View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to downgrade from iTunes 10.5 to a version that doesn't crash (see my previous thread). However, whenever I do this, I cannot import my Library file (.itl) because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use iTunes on my Windows 7 computer to sync with my iPhone, and the last time I went to open iTunes it gave me the error message "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."I had heard that if I uninstalled Quicktime (which is bundled with iTunes when that is downloaded), then reinstalled it separately, it would work again, but after trying that it didn't. So I decided to just uninstall iTunes, then reinstall it. However, every time I try to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, it just sits there saying it'll be about eight more seconds to go to finish deleting, but it just sits, and sits, and sits...... Nothing. I also tried to just install the newest iTunes on top of the existing one, but every time I try it tells me that it's already installed and to click "Ok." So I can't uninstall it, nor can I install it, nor will iTunes open on its own. I had done a system restore recently, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this isn't an Apple forum, but hope someone may be able to answer this one. If I make a DVD copy of the contents of my iTunes library on my Windows 7 PC, will my new iMac be able to import the backup, or are the file types that different?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems for a few weeks with a crashing computer. When I tried to open "Programs and Features", it would crash every time. No crash dumps. No BSOD. Just a hard reboot like some yanked the plug out. It would also happen randomly.
After running countless tests on hardware, checking for viruses, and TWO re-format and clean installs, I finally isolated the problem to iTunes. I was just about finishing my 2nd rebuild, and it was working just fine. I installed the iTunes 10 64-bit version, and BAM, it started crashing. I then installed Revo Uninstaller, and removed iTunes and all of the other Apple crap from my machine. Voila! No more problems.
I would like to be able to have iTunes installed so that I can manage my iPods, but can't seem to have it on there without hosing up my system.
how do i copy all of my iTunes data/music onto my external Hard drive, then download iTunes (empty with no songs in it yet) on my new win 7 pc. and then copy my iTunes music from external HD to new iTunes? i tried i couldn't seem to copy music to External HD.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently plugged in a friends iphone (bob) and accidentally pressed import files rather than explore. In the autorun menu. Now when I plug my iPhone in, Windows is saying that Bob's iPhone is plugged in, instead of mine.Which is rather weird. Any ideas how to fix/reset to default? My phone is named correctly in iTunes and that recognizes it correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI previously had iTunes installed on my laptop (see specs below), but when the newest version came out, I kept getting error messages (shown below) when I tried to update to the latest version. Therefore, I completely removed iTunes from my laptop with the goal of doing a re-install from scratch. However, I continue to receive the same error messages as before (I say "continue" because I've tried several times with the same result each time). The installation begins without any problems, but after a few seconds, I get the first error message (see below), and then when I click OK, it runs for a few more seconds, and I get the second error message (see below). I am not having any other problems with my system, and I have run several anti-malware and -virus scans to make sure the problem in not an infection? And, by the way, the same thing happens when I right click the iTunes set-up icon and select "Run as Administrator".

I have a Dell Studio 1569 with Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB RAM, Intel i5 Core.
When I plug my iPhone into the USB port and open iTunes, iTunes says "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer." Then I'm asked if I want to "Set up as a new iPhone" or "Restore from the backup of:"
I've already connected this phone in the past. However, each time I reconnect, I have to either restore or create a new phone, both of with require deleted and losing info and media on my iPhone.
I've read about the Gigabyte P55 BIOS update. My computer doesn't have a Gigabyte Motherboard. I tried that fix anyway and the program wouldn't let me run it because it's not a Gigabyte product. I've read in some places that on some Dell laptops, the USB ports don't work well with iPhones. That's absurd and I can't imagine that would be the proble; I hope that's not the issue.
so i recently had a HDD crash and got a replacement, loaded Windows 7 x64 premium back on it, put all my software on it that i use, and notoice that when i load up itunes 10.5.2 (current version) it changes my theme settings and says "the color scheme has been changed to windows 7 basic" now i've gotten this before running legacy programs, no problem... but itunes is 64 bit, and i use it heavily. and before the reload i never had this issue before.
i'm thinking this could be a driver issue? i did have an issue with all my internal HDDs reading as external ejectable media, but fixed it with sata drivers.... i got the driver for my GPU, but still did nothing to fix this.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop and constantly am running into the issue with iTunes always freezing up either when I open the program or while it's minimized, scrolling through my library, or in the iTunes Store. I have uninstalled it and all of its components one by one, re-installed and it will only work for so long before it acts up again.

When I am prompted to download the newest version of itunes it gets to about 75% on the progress bar then completely freezes indefinitely. I don't get any error messages, it just stops progressing with the installation. I think its 10.5.3.
My iPhone 3gs will appear in iTunes and sync after reloading all Apple Software for two or three connections, then iTunes no longer initializes when the iPhone is connected. If I deinstall all Apple Software and re-install all the software, iPhone will work normally two or three times then becomes a ghost once again, Windows 7 PRO 64 does detect it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night, whilst plugging my iphone 4 s into my windows 7 based PC with 64 bit to back up my phone things went horribly wrong. The system told me in itunes that i need to down load the latest upgrade for itunes.I tried this and with my phone plugged in through a USB port to charge it went haywire. At the same time, as i was down loading the latest itunes 10.6 update, up pops the words "A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: C:windows installeritunes 64 msi". So i went back to the download page and clicked on the other download link and this time this message came up;This itunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows. Please download and instal the 64-bit itunes installer instead.I could not find that installer so used other recommended installers, to no avail.I tried re-installing the 64 bit version at least 6+ times from other sites, but the same error message keeps coming up as the 1st one i wrote above. My iphone 4s is stuck on a picture showing a USB cable going to an itunes symbol. It will do nothing. It won't turn on/off and now my computer won't even recognize it when plugged in! Where did the driver go all of a sudden?I reset my PC to a couple of days ago, then tried loading the program again, made no difference. I have updated drivers, iphone on the list, but not showing any problems.I need to go get another phone now as i run several small businesses and need client contact all the time, but will answer this forum as soon as i can.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 120 GB Classic iPod. I've had it for a couple years, and I managed it with my old laptop (Vista). I got a new laptop (W7) recently so I copied my iTunes library on to a external HDD and moved it to the new laptop. I tried to use it with my new laptop for the first time several days ago, but it wasn't detected.
When I plug it in or remove it the backlight comes on, but neither my laptop, iPod, or iTunes show any indication that the iPod is actually connected. No sync screen on the iPod, no data popping up in iTunes, no USB device connection manager on my toolbar. What's going on? I tried resetting the iPod, but that didn't work.
Yesterday, I decided to do a little experimenting. I tried my iPod with my new laptop. It didn't work. I tried both USB 2.0 ports but no dice. I poked around in the device manager and didn't see anything that I thought might correspond with an iPod. No "USB mass storage device" or anything like that.I tried my iPod with my old laptop and it did work.I decided to pop in my new laptop a never before opened flash drive that I purchased recently. It installed properly. I checked both USB ports and it was detected in both of them.
I'm trying to ugrade from Vista to Widows 7 but keep getting the follwing message: [code] The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.Windows needs to be restarted so necessary changes to system files can be made before continuing. These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.) iTunes (Please deauthorize computer prior to upgrade)I have already deauthorised it but it continues to come up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed iTunes on my Windows 7 machine and set up the library location on a removable flash drive since my employer doesn't allow us to store media on the C: drive. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7. I was installing i-tunes and when it asked to restart my computer I restarted it. When it logged back in the desktop was like in the beginning - the desktop theme was some default picture not the one I had put on, no additional programs were not installed and the worst part - my user folder on the desktop was completely empty! All of the folders My Music, My Pictures etc. had only Sample Pictures and Sample Music in them. I tried searching for my files but they cannot be found. Even worse - in My Computer the Local Disk is shown to be almost empty, like all of my files hadn't been there. So is there any way I can find and restore my files?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe just had a Dish Hopper installed and tried using their Home Media program which looks at Windows Media Player for music. I can play the music from 2 of my 3 computers but the 3rd one won't play.I checked the 2 computers and I can play the music from there. When I try the 3rd computer I get: The file you are attempting to play is missing or corrupt or not in a location that is currently not available?I removed WMP and had to "turn Windows Futures off" and WMP was available, the problem is it is still linked to the corrupt files. How do I remove the corrupt files and direct WMP to the correct location?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy old computer crashed and I'm now on a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I installed the latest iTunes successfully, but found that my iPhone 4 is now not syncing with it. It can detect the phone, but it's not adding or deleting anything - apps, music or photos. I used to be able to select a Photo Folder to sync from the PC hard drive, but now it no longer works. It, however, works well with my notebook which is running on Win Vista.
There is no error message, the sync and backup apparently goes on only for a few seconds, and then iTunes says it is searching for which apps to install but nothing changes. Even when I've clicked Apply.
I've also tried closing iTunes and I've rebooted the phone but no dice. I've also uninstalled iTunes to reinstall. Doesn't work either. And yes, I installed with the 64-bit installer.
When I try to download programs, they either stall at 1% or are extremely slow and estimate they will take days.
