I have the audio file witch is mp3 and i have converted it to wav file.I changed it in the sounds menu or whatever the right name is and when i test it then it plays. But when I actually log in then the sound wont play. Is it possible that the sound is too long?
I have been looking for a way to change the logon screen to more of a classic windows look, without success. Then the other day I saw this image on a blog: [URL]. That is basically what I would like to have. DSurely that is a modified logon screen? It does say "Copyright 2008 Microsoft...", so maybe this is from one of the earlier builds of 7?
My father's girlfriend is giving this Toshiba laptop to my father, and I'm charged with setting this up.Starting off, the only (non-Guest) account has been:
[HerName] Administrator
I created:
[HisName] Adminsitrator
So when you boot up Windows 7, it lands here:
[HerName] [HisName] Administrator Adminstrator
1) To put [HisName] first, on the left?or better yet, 2) Remove [HerName] from the logon screen, keeping the account so it can be switched to?
RONIZ by ~007TINAR on deviantART Their is a totally cool background. But is it customizable? How can i change the text to make it say Windows Windows 7, instead of that windows xp stuff. And how can i remove that "water-mark"-like thing in the top left corner.
I'm trying to change the background for the log-on screen for Windows 7 Home Premium. I tried the method explained here [URL](and on other websites), but when I navigated to the backgrounds folder, I wasn't able to add a new picture or delete the current one.I downloaded the Tweaks.com Logon Changer [URL], but it only gives me the choice between pictures in C: / Windows / Web / Wallpaper. And I can't add any pictures there either (nothing happens after I give administrator permission).
how to change the background of the logon screen however, I'd like to change the little blue ring animation. I'm familiar with resource hacker and restorator but haven't been able to find where this animation is stored to make the desired change.
I used a very simple program in August when the RTM first came out to change the logon screen without having to deal with the registry. Now I can't find it; it was something that didn't require installation, because it doesn't appear in the start menu. Just needed to point to the jpg I wanted and it changed it for me. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Eh, I just found it online again: Windows 7 Logon Background Changer - Customize your Windows 7 welcome screen wallpaper.
All this was done on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I've been trying to get the "Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE or use the Windows Security button to <log on/unlock this computer.>" text changed. I made a copy of the authui.dll.mui files from both System32/en-US/ and SysWOW64/en-US/ to another location. I opened them up in Resource Hacker , went to String Table/753/1033 and changed the text for items 12035 and 12036 , hit Compile Script , and then save. I then made backups of the originals, took file ownership so that I could delete them, and, finally, replaced them. To verify that this operation was successful, I opened the files, now in their respective en-US folders, back up in Resource Hacker . Each text field displays precisely what I set it to. However, when I lock the computer or log off, the text has not been changed at all. Even after a reboot, the text has not been changed. Afterwards, I went back into the en-US folders to make sure they didn't revert and found my changes in place.
I don't know why this is happening but all of a sudden my windows 7 keeps playing the logon and logoff sounds back to back and constantly. I've rebooted my computer to no avail. I tried running a bunch of "Microsoft Fixit" tools and nothing works. Some recent changes to my system include the following:I recently cleared the CMOS RTC RAM data in order to reset the BIOS password.(Don't know if that could cause the type of problem I'm having now, but if it is, there's no indication of it in Action center and as I mentioned, trouble-shooting tools don't show any problems.)
I have a problem with Windows Media player. When i open srs Wow and changing values sound is still same. After i was try DFX program and this program too doing anything.
I changed my Windows start sound a while back. After updates some time ago, it changed back to the original.I decided to change it back the way I wanted it and opened up the imageres.dll file in the Windows System32 folder using Resource Hacker.I found that the Imageres file still pointed to my sound file and when I hit play it, it played my sound. But my computer plays the default sound when it boots.I ran a search and found another Imageres file at this location...C:Windowswinsxsx86_microsoftwindowsimageres_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_dc93f95659399ba8imageres.dllThis file plays the original Windows sound but will not let me change it even with Resource Hacker.I go through the process on a copy of the file pasted on my desktop, but while I don't get any error messages, it still plays the original sound after completing the process.
college are messing around with computers and are trying to get his personal one pretty much all on a starcraft theme. We have been getting pretty far, his OS is Windows 7 Build 7600. We want to get it so that if a wrong password is entered, it says "Access Code Denied" in the old starcraft synthesized-like female voice. We have the audio clips, but we need to figure out how to incorporate that sound. It's obviously not in Control Panel -> Sound -> Sounds, as I found out did some intensive googling, and I came to the conclusion that it involves a bit of registry adding and visual basicOn an event like "windows logon" there is a linked .dll filemmres.dll -5853Really it says this, verbatim:[CODE]
i have windows 7 64bit ultimate , and i am having a few problems with it .
basically when i log on , its just a white screen , so i cant see why i am typing. also , i have no sound at all , i have tried all different realtek drivers , and its not working .
I have a standard 3.5mm output jack on the back of my motherboard, whenever I change the jack, e.g. take speakers out, plug headphones in, the sound stops, usually when i'm using itunes, or bbc iplayer. Sometimes this can crash microsoft messenger as well.I have to restart the application for the sound to work again.
my sound gets knocked out by registry mechanic or just changing my head phones ..has happened several times ..find a fix and then it goes for months and its gone again..? the driver says no files there so they were there yesterday?.
I accidently screwed up the administrator account and once, i tried to install a software and it came "You need a administrator password to proceed"so i typed it then it came the error"this user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer i tried a lot but its still not working and i cant install anythin.
Every time I try to get administrative access, I type in the password and it says, "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request." I'm able to sign in as the administrator, it's just when I need to gain administrative access that this error pops-up.
This all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.
Before After
My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.
We have just been sent a free computer for our office. A Windows 7 HP 32bit.We can login locally i think to a local user KB_SUF/User (where KB_SUF is the name of the computer)however whenever the UAC comes up when installing anything, we cannot proceed because it keeps saying "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" The thing is they sent us the computer without removing it from the domain Now I cant install the programs i need to work and it doesnt seem like theres a local admin on this computer. I tried removing this computer from the domain but it requires going through UAC.Is there any way to make this computer a Local only PC?The company that sent us the computer is in another country and they say they can send someone over in 6 months which is longer than i can wait.
I have just disabled my administrator account where that account only can login by my fingerprint and its not allowed by login using my password. but after i reset its password using Hiren Boot CD to enable that account back, it doesnt recognized my fingerprint anymore and when I enter my password ( new password and BLANK password) it say "You are not allowed to login using password". So how i can get my account back without format this pc.
So I was looking around the internet trying to customize my logon screen for win7. I was able to change the background but I've no clue how to get rid of the icon. Is there anyway to make it so there's just a place to type a password and no icon above it? Been poking around for awhile and I can't seem to find any info on it.
We have a logon script for the students that add the printers, share drives & proxy. We have replaced and moved a printer at our school, they have been setup, shared correctly and work with the admin/teachers accounts. However the students accounts still retain the old printer and does not appear like it has looked at the script. When trying to manualy add the printer it detects it and installs the drivers, however an error, "The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials. Do you really want to overwrite the existing set of credentials?"Clicking yes, "The existing set of credentials cannot be deleted. Operation could not be completed error (0x000008ca)"
I've been trying to logon to a Windows 7 admin account, which isn't logged in (I have another account that we usually use instead) When we tried to logon, a message saying "there are currently no logon servers available to process your logon request"
My wife and I recently separated but before I left she had a hacker friend of hers get into my laptop while I was at work and changed EVERTHING into her name. I have the majority of it changed back, but can't figure out how to change the Windows Logon Name.
OK A few days ago my computer kept freezing and I rebooted it 7 times to finally get it working. I removed about 40Gb of crap (mainly files) that were still present on my machine. Last night it happened again and I did the same. Only this time when I log in to my account I can't do anything. There's no desktop. Just a curser. Nothing else.
The first time I just used CTRL+ALT+DEL and closed dwm.exe which I guess restarted itself because I could use the desktop freely again. The same incident happened again this morning however I cannot access the security screen via CTRL+ALT+DEL.
I am able to run everything in safe mode so it's not a core issue (I hope). I was able to activate the Hidden Admin however the same problem persists across both accounts.
