Gateway Nv53 Windows 7 X64 Reinstalled System And Still Getting BSOD
Aug 16, 2012
I have a gateway nv53 Windows 7 X 64 I reinstalled system 2 times with the purchased media. and still getting BSOD it doesnt stay up long enough to read it. Both times I removed norton and best buy app the first time i installed Microsoft security essentials the second time i installed Avira
Just yesterday I noticed that my Windows experience index scored my processor at a 2.9 when it has always been way higher than that. It caused me to investigate and download a program called CPUID to see how my processor was actually running, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to go higher than 800MHz. As of recent my laptop has been getting extremely hot and sometimes overheating and shutting down (even though I can hear the fan running)... Is it possible that my computer is running so hot that it's attempting to protect itself from overheating by locking my computer to run no higher than 800Mhz?
The brightness settings on my NV53 gateway are no longer available. The fn up or down combination to change the brightness are no longer functioning however the keys are all working. (fn, up, down, all work fine separately) and when I go into the control panel, I cannot find any settings for brightness, this all happened at the same I got a google redirect virus 'gringo' an admin here, we've cured my virus.
I just re-installed windows 7 to my pc after a recent update caused it to completely crash. Now, about an hour after i turn on my computer it randomly decided to reboot (but not before flashing the BSOD of course).
By "blank" I mean an empty laptop hard drive. I'm going to have my hard drive replaced, so I believe the new hard drive won't have an operating system installed on it. So if I create a system image and store it in an external HDD, will I be able to reinstall the OS simply py plugging the external HDD into the laptop ?
I did a restore to factory default then it says it's missing something. Then I restarted it now it says missing operating system. The I have a gateway desktop.
I was having boot problems with my p8p67 so i decided to reinstall. Well I've been having problems since apparently my HDds are in GTP rather then mbr. So when I'm selecting the hard drive in windows install it gives me errors
I lost my copy of windows 7 ultimate. I reinstalled windows 7. before doing this i copied down what control panel said my product key was. after reinstalling come to find out that wasnt the product key. How do i find out what my product key was.
I completely formatted my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I put in the correct product key and then when I attempted to connect to the internet I couldn't because I don't have the correct drivers. Back when I used to use Windows XP I put a little CD in and then installed the drivers from Device Manager but now with Windows 7, I put the CD in and I can't install the drivers. They show up with a tiny symbol with a yellow exclamation mark on it (it was like this too back when I used XP, but I had no problems then,).
I reinstalled windows 7 on another drive I have and it wont start up. I get the BIOS flash screen and then a blinking text cursor. Nothing else.. But get this.. when I put my old HDD back in the computer allows me to select between the 2 different windows installs on both drives and it lets me boot into the fresh install on the new disk.. But only when the old disk is in.
Until recently, I was running a bootlegged Windows 7 copy. Finally I broke down and bought it from a friend at Microsoft. But now all my driver software is lost. Where can I find an online driver updater that won't kill me with viruses? And is there anything else I should do to protect my system?
I had to re install windows 7 and wipe my hard drive due to a BSOD, when i try to connect to the internet it says I am missing drivers, when I click download drivers it tells me it can't find any.
I bought this roughly a year ago PB Tech - NBKLEN1252535B : LENOVO IdeaPad G570 Sandy Bridge i5-2410M 2.3GHz 8GB (4Gx2) DDR3 640GB 15.6" ATI HD6370M 1G DEDICATED VGA BT2.1 2.0MP HD Webcam 802.11n DVDRW HDMI Win7 Home Premium 64bit 6Cell I re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium yesterday and discovered I lost all my drivers and device management/disk management/computer manage etc shows no manufacturers name for each driver needed. tell me which drivers I need for my laptop to be running as good or as close to new as possible by what's just listed on the website?Note- I don't even have ethernet card driver!
I was using my laptop fine for a few month now. I let a friend use it for a week and he "somehow" got a virus . I wasn't too stressed as i didn't have any personal information or anything important on it. So i reinstalled Windows using my flash drive, the iso from the Windows 7 Professional 64bit CD i had, and the Windows USB-DVD tool downloaded from Microsoft. I changed the boot priorities in BIOS to my USB drive, went through the installation setup and formatted all the partitions on my HDD and installed windows 7 professional 64bit. It loads up and for the most part works fine.First off my resolution will not go above 1024 x 768. Even though previously it was a lot higher, can't remember exact resolution, but was higher than that. Next, when i go to device manager, the following are listed under Other Devices with Yellow Exclamation points by them; Ethernet Controler, Network Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, and SM Bus Controller. I've Googled, searched these forums, and tried each solution out there. But to no avail.I purchased the laptop from Best Buy but i do not have any kind of recovery CD's.
Basically i think windows is not properly recognizing the hardware i have installed. Because the laptop screen can go to a higher resolution, but windows won't recognize it properly. Even Windows Aero isn't working properly, and the computer is marketed as a gaming laptop, so i know it has the graphical power.Feel free to explain in detail as i'm pretty good with computers but this problem has me stumped. And for a person that will not stop until something is fixed, its driving me crazy.I'm doing this off another laptop i have that has access to the internet (obviously). So if there are any programs i need to download i have the ability to do so.
I've reinstall my Windows 7. But now i don't know the reason why my CPU always show that 100% CPU, even when starting! I've found that in window task manager there are three processes: cmd.exe, cmd.exe*32 and again, cmd.exe, (I don't run them) and if I end them CPU usage will be normal.
I just reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium because I had about 4 redirecting issues or viruses when I would use any search engine. Anyway. Now I can't run a program that ran perfectly before. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I used the compatibility trouble shooter. The only thing I haven't done is get all my drivers yet. Could not having all my drivers make a program unresponsive or do you think it is a separate problem. Like I said it worked perfect before and the only difference is I had all my drivers installed.
I had a redirect virus...uninstalled & then reinstalled windows 7 home premium. I also saved my documents. However, when I just went to open my documents, they wouldn't open because they end in .doc
So I recently wiped my harddrive due to a blue screen and reinstalled windows 7. Now it won't connect to the internet at all. It is wired to a wireless linksys WRL54GL but does not detect it.
I was thinking I may need to update some of my network drivers, which is going to stink doing that offline. I just wanted to make sure there aren't any more routes I could go to fix this problem
I have a Sony Vaio VGN FS115B laptop. I have just reinstalled windows 7 ultimate and now I cannot get the screen resol;ution that I need which is 1280x800.

The other day I bought a new HDD, and decided to do a clean install of Windows 7 for it. After getting it all installed and installing all the drivers and Windows updates, I decided to watch a movie. I then realized that the audio volume was (as a ballpark guess) 20-30% quieter than I was used to. I rebooted and loaded up the old Windows install, since I still have it, and started up the movie and the volume was back to the level that I was used to.Reinstalled drivers; From motherboard website, from Realtek website, and even went over and backed up the drivers on my old install to reinstall on the new drive.Checked all audio panel settings, made sure everything was turned up and set the same as my old install. Made sure it wasn't an issue with the media player program I was using; Reinstalled it and made sure the settings were the same as my old install. [code]
I bought this computer as an custom product. It was fine but it slowed down drammatically over the past week. So some people suggested i should try to reinstall Windows 7. The installation went fine but when I was done with the installation i found out lots of things were not functioning any more. For example the computer can't detect the graphics card and claims that it only finds the Standard VGA thingy. I used to connect to interest with Lan cable to the router but that doesnt work either as no options showed up when i want to connect to a new network. Sound isn't working either as it says no headphones detected while there was one plugged in all time. The sata-3 usb port isnt working at all. So is there anything i can do to fix this total mess and get back to work soon? I did create an system image before i reinstalled the system but that wasn't recognized when i have the hard drive plugged in. So everything was in an chaos and i have no clue what should i do next.
I have an Alienware m15x running windows 7 64bit and recently reinstalled to try and improve performance. I installed using the cd, and then used the resource cd to install any drivers. Everything on the disk was installed, but I still can't connect to any wireless networks. Troubleshooting either says there are no networks available, or that I need to connect an ethernet cord.
I downloaded all drivers from the alienware and dell sites, and sill nothing.
I've tried all drivers, reinstalling and installing drivers in different orders and nothing is working.
