Let it set for a couple minutes and it may or may not complete the shutdown process. Sometimes I have to click the Forced button.Does not do this if restart is clicked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have just been sent a free computer for our office. A Windows 7 HP 32bit.We can login locally i think to a local user KB_SUF/User (where KB_SUF is the name of the computer)however whenever the UAC comes up when installing anything, we cannot proceed because it keeps saying "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" The thing is they sent us the computer without removing it from the domain Now I cant install the programs i need to work and it doesnt seem like theres a local admin on this computer. I tried removing this computer from the domain but it requires going through UAC.Is there any way to make this computer a Local only PC?The company that sent us the computer is in another country and they say they can send someone over in 6 months which is longer than i can wait.

Is there anyway to make it so there's just a place to type a password and no icon above it? Been poking around for awhile and I can't seem to find any info on it.

However the students accounts still retain the old printer and does not appear like it has looked at the script. When trying to manualy add the printer it detects it and installs the drivers, however an error, "The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials. Do you really want to overwrite the existing set of credentials?"Clicking yes, "The existing set of credentials cannot be deleted. Operation could not be completed error (0x000008ca)"

View 3 Replies View RelatedOK A few days ago my computer kept freezing and I rebooted it 7 times to finally get it working. I removed about 40Gb of crap (mainly files) that were still present on my machine. Last night it happened again and I did the same. Only this time when I log in to my account I can't do anything. There's no desktop. Just a curser. Nothing else.
The first time I just used CTRL+ALT+DEL and closed dwm.exe which I guess restarted itself because I could use the desktop freely again. The same incident happened again this morning however I cannot access the security screen via CTRL+ALT+DEL.
I am able to run everything in safe mode so it's not a core issue (I hope). I was able to activate the Hidden Admin however the same problem persists across both accounts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a little experience with Win 7, a lot with Win XP.
So here's my situation. I'm trying to create a login script for use on my work's PCs. Most all of our boxes are running XP. Putting this login script into the Starup folder works fine, the script runs on startup and creates its log.
My PC has recently been upgraded with Win 7 Pro 32 bit. When I manually execute the script, all works. But when I leave it in the Startup folder and reboot, it doesn't run. Msconfig has added an entry in the Startup tab for my script and it is enabled.
what I might be doing wrong? UAC is turned off, by the way, and my account is an Admin account (both locally and Domain).
My windows 7 logon sound will just not change.

Is there anyway to schedule an automatic logon for a certain time of day in Windows 7? I would like to schedule my computer to start up, login, run backup, and shutdown in the middle of the night once a month. So far, I know how to schedule a power-on using the BIOS, but I don't think backup will run if you're not logged in. I don't want to bypass the password protection all together....just when I want an automatic backup.
