How To Change Standard Vga Graphics Adapter
Apr 11, 2010yesterday i installed windows 7 to my computer . and when i installed my graphics card driver , it only shows standard vga graphics adapter in Device manager. and in Display-screen resolution- advanced settings it shows :

my graphics card is : EAH3870/G/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 3870 512MB
i tryed installing the latest driver and the only thing it show's is that. .. how do i change standard vga graphics adapter to my Radeon HD 3870..... and when i restarted my pc it's screen resolution is changed to 800+600 ....

Laptop Graphics Card Not Functioning Properly
Jan 14, 2013I am not really good with computers, I know something is wrong but not really sure how to fix it, I use Windows 7 Ultimate with a dedicated graphics card 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M and a intergrated graphics card Intel HD Graphics 4000 installed in my laptop, I used to be able to play Total War Shogun 2 (and other games) with my AMD Radeon Graphics Card, but for some reason my laptop decides to run on my Intel HD Graphics 4000 instead now. With my little knowledge that I have, when I go to device manager -> display adaptors, I can see both AMD Radeon 7970M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 there and my laptop shows that both graphics card are functioning properly (and up to date). But when I go to DxDiag, it only shows the Intel HD Graphics 4000, and when I disable my Intel HD Graphics 4000, my laptop cannot detect any graphics card.

Aug 21, 2012So I went on a three day trip. When I got home, I turned on my computer. The cooling unit made an unusual noise, and all of a sudden the monitor turned off, as well as the computer. Now, whenever I turn on the computer, it works perfectly fine (The cooling unit noise is gone also) but the monitor just goes to the ASUS boot logo and tells me VGA no signal. Even that only happens sometimes, it will mostly just remain in sleep mode. Things I have done:
- Tried with a different monitor
- Tried with DVI cable
I wish I could tell you my graphics card but I just don't remember.
Compaq C712nr Computer Graphics Card
Sep 27, 2012Just wondering if anyone has updated their Compaq C712nr computer to Windows 7. It came with the 32 bit Windows Vista in it and I upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem I hve is with the graphics card. I can see things OK and there is color, however everything seems to be "generic". I cannot customize/personalize the color schemesor anything like that. I know that when I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor, it did single out the graphics card as "not compatible". If so did you find some driver for the graphics card that would enable you to "work around" this problem and give you the full range of graphics/colors as you would normally have? I have tried downloading a new driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 but it seemed to do nothing. It all worked fine with the old Vista 32 bit system.

Sep 27, 2012Over the last few days, my computer has been freezing. Before it freezes I repeatedly get a black screen flashing up and then a message that my graphics driver wasn't working but is has been repaired. It does this about 5 times, before completely freezing (ctrl + alt + del doesn't do anything). I have forced it to shut down and started it up, and it works for about 1 minute. At the time I was using microsoft one note (which I haven't had any problems with before), and google chrome, which I have only recently installed. I tried uninstalling chrome and using IE but it did the same after about only a minute of being switched on.My laptop is about 4 years old, but I've only had problems over the last few days. I'm currenly using safe mode, and I'm not having any crashing/freezing.

Jun 29, 2009 - Win 7 RC 7100 32 bit does not load the correct graphics card driver and even the boot menu is not displayed correctly (fuzzy black screen, issue known from Ubuntu installations where it was solved by adapting boot loader specifications…) I do know however, that the boot menu is loaded correctly as “arrow down” + “enter” starts XP without any issues.
Win 7 is somewhat loaded, when hitting “enter” only in what I think must be the boot menue. Harddrive gets active and for 5 secons I even get a “black screen in normal resolution” with the arrow displayed correctly. Then unfortunately returning to fuzzy mode.
Questions:
- How to boot Win 7 in vga or graphics modus being blinded? When hitting F8 hard drive reacts differently, but how then to select the right boot option without seeing anything?
- Is there an option to install a different graphics card driver into win 7 via the working XP?
- Is there an option to modify the boot menu’s options via working XP, e.g., setting to vga modus (that did the trick for Ubuntu).
- Any experience with Radeon Mobility 9600 (MV350) under Win 7?
Computer Won't Recognize Original Graphics Card For Dual Monitors
Jan 12, 2012i've never tried to hook up dual monitors before so its probably something simple. i installed a new graphics card a while back and haven't used the original for months, and now that im trying to hook up dual monitors it wont even recognize the original in the device manager, or that i have a monitor plugged into it. both monitors work perfectly fine in the newer card slot.
