SCNJ-CU1000 Scythe Full Copper CPU Cooler On 1155 Socket Intel I7-2600?
Mar 20, 2012
I bought the SCNJ-CU1000 Fully Copper CPU Cooler back in 2008, originally it was designed for 775 and 478 sockets. Not having that in my box (now) I saw the Universal Retention Kit 3 having seen that the Universal Retention Kit 3 was not compatible with my 1155 socket after all I have been advised that it will work with the mounting bracket I have been looking for here: LGA1156 & 1366 Mounting Clips Note: on the German site it says it works with 1155 sockets as well as 1156 and seen as they both share the same size CPU I don't see any problem with this, do you?

Intel shows off liquid cooler, DX79SI motherboard for Sandy Bridge-E processors
Quote: Its been rumored that Intel would offer a liquid-cooling solution instead of a stock cooler with its new Sandy Bridge-E extreme processors, and multiple enthusiast sites have indeed snapped photos of the new cooler on the IDF exhibition floor.
From the photos, we can determine that the RTS2011LC cooler has been created in conjunction with Asetek, which had previously announced it was working on a Sandy Bridge-E liquid-cooling solution. According to Legit Reviews, Intel reps said its similar to the Corsair Hydro H70 kit that Asetek designed, but that parts were updated, including a 120mm fan. The fan even includes blue LED lights. While designed with the LGA2011 socket, it will also work with Intels 1155, 1156, and 1366 sockets. Source
Quote: The X79 Express chipset is the successor to the X58 and will be paired to Intels upcoming LGA2011 socket for next-gen processors. The motherboard seen here is the Intel DX79SI, obviously based on the chipset. As its name suggest, the RTS2011LC liquid-cooling solution is also designed for said socket.

Failure to connect to VPN per the error below from the log... "Set socket to non-blocking mode failed: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.(errno=10038)"Support at VPN vendor suggests that a Windows repair is needed but have no disk as bought the HDD from a repair facility that lost their lease and cannot be located. Should add that I have had a couple of blue screens lately and have run chkdsk /f and tried to do a system restore but all restore points are gone, even though I had several previously.

is it best to uninstall old drivers first then install new hardware then new drivers or would i have to use windows disk to do a repair install after taking off old drivers and new hardware i know there is a "sysprep" tool that should remove hardware dependencies and things but i have no idea what it does/how to use it or if it will leave programs and settings in place without modifying them as im going from a foxconn 45cmx, core e7600 and 3gb ddr3 to an asus 1155 motherboard,i5 2500 and 8gb ddr3?

i've been using windows 7 since the rtm was released, since the new fall tv line up started i began to view full episodes on network's website as always. i realized that either the ati driver or windows 7 have a problem with flash videos (or flash?).
i never experienced something wrong before with windows xp, the playback was smooth (considering all 24p movies with 75hz refresh) but now abc.com in 720p is annoying jerky, cbs 1080p is literally unwatchable, Internet's 720p files are really jerky. i also tried bbc player (with a proxy), same results.
i'm sure it's a software problem (maybe they added a new useless feature in windows 7 drivers that does that) since this only happens when i'm in fullscreen and the cpu usage is always below 30% with hd streaming. again, this only happens in flash, no problem with videos played with local players, even 1080p blu-rays are flawless with both software and hardware decoding.
i tried to reinstall windows xp to see if maybe i was mistaken but the problem doesn''t present there, everything's fine. plus i tried another pc with windows 7 with a "crappy" nvdia integrated video card, no jerkiness, even with cbs 1080p streaming.
i have an ati hd 2600 pro, i tried to reinstall 9.7 and 9.8 drivers with no change, does anybody have the same problems and maybe a solution?

What is a BIOS? How do I access it? What is it useful for? Can I modify it? Should I modify it? Benefits from modification? anti-benefits? how to cool down hp dv6 PC; I understand that one could downgrade the BIOS; I understand that an F16 downgrade for hp dv6 would be good at keeping system cooler. Is this really the case?

Have a new Shuttle SG41H4 with mini-ITX board.I got everything free except no CPU/cooler (Even OS -in box). However, the Q 9400 Processor I purchased has no cooler. Shuttle says maximum size is 75mm X 75mm x80mm.I saw a few threads on micro ITX coolers here and wondered if anyone had any advice or recommendations. All of micro ITX coolers I have seen on-line are much larger or have no specs.Technologically impaired 60 y/o (second build, but most of it was free & so I grabbed it not realizing how hard it would be to get older parts.)

Many options are available for laptop cooling, and as i have an HP, i don't know why, they tend to be "hot" laptops, all 5 of my HP laptops have been very warm. Recently, i've found a GREAT solution to this problem!! My Specs are all filled out, and you may ask me any questions here if needed First, look at this picture i took a couple of minutes ago :P
I have a 100% CPU Load, using very few ram, and my laptop fan i NOT on, and I'm at 41-43 Degrees Celsius... thats great, where usually my fan would be going nuts. As i am much tooooo lazy to write a tutorial to do this, please check out this link, its on a "under-volting" guide i followed closely, and now my laptop is great. Please remember to STRESS TEST!!!! or you will BSOD a lot... :-) Good luck to all those with laptops!
Applies to all types of Graphics Cards, and Intel/AMD CPU's, HDD and SSD's .

Trying to get a healthy moderate overclock on a system for a client before I push it out to them in a couple hours, partially to make em happy with an added "plus it's faster than stock!" surprise, and partially for fun. This CPU's been around for about a million years for overclockers now though?

Does any one know what good upgrades I could get for Socket 462? I am clueless and what not, as this machine is VERY slow and I can't get many tasks done on it, since it's CPU is way to slow. Any processors built for performance and reliable? Any suggestions?
P.S. My current CPU usage when I finished boot up and IE is running.

In theory powered USB sockets (maybe USB2 and later) can control the power if the hardware supports it.
I don't know if my H/W supports this function, but that's a mute point as I've never found any S/W that implements such control. Has Windows7 made any advance over XP in this arena?
This issue comes up once a year, at about this time, as I have USB powered desk Christmas Tree. OK, it has a switch on the bottom, but I'd really like to be able to control it with an application if possible. The tree sits on my windowsill, and it's not easy to reach over my monitors. And yes, if this is the worst of my problems, I'm obviously doing OK.

I am having issues with a brand new system which has an Intel mainbord. I am trying to connect the system to a Denon AVR1912 unit. Windows tells me that the Denon amp is attached to the HDMI socket (the Denon AVR1912 name is displayed on the icon) but then contradicts itself by saying that it is unplugged. I did discover at one stage that the HDMI icon in the "Sounds" section of Control Panel disappeared. I then had to reload the driver and thought that might fix the problem at the same time, but no such luck. I have checked to make sure that the HDMI socket is enabled in BIOS and that was OK.
