Extract Hyper Terminal From Windows XP Professional ISO File?
Dec 6, 2011
I have WinRAR and have extracted Windows XP Professional ISO file which I downloaded from school's MSDNAA's web site.
But I can't seem to locate one. Is there a way to obtain Windows XP equivalent (not 3rd party applications) of Hyper Terminal to use it for Windows 7 Ultimate x64?
A few months ago I went on a rampage (stupidly) trying to get rid of TuneUp Utilities. I'm not sure but I believe it was during some registry cleaning-up that I must have screwed something up.Ever since my System Restore hasn't worked right, I've not bee able to have a successful system restore since.Wasn't an issue until now when I very much want to restore. (I uninstalled Steam and I'm hoping a restore will reverse that so I don't have to download my game library again.)I tried to restore to a point created yesterday and got teh same error I've been getting:Quote:"System Restore failed to extract the file(C:$Extend$RmMetadata$Txf) from the restore point. An unspecified error occurred during system restore.(0x80070005)" I've been trying to research the problem but have heard everything from "It's Norton!" (I do not run Norton nor have I ever) to "Unplug all your USB devices" to "Your accout doesn't have proper permissions."Does anyone know what this actually is and if it's fixable without formatting the system?
My friend installed Windows 7 Home Premium on her laptop. Her previous Operating System was Vista, which was factory installed. Every file she had on Vista was put into a folder titled Windows Old after Windows 7 was installed; we both knew this would happen so my friend backed up some files.
This laptop, an HP Pavillion dv6700, has WiFi capability. The problem is the software/ drivers for this are in the folder Windows Old and can't be opened and used. Is there a way to extract these files so they may be used again?
I would like to download the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to patch my system.
1) Is this the correct Service Pack 1 installation file for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit? Windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe
2) Do I need to download and install any of the other .Symbols files from the website?
3) I am installing a new PC with Windows 7 Professional RTM from the DVD. Can I install SP1 immediately after installing Windows 7, or do I need to do a Windows Update first?
my office has a terminal server and every time I launch it with dual monitors the terminal server windows do not lock at the maximum size. I can move the entire terminal server window up and down and side to side just by moving the mouse...it is irritating and not allowing me to use the computer efficiently.
If I use 1 monitor, the screen locks. The other guys in the office with Windows XP do not have this problem either.
In the past, when client workstations were running Windows XP Pro, we could use Terminal Services Manager and take remote control over the user logged into the workstations.
Now that client workstations are upgrading over time to Windows 7 Enterprise (both x64 and x86), I cannot get remote control to work. When I open Terminal Services Manager on a Server 2008 box or Remote Desktop Services Manager on a Server 2008 R2 box and right-click, choose 'connect to Computer' and enter the IP or name of a workstation to connect to, I get 'Access is Denied'.
Every service I can think of on the client is running - remote registry, rpc, remote desktop is allowed, i can remote desktop into the machine (mstsc), no permission issues, etc. The firewall is turned off, etc. but I never get anything other than 'Access is denied'. Neither machine is running multiple monitors, both are updated as much as they can be.
Is there anyone doing this with Windows 7 workstations? There doesnt seem to be a slick alternative to this built in functionality - vnc is not close, logmein rescue is just an added cost, etc.
I have a system with a lite version Windows 7 ultimate. From the lite version the remote desktop connection terminal client was remove. There is any way to install it now?
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Laptop: ASUS Notebook K60IJ Series
I work from home a lot by remoting in to my PC at work. Last week I was able to remote in just fine, but today could not using my laptop. I could remote in using my wife's laptop just fine, but could not using mine. I get the following error:Could not connect to terminal server can log into the network just fine. I have a random passkey that I enter etc. But, when I put in my workstation ID and try to connect, I get the above error.Again, I was able to log in just fine using my wife's laptop today, but not mine I have not made any changes recently (that I know of)
Update:this seems to be an Internet Explorer issue. I downloaded and tried to remote in using Firefox and it worked just fine. Any ideas why IE is now giving me issues? Is there a setting that changed? I was gonna try to uninstall and reinstall IE, but it does not come up in my list of programs to uninstall...
Am buying a new computer with Windows 7 professional installed. Have MS Office Professional 07 on old computer which died. Will MS give me another product key so I can install MS Office Professional 07 on new computer? Will I need install additional drivers?
Logon to this computer you must be granted the allow logon through terminal services. I have setup a AD in my virtual box and install ts. i also have create a client pc in my virtual box. Whenever from my client pc I connect to the ts web access to get the apps from the server. I key in my id and password it will prompt me this message. But I have already assign the rights. I have already enable this option allow logon through terminal service, allow logon through terminal locally. I have added remote desktop user to permission to it. But it seems like it not working. How I can do it? Or is it the ts license without activating I cannot access?
Thinking of going with a push-pull set up for CM 212 Evo using the stock fan on one side. What's a good (preferably quiet) fan for the opposite side (pull)
Needs to be 120mm btw, the CM 212 Evo comes with mounting brackets to attach the fans either side.
Because Hyper-V has gained a lot of publicity lately and because I truly love the server virtualization products...i picked up a book on Hyper-V and have been reading through it and testing Hyper-V on a box under my desk.
Very first thing that caused massive grief: Trying to remotely administer Hyper V from a workstation on a Windows domain while the Hyper V server is on a workgroup is a real challenge. It took nearly an entire day to get this working and that was after using the HVRemote shortcut tool on the MSDN blogs. Now that I know how to do this, it only takes a few minutes but it sure is complicated for somebody doing it for the first time.
Next, my company does quite a lot with Linux virtual machines. From what I have seen, the only supported HyperV Linux guest OS's are SuSE and RHEL (only using emulated drivers). Of course, the emulated drivers don't provide the performance of their synthetic counterparts.
In addition, it seems that Linux guests are relegated to no smp support. So, it's 1 CPU only for any linux guest no integration services are supported, such as remote system shutdown and Time Synchronization or Heartbeat So, in closing, it's really hard to take this Hyper-V product seriously in the enterprise market with such limited support for any OS that isn't Windows. Looks like we will be sticking with VMWare ESX and ESXi for the forseeable future.
This posts here in the vmware blogs pretty much corroborates my feelings:
VMware: VMware: Virtual Reality: Who’s going to Run Linux Workloads on Microsoft Hyper-V Now?
I downloaded a torrent to my laptop, and I want to extract the files within it to put into a different folder. But the extract option isn't on the right-click menu.
When I try deploy the apps from server. I logon to client pc I have given all the rights but the apps doesn't appear on client pc desktop and all programs. Instead I have to go to network>serverpc>the share folder and double click in order for it to appear.
I'm attempting to disabled Hyperthreading, but that option isn't in the BIOS. Two guides on disabling the "logical" cores require me to boot up "START" command, but what is that and how do I access it?Disable Hyperthreading in the Windows 7 registry - Super User
[URL]
Also, I want to set Team Fortress 2 to not use the HT cores, but the .exe file is non-existent and its files are apparently booted by Steam. I wanted to test if Team Fortress 2 and SimCity 4 (resource hogging singe-core) would improve with HT disabled. I also have an i7 720qm 1.6 GHz, which is the slowest i7 quad-core CPU.I tried to disable four "logical" cores through msconfig, but it also turned off two physical cores as well. I'd rather prefer quad core than dual core with HT.
I have a severe virtual problem. Going on in my home and I would like to turn the hyperthreading off in my laptop one is Hp and the other dell. I also have a hp desktop pc with amd... The other 2 have intel...all came with window 7 ....but for the life of me I can't access my hard drive. When I save somehing it saves. It in the ram...how screwed up and my browsers are horrible. The only way I have been able to halfway install a router is thru my screwed up browsers. None of my window 7 pcs seem to know how to configure a router.. I have a new hard drive for Hp desktop. I really hate to install it then I am stuck only accessing the virtual part. I recently installed a new hard drive in my laptop then it went all to hell after I installed seatools. Now I find out the hard drive I bought doesn't need utilities that it automatically installs it self. Too late now . I can't boot or install Windows. Not even linux will install.
I can't afford too lose another $100 on another hard drive. So it is possible to turn off the hyperthreading in the bios ...I just need to know how. I don't play games or watch tv on my pc so I really just need it to be able to email, internet, and music, a printer would be so nice. Its been so long since I have been able to use one. I hook up a printer but everytime samething always happens my pc. States the printer isn't mine and I can't use it. I will settle for the email, music and surfing the net.
"extract all" is a standard context menu command in windows XP, Vista and 7. But this command seems to be overriden when one uses PowerDesk, replaced by the PowerDesk Zip/Unzip utility. I would like to have the option of the original windows command back in the context menu, but don't see any way to restore it.
[code] I was leaning towards the i7 because it seems to be the fastest processor for around $300.But apparently these new intel chips have sandy bridge which is a form of hyper threading.I'm just trying to figure out if I truly need the processor with hyper threading. I understand it basically turns the 4 cores into 8 virtual cores, but does it apply this speed to all computer programs and functions?I run 3 monitors and constantly doing multiple things including web design, graphic design etc.I also plan on maxing my ram at the 32gb the MOBO will allow to help this system run as fast as possible.
I have been doing autocadd and here lately my computer has been shuting off and rebooting then having a hyper transport sync flood error occurred on last boot come up i know nothing about computers so i have no idea what that means any advise were to start
I am a software vendor and ship files to customers that are usually zipped. When customers extract the files on their Windows 7 machine, its blocked. I have the flexibility to run a command after the extract; is there a batch command to bulk unblock the files? I tried takeown and icalcs /grant but the unblock still shows up
i only have this happen while in on secondlife that my pc . just kicks me down to a reboot up and then this comes up , hyper transportsync flood error and blaa blaa press f1 to continue , how or what do i do?
During an upgrade from XP to Windows 7 Ultimate I used Easy Transfer.Towrads the end of the transfer back to the computer from an external disk, the transfer crashed. I was able to complete the upgrade but a few files are missing.I am unable to transfer again the files. Is there a way to look into the MIG files, locate certain files and extract them?
I have for years used Adobe Audition 1.5 and 3.0 to extract files from CD for my syndicated radio shows. In February I bought a Lenovo lap top loaded with windows 7, and cannot do this task with 1.5 or 3.0
My font collection is in need of a radical overhaul. I use High Logics Main Type as my font manager. But that's by the by, this isn't about fonts solely. I've come across the situation where I need to collect all the files together from multiple sub folders before. I want to know the easiest way of extracting all the data from, say, 500+ sub folders, and dumping it all in the parent/a.n.other folder. At the moment, with fonts, it's a piece of pish, I search for ttf files in the main folder with locate32, highlight them all, cut 'n' paste into the new folder. I then use RED 2.1 to delete the empty folders, go back into the parent folder to see what folders are left, open one, get the file extension, use locate32 to search for file extensions in parent folder, and so on and so forth. Easier to do than type, but still a bit long winded. Does anyone know of an easier way or a 3rd party portable app.?
