Trying to get a healthy moderate overclock on a system for a client before I push it out to them in a couple hours, partially to make em happy with an added "plus it's faster than stock!" surprise, and partially for fun. This CPU's been around for about a million years for overclockers now though?

I am a professional audio designer and I use an external audio card for performance playback,however, recently, I have started to have problems with audio dropouts because of this service.I understand that it is a networking driver, but I have never had issues with it until recently. What is more confusing is that the problem persists when I disconnect from a network and it is not in use. I am puzzled by this and since I do a lot of work in a mobile environment with my laptop,it
Why would it start doing this "out of nowhere"? also, I performed a full factory default restore on the machine including service pack and all updates. ndis.sys STILL runs at an average of 3ms.
Using Windows 7, Error code appeared during trial version avg anti-virus uninstall and stated that operation was unsuccessful. Tried repeatedly but computer will not even start the uninstall process. While trying to download new 2011 free avg, the application exe file appears to save ok but will not show up on desktop or anyother location for me to access. Tried other software applications from cnet and got same results. Also restore operation did not work.

NOTE: I'm running windows 7 (32-BIT)!Due to my purchase of windows 7-32 bit, i can only use 3.25 of the 4 gigs of RAM. Is my lag caused by only having 3.25 gigs of ram? would that .75 extra really make the difference? All the drivers, according to driver genius professional edition, are up to date.All i can think of is that i don't have enough RAM?
since I got my new setup, temps have gone up like crazy and I cannot find the source of the problem. Using Prime95, my 955BE goes as high as 65-70 degrees celcius. This is at standard clock and voltage, which are 3200mHz and ~1.35v.The cooler I use is: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and thermal paste: Cooler Master something. Case fans are turned up to medium instead of low and the heatsink seems to be placed correctly.With my old motherboard (M4A77) and this exact same cooler, temps would stabilize at ~54 degrees at full load.

all the drives are functioning, intel software isnt reporting any drive issues, basic drivers are up to date.
So whats the difference between installing a stock driver over a modified manufacture one cause my video driver is alittle outdated and i check on the website that a new one was release so should i uninstall that one and install the new one or just leave it as it be?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a terrible time trying to get my ASUS K52 laptop to sleep and hibernate (win 7 home premium). I scoured the net looking at all kinds of things like using the commands,powercfg -a,powercfg -devicequery wake_armed,sfc -scannow,I tried to boot into safe mode and never did figure out how to actually do that. And so on and so on.I was really motivated because if I was running on battery, it would just completely drain the battery and crash hard.The display would dim and turn off as expected but it would never sleep and certainly would not hibernate.I finally figured out one problem was that my wife was logged in on my laptop. I did not think that would be a problem. Sometimes she uses my computer when I am away and then do a "Switch user" but NOT a logout.Apparently, this will stop your laptop from sleeping. Once I logged her out, then it I could sleep at the expected time. But it still would not hibernate or turn off hard disk. So I went through all the advanced settings, yet again, in my power config window, everything made sense and I followed all the recommendations for the various settings I saw online. Finally just pressed "restore defaults" and Whaddya know?! Hibernate worked at the expected time. I used the "Balanced" power plan.Now, FINALLY, my laptop works as expected and I really like the "Sleep" mode and it goes to hibernate overnight to save even more power. I don't why it was so flaky before. It seemed like I had a virus that was monkeying with my power settings but it's been working perfectly for over a two weeks now so I think it's licked.

I have a 100% CPU Load, using very few ram, and my laptop fan i NOT on, and I'm at 41-43 Degrees Celsius... thats great, where usually my fan would be going nuts. View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout 10 months ago I ordered an HP pavilion on amazon. Without really looking up the specs I would need daily. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I really enjoy playing S4 league and Forsaken World. Well within 4 months I noticed something was wrong with the cooling fan so I kept it for a while as is. Then I sent it to HP for the warranty thing the other day. Another reason I why I decided to send it back for repairs was. The fps went from 62.5 (max fps for that game) and started spiking down to 40ish on s4 league. For the last 10 months it would get hot and loud and such but never affected my fps for anything. So while it's getting fixed I decided to look up ways to improve it. And it seems overclocking is pretty effective. They say it's not safe to overclock a laptop because it'll heat up quicker. What I was wondering was when you over clock it, and let's say the CPU is 2.4GHz and would go up to 3ghz with overclocking. Is it running at 3GHz all the time even during idol stats or simple tasks? Like basically whenever it needs more than 2.4 GHz it'll start using more? And if not then if let's say I take it to class to take notes with or surf the web. It won't heat up because it wouldn't be using 3GHz right? And let's say if I did need 3Ghz, if I use a cooling pad like the Cooler Master NotePal X2 Laptop Cooling Pad with 140mm Blue LED Fan (R9-NBC-4WAK-GP). Would it somehow help cool it down?
I'd like to know if my netbook would be overclock able or not. And if possible how exactly to achieve such an epic achievement? @_@. I'm not sure how exactly to present the specs so I'll provide the link of the laptop if that will help. If it isn't realistic at all I'll understand. I actually plan to invest on an assembled computer in a year or so. That I'll put time to study and get the best parts I can. But between now and then I only have this netbook, so I'd like to get out as much as I can off it within the year.
