View 9 RepliesHowever, since starting to use windows 7 x64 build 7127 ( his first windows 7 xperience ) after every boot, he has to unplug the USB connector, Restart and Plug it in once windows is running, or else it wont boot!
It seams to be a driver problem, but the vista drivers dont seem to work correctly
Dose anyone on here have any experience with these?
In my neglect, I accidentally put my Dell laptop on the rug in my basement. Mybasement flooded a day later. Everything works fine except for my CD drive. When I put a CD or DVD in the drive, it makes a whirring sound, then it stops. I look in My Computer and it says that there is no CD in the drive.System Specs:Dell Vostro 3550 with Windows 7 Home Premium x642.10 GHz Intel Core i3-2310m8.00GB RAMDVD Drive: PLDS DVD+ RW DS 8A5SH

View 3 Replies View RelatedMany options are available for laptop cooling, and as i have an HP, i don't know why, they tend to be "hot" laptops, all 5 of my HP laptops have been very warm. Recently, i've found a GREAT solution to this problem!! My Specs are all filled out, and you may ask me any questions here if needed First, look at this picture i took a couple of minutes ago :P
I have a 100% CPU Load, using very few ram, and my laptop fan i NOT on, and I'm at 41-43 Degrees Celsius... thats great, where usually my fan would be going nuts. As i am much tooooo lazy to write a tutorial to do this, please check out this link, its on a "under-volting" guide i followed closely, and now my laptop is great. Please remember to STRESS TEST!!!! or you will BSOD a lot... :-) Good luck to all those with laptops!

Quote: Its been rumored that Intel would offer a liquid-cooling solution instead of a stock cooler with its new Sandy Bridge-E extreme processors, and multiple enthusiast sites have indeed snapped photos of the new cooler on the IDF exhibition floor.
From the photos, we can determine that the RTS2011LC cooler has been created in conjunction with Asetek, which had previously announced it was working on a Sandy Bridge-E liquid-cooling solution. According to Legit Reviews, Intel reps said its similar to the Corsair Hydro H70 kit that Asetek designed, but that parts were updated, including a 120mm fan. The fan even includes blue LED lights. While designed with the LGA2011 socket, it will also work with Intels 1155, 1156, and 1366 sockets. Source
Quote: The X79 Express chipset is the successor to the X58 and will be paired to Intels upcoming LGA2011 socket for next-gen processors. The motherboard seen here is the Intel DX79SI, obviously based on the chipset. As its name suggest, the RTS2011LC liquid-cooling solution is also designed for said socket.
Trying to get a healthy moderate overclock on a system for a client before I push it out to them in a couple hours, partially to make em happy with an added "plus it's faster than stock!" surprise, and partially for fun. This CPU's been around for about a million years for overclockers now though?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought the SCNJ-CU1000 Fully Copper CPU Cooler back in 2008, originally it was designed for 775 and 478 sockets. Not having that in my box (now) I saw the Universal Retention Kit 3 having seen that the Universal Retention Kit 3 was not compatible with my 1155 socket after all I have been advised that it will work with the mounting bracket I have been looking for here: LGA1156 & 1366 Mounting Clips Note: on the German site it says it works with 1155 sockets as well as 1156 and seen as they both share the same size CPU I don't see any problem with this, do you?

View 0 Replies View RelatedHow I got in the current state is a looong story! But I have a new 2TB drive (~2 weeks old) that appears to have 3 partitions on it:
a) "New Volume", 80GB NTFS, Primary, healthy
b) "Local Volume", 0 bytes Not Formatted, Primary Healthy
c) 1.741TB Unallocated
My problem is I didn't create and don't want the "Local Volume" partition. But just about everything I try in Acronis Disk Director either crashes it or says "internal error".I've given up on the data. Is there anything I can do to get this drive back to its original usable state?I'm running Win7 x64 (and I suspect its repair utility caused the corruption).

Just had to reinstall win7 starter on my netbook after Comodo made mess there. I ran the Acer eRecovery and replaced the entire operating system, but Acer added all the "free" crap including Macafee.Mostly I got rid of all the fluff, but MCAgent.exe still persists and I can't get rid of it or the folders it is in.I installed "Take Ownership," but still can't remove the remnants. The Macafee icon shows up in the Notifications Customize list too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 2 year old laptop is starting to get sluggish so I'm wondering if I should try to do a clean install of my Home Premium Windows. Problem is, the computer came with no disks. Also, I'm assuming that the Backup and Restore function that's built in would only give me a copy of my crap-filled hard drive contents if I "made" the backup (to an external disk, presumably) then "restored" it to my freshly formatted internal drive. right? So, can I make my OWN clean disks with some utility on the machine? Or do I have to BUY another copy of Windows 7 Home Premium? Or will Best Buy provide me with one if I take my machine in? Or will Lenovo provide one?

I am currently running build 7600 of Windows 7, I did a clean install without formatting the drive over windows vista premium 64bit and then removed the windows.old folder via the directions found on this board. My question is, that when I download my copy of Windows 7 off of digitalriver (I'm a college student) what is it I need to do in order to have a clean install? I've heard numerous reports that say I wouldn't have to install anything because build 7600 is the final version, and all I would need to do is enter the product key given on my upgrade version.
