bootable USB. The system goes through the 'copying files' phase and then goes to the Starting Windows screen. As the colored dots of the Windows logo are circling, the system freezes. Can someone help me fix this problem? The following are the steps I took in order to install Windows 7:
- Formatted a brand new 4GB USB drive to FAT32
- Downloaded Windows 7 ISO (I have a key)
- Extracted ISO files to USB
- Made adjustments so that USB is UEFI bootable (efi/boot/bootx64.efi)
- In BIOS, set SATA Operation to AHCI and disabled Secure Boot
- Select USB drive from UEFI boot menu
Using a booting USB and selecting clean install, the install completes mostly, it reboots a few times like normal. When it should be time to enter the key, the screen is completely black *except* for the Windows 7 watermark.
Are there any known issues with this board and the on-board graphics chip?
Can anybody recommend a HDMI card to drive my Plasma Display that has good 7 support?
When I run the Windows 7 Home Premium OEM disc I get past "loading files" and then freeze on "starting windows". I see 4 little colored balls in the center of the screen (guessing the start of the MSFT logo) and then everything freezes.

GPU: 5850 is backordered, so am using an old Nvidia 6600 GT to attempt to install Windows - connected to monitor with DVI cable
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium OEM
I've done lots of research and tried:
1. Using a PS2 keyboard/mouse
2. Disabling USB in bios
3. Disabling just about everything else in bios
4. Tried w/ 2MB, 4MB and 6MB ram
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
windows 7 won't install ,blue screen of death comes up & tells me a problem has been detected & windows has shut down 2 prevent damage to your computer, tells me to check for viruses & remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers then run chkdsk/f to check for hard drive corruption. technical information *** stop:0x0000007b(0x80786b58,0xc0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000. used cd to instal is brand new pc with no previous software , also can't find drivers?
