View 1 RepliesI've been using 7137 for a long time, and I haven't had any problems with it until yesterday. I'll be doing normal stuff, like using Chrome, etc. When I try and click an icon on my taskbar, nothing happens. I get the blue spinning wheel.
To add, I can't even use keyboard shortcuts to open up Run, Task Manager, and more.
I have a brand new laptop. Toshiba I5 with Windows 7. Since I have it, I have problems with Internet Explorer. It crashes constantly. Everytime, I'm navigating in it, suddenly a popup appears saying that Internet Explorer incountered a problem and Windows will try to resolve the problem. But then when it stop searching, it says that they couldn't resolve the problem and when they can will let me know.Yesterday I was feathup and downloaded Modzila Firefox. I'm sick and tired of this problem and would like to resolve it.I tried going on the microsoft website et download again Internet Explorer but it says I have the lastest version.
View 2 Replies View Relatedalmost every time I open windows explorer, it crashes...
I read a post earlier that recommended opening command prompt and typing in: sfc /sannow
Did that and the results are: "Verification 94% complete. Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"
The issue is that all system functions, opening start menu, running control panel, opening folders or running internet explorer run extremely slowly, taking around 5-10 minutes to load or failing completely. Explorer.exe constantly fails and tries to restart. Safe mode seems to work like normal, no speed issues, he has since said it has run slow in safemode (he's not exactly happy right now, and so is snapping at me when i ask him about it so this could be a lie). The CPU is running at 1-2% constantly, i checked performance monitor idle time for it and it is consistantly showing high idle time so it's not like its thrashing. I have limited knowledge of his pc specs, i know he's running a 2.8ghz quad with 8gb ram (speed unknown but i doubt it'll have a relevance). I ran a sfc /scannow but came up with no errors, he doesn't have a restore point set (helpfull much?) and we cannot really access his antivirus effectively due to the whole speed of the system (2 hours before i managed to successfully open event viewer for example) Event viewer shows a number of issues which i will be able to provide more detail about tomorrow morning when he has calmed down a bit. We've tried to run the windows 7 disk however theres not a fix option, i'll be doing manufacturer default restore at some point probably if no solution is found (failing that a format and reinstall maybe?) however im hoping someone online can shed some light on the whole situation, something i've missed maybe. The biggest issue is it being so difficult to try to fix with it taking such a long time to open anything. This is a new custom built pc (from a website) and im assuming the components themselves are ok, (cpu or hdd broken and it wouldn't start, same with ram but im assuming a warning would of shown, and unless he's lost 7gb in one go i doubt it would show much performance decrease...) the system seems cool enough from general feeling around it, cold air being sucked in and blown out (obviously while idle but even so).

Examples are when I browse around, click save as (which crashes also the program, a big issue for me) or even when I installed the windows SDK just now it crashed 5 times during the installation.I searched around a little, but so far no luck. - Selected "Always show icons, never thumbnails" in "Folder options / View".- Scanned my computer with Malwarebytes. Same problem after the scan/cleanup.- Tried do a System Restore on 6 different restore points and none of them could complete the Restore successfully.- Tried to do a System Restore on the same restore points in safe mode and it still couldn't do it.- Ran SFC/ scan, still does the same thing afterwards.- Updated my video card driver.- Tried different image codec packs.- Uninstalled all image codec packs.- Some selective startup or clean boot stuff through "msconfig" that didn't help.- Plus a few other things that I can't even remember (it was a late night!) to use Photoshop and work with these images for my line of work so I'm kind of at a standstill until I get this resolved.
I'm sending this from safe mode! I have been getting assisted with this since before the Holidays. I was sent to the Windows 7 forum to get some insight on why my CPU usage was clocking 100% no matter what I did. I ran several scans and combofixes and nothing seemed to work. I ran Malewarebytes and removed the items and explorer.exe will not run.

I've been having a few issues recently with some programs with reside within the system32 folder, as said in the title paint, notepad and calculator. Explorer is having a different issue so I'll discuss it later. The 3 programs listed are constantly crashing. Notepad and calculator are having significantly bigger issues than paint right now, however they all have the same issue. Whenever I open one of these programs, it'll either be a few letter (numbers for calculator) and it'll crash, with the generic error message "xxxx has stopped working, Windows is searching for a solution". This problem happens consistently. Explorer on the other hand, is behaving oddly. Every couple days (sometimes multiple times in a day) my toolbar will not pop itself back up (I have it set to autohide). While the trace of the hidden toolbar is visible, no moving of the mouse (even when on the desktop to avoid 'always on top' programs taking priority) on the toolbar will bring it back up. This usually results in just killing explorer.exe and re-running it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having huge problems with my pc. I very rarely use is as my wife and kids tend to always be on it but, when I've come to try and use it, it freezes all the time for about 5 minutes, then works for a few more minutes before freezing again with the message (not responding) at the top. My wife tells me it's been like this for months and months. I've tried everything on the Norton 360 package that I have but nothing at all seems to speed it up. I've spoken to the tech guys who supply my broadband and after running several tests they insist it's not a broadband problem. I don't know what to do next to try to get rid of this problem.

When i first built it i was getting mouse lag of a split second and started getting the blue screen of death, so i then took my pc back to the shop in which i got the parts and they fixed it by replacing my ram i think. But even though they looked at it and re-installed windows im still getting mouse lag. It's not a HUGE problem when doing simple tasks like browsing the web ect.. but when im trying to play games like counter strike its just frustrating to play and trying to be accurate is a task in a half.Just to be clear, what i mean by mouse lag is a tiny delay from me moving the mouse and it displaying which is a fraction of a second but it's very noticeable.Ive tried using various mouses and tweaking the mouse settings in the controll panel and downloading the drivers that i know of but no matter what i do, there is always a slight lag of the mouse. I'm unsure if it's a hardware problem or software but i cant seem to figure it out and i want to try and find the source of the problem before resorting to going back to the shop because it will cost me to get their service and its a really long drive away.
My desktop computer fan runs incessantly. Even when it is in a cool environment, it runs almost constantly. Even when it is not supposed to be doing anything, it will be running. This drives me nuts; what can I do about it?
Also, as an aside, I have noticed that, when I access the Internet or something else on my *other* computer, a laptop, or even iPhone, on the same router network, the fan starts running on the desktop computer.
My fan keeps whizzing on and off constantly when I do the most mild of tasks like browsing the web. Its been pretty constant since I installed my SSD. To be honest in a quiet room its pretty annoying. Do I require an update to the Asus bios on my Zenbook

Then I upgraded the power supply to a raidmax rx730ss because the video card needed the 6 pin power supply that the old psu didn't have. After I installed the new PSU the computer would start running the post (dell logo screen) finish the load bar, go to a black screen then reboot and start running post again. the computer does this indefinitely as far as I can tell.I installed the old power supply and it did the exact same thing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium with 4 gigs of Ram.The problem they are having is that as soon as they stop working with any program, game, etc. the computer will go back to the log in menu and wait until their password has been entered. Once it does, it will go back to where it was. I was running Windows Update and it did it then. It is so weird to see it part way through an update download and have it go back to the sign in.I've tried the following:
1.I reset all setting to Never so that the computer should never go to sleep.
2.I deleted the password on the computer. Now my friend doesn't need to log in but the computer still waits for her to click on the administrative icon before it goes back to Windows.
I don't understand this problem. I've looked all over the net and even supposed to have solved the problems by several of the posts but it just doesn't work. I can't understand that if the computer is "NEVER" supposed to go to sleep why it is!
I have an E-machines EL1358-53 desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OS.
The system seems to freeze up (no blue screen, just not responding), mostly when Windows boots up, or working on files through the network. I have tried to restore to previous date, and also wiped out hard drive and re installed windows. I do not really know what to do at this point, nor do i want to spend the money out of my budget to buy a new desktop.
So I don't know what happened but while I was working a few days ago, windows just started getting really really slow. Everything started breaking, vidoe, audio. It couldn't open a single program. I could however run a virus scan (that took hours), and no relevant threat was found. So I tried running Ubuntu to get my stuff out of there as I usually do and not even that worked. It still was really slow.So I re.installed it anyways losing whatever I had there, which was not much. Anyways, now, although it's not nearly as bad, it will break often times when I run for an example, firefox and windows media player. Which is nothing demanding at all. I ran a virus scan again, and no threat is found.

I have a laptop w/Windows 7, we also have 2 other laptops using 7 and one using XP. We are constantly getting disconnected from our wireless internet. Sometimes it will show that it's connected but then show "no internet access". We also have a Wii, PS3, 2 iTouches and 2 iPhones. Could we be overloading our wireless router? It probably happens at least 2 times a day. We are always having to unplug router and modem and starting over. I've reset the router several times but still have same issue.
