[GRAPHICS] Monitor Suddenly Will Not Recognize Computer
Aug 21, 2012
So I went on a three day trip. When I got home, I turned on my computer. The cooling unit made an unusual noise, and all of a sudden the monitor turned off, as well as the computer. Now, whenever I turn on the computer, it works perfectly fine (The cooling unit noise is gone also) but the monitor just goes to the ASUS boot logo and tells me VGA no signal. Even that only happens sometimes, it will mostly just remain in sleep mode. Things I have done:
- Tried with a different monitor
- Tried with DVI cable
I wish I could tell you my graphics card but I just don't remember.
i've never tried to hook up dual monitors before so its probably something simple. i installed a new graphics card a while back and haven't used the original for months, and now that im trying to hook up dual monitors it wont even recognize the original in the device manager, or that i have a monitor plugged into it. both monitors work perfectly fine in the newer card slot.
actualy i replaced my os which used to be windows xp with windows 2007 ,since then my monitor gets turned off suddenly but the remaining system is still on, and i have to restart my whole system.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Macbook Pro, and I would like to use the laptop screen as well as my ASUS 23" lcd monitor. When I open the display > screen resolution window, it shows that I have only one display, and gives me no options for multiple displays. The same image is displayed on both screens. My 2nd monitor is hooked up through DVI, and worked just fine with Windows XP. Does anyone know what my problem might be?
suddenly i can't use the old monitor resolution. I was using 1440 x 900, now it doesn't let me anymore; when i 'forced it' from nvidia control panel it appeard with two black bars on the sides and foggy text. I think is a problem with the monitor recognition, because it doesn't appear my name monitor, it appears Generic Non-PnP Monitor.I mention that i already reinstall the windows and graphics driver.
Installed it over 6 weeks ago in windows7 RC 64bit with Vista drivers.
works perfectly
turned my machine on today and suddenly its stopped working with this:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I haven't touched anything, havent changed anything, I've done nothing.
Why the hell has this happened? I'm screwed now and have to pother about dual booting into XP just to get my artwork finished
Why has Windows 7 suddenly decided to block my drivers that have been working perfectly fine for 6 weeks for no reason!?
suddenly my win 7 ultimate won't recognize viewsonic vg2230wm LCD monitor. Installation of driver doesn't help. It always show non-PnP monitor and max 1024x758 resolution which should be 1680x1050. Hardware id shows just default monitor. However win 7 recognize my other monitor correctly. I'm out of options.
I Have an Nvidia geforce gt 220 graphics card and it works on all my games but one. The graphics card wont show up in Microsoft Midtown Madness for some unknown reason? This game was fine and worked perfectly before i upgraded my PC From XP to Windows 7. This is Strange because this game works on my dads laptop (Windows 7) and recognizes the graphics card perfect, so its not windows 7, but its not the graphics card because it worked on XP.
I recently got a new laptop: HP Pavilion dv6-6b12ed
I have a Control panel from Intel where I could change the colors of my screen and other stuff, but I can't get it to open! Here's my weird problem: It shows in the system tray but when I click it I see this: [URL]
When I try to click on it, or anywhere else, it disappears and the program won't open. I've even tried ALL methods in this following link: Graphics — How to open the Intel Graphics Properties window
I think the problem will be solved if I can re-install the driver, but I've no idea what to (un)install. If you need any additional info on my system specs, just ask me or look up my laptop specs.
the problem being is the motherboard will not recognize the graphics card with the latest drives and older ones to test, the strange thing is if i take a stick of memory out it boots up in single memory mode and recognises the card straight away, likewise if i install another module to make it 6gb it fires up perfectly and plays CODMW3 no problem but if i am doing office work after about 30minutes the screen starts to flicker and black lines appear through writing then finally the BSOD comes up complaining about one of the graphics card drivers, dont get me wrong i have played COD for ages and not had a problem, i am at a bit of a loss i want 6gb memory ideally but the system becomes unstable, the system works great as an office computer with 4gb of memory but wont play videos or do video editing because it doesnt recognize the card.
I have been looking for a Windows 7 driver for a NVIDIA Geforce Go 6800for an Alienware Area-51 M7700 laptop. Every driver that I download from NVIDIA's website gives me the error message during the installation that it cannot find a driver compatible with my hardware. Windows 7 has installed a generic "standard VGA adapter" which does not allow for aero functionality
I am running a Geforce GT 240 in a HP Pen 4 quad core with 1 Terabit hard drive and a 19 in LCD HD Emmerson TV / PC Monitor and i can't get the sesolutions to match with out having to resize the desktop to a smaller resolution. And all my resolution are not available.
Asus VE228T that I use as the main display on my left (and my laptop screen works as the secondary screen on the right). The resolution is 1920 x 1080, wasn't displaying anything and I went to the Screen Resolution properties and tried doing what I've always done if the screen hasn't been on, choosing "extend these displays", didn't work right as the laptop screen remained as the main one (usually the Asus has switched as the main display by itself) and the Asus did turn on BUT with my laptop's resolution.
I have had a dual monitor setup with my laptop(Inspiron 1545 with GM45 Intel Card) extending to a regular LCD screen. It worked for two months and until recently has stopped working.I have uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled the newest drivers, changed the cables(power supply and VGA), system restored back a month to when it was working, and changed the power outlet. This originally worked flawlessly and now the laptop is not recognizing any device I attach via the VGA output. I have plugged the laptop into another monitor with no avail as well. I find it hard to believe that this would stop working one day with no notice or any problems. I have also tried attaching a projector that had worked for over a year with the laptop and have gotten nothing.
I receive a black screen as if to say this something being outputted, but nothing is displayed. Both windows screen resolution and the intel GUI both do not recognize another device. [code]
So I just got a new gateway dx4860-ub32p tower. The problem I am having is that when trying to use a second monitor for extended desktop the hdmi is not recognized. When I start the computer both monitors have the boot screen and starting windows screen. Past that only my monitor plugged in by vga cable is recognized. When I go to graphics options there is only one screen option shown. I am using windows seven the second monitor is a flat screen tv.
After I reformatted windows 7 I notice that it looked funny and that my graphics card was set to standard and my monitor was set to generic pnp monitor. Ive downloaded the graphic card drivers from amd but they still dont show up.
Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601) Dell Inc. Studio XPS 1645 A13 System Service Tag: 2T6BCN1 (support for this PC) Chassis Serial Number: 2T6BCN1 Enclosure Type: Portable
To wits end I am stumped after installing a new SSD HD today and clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.The problem I am having is that in device manager under Display Adapters it list Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Also for Monitors it Lists Generic PnP Monitor.I have downloaded and updated the latest drivers for each hardware and a I am still getting the same result. This is frustrating since I could not image my old version of Windows 7 from a larger, slower HD to the new/faster SSD HD. Windows 7 imaging suggests that the new HD must be larger than the old HD in order to do an image restore.I have read this is not the case however found that in no way have I been able to successfully image restore my old OS from the larger HD to the new smaller SSD HD.
ok I have no idea on this one and the good news is i can't fix it LOL.
i have an hp m9340f purchased a couple new nvidea graphics cards when I started getting the noisy fan issue .
Installed windows 7 everything worked great but was having problems with windows media center after I went to a 56k connection so i decided to format start over,
Everytime it installs the drivers for my nvidea graphics card my monitor goes black and has no signal. i tried both dif cards. same problem. I am guessing it is the recommended settings but since I only have one monitor I can't change the settings cause.. can't see to do it, and I have no other monitor to hook to to try.
I can start up in safe mode so any idea's how to fix this issue or change it all to 800 x 600 so i can see when it starts up with new drivers .....
i have this big problem is that my graphics card as a problem that in almost 2 years it never did thisi never had problems with this computerbut what happend is that i use a LCD screen the resolution is use is 1768x992 and i use a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics card what happends is that when i turn the computer on i see the screen with ALOT of lines with weird colors and i thought this was a drivers problem so i installed the graphics card drive and clean the PC up for the 2nd time nothing worked so i tried formating it but i doubt it that would work because those lines where there so yeai did manage on getting a screen cap from the windows and it looks like thishe weird part is that the lines and stuff that appear on the screen as well dont show up on the picture so i tried using another monitor and it had the same resultim using Windows Ultimate 32 bit i have my graphics card connected to my TV(LCD) with a HDMI cable i thought it could be that so i tried another cable it didnt work so at this point i ran out of ideas
about a year ago I had a problem with my pc where I would get the error message "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" and the occasional BSOD. I solved this problem by simply flashing my bios. However a similar problem has now arrived ( note I have not changed any hardware since the last error) where:
- There is a constant buzzing from my monitor ( NOT a problem with the monitor as it works fine in safe mode with no buzzing, which is why I suspect a gpu problem)
- I get random "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" messages, but no BSODs. OR the display just goes black and I have to hard reset my pc.
I just installed my ATI Radeon X1950 XT sapphire graphics card to my computer. I inserted it into the slot and plugged it in. Now when I turn on my computer the monitor keeps getting the Check Signal Cable error. I have it plugged in properly and everything not sure what is going on.
I just accidentally changed my settings on my grapics card so that I can no longer see my desktop on the monitor connected to my HTPC. My HTPC has a monitor attached to it and it also has an HDMI out from the graphics card going to an LED TV in another room. I accidentally switched it so that the desktop can only be seen on the other TV in the other room.
All I can see on the monitor is the blank Windows 7 logo (no desktop icons) and I cannot navigate back to my AMD control page to undo this. I tried rebooting but this does not work. This is an issue as I don't have a bluetooth keyboard/mouse that I can use in the other room to control the desktop. How do I reset this? I am using a AMD HD 6750 graphics card.
i have installed 2 case fans to have to air flow. and when i booted the pc couple of mins later, it suddenly turns off. i unplug both of the case fans and did the same thing.
My computer suddenly restarts on it's own. I've cleaned it, checked for loose connections. The temps are fine (for where I'm from anyway, pretty hot here most of the time). The time between restarts shortens through continuous usage. My computer's always having problems (replaced the psu due to it getting grounded, reformatted multiple times to fix software issues). This is the first computer I've built by the way. This started after installing a game but I already uninstalled that. And the errors I get from event log are normal (from what I've gathered from other threads). I tried checking my memsticks yung memtest but it still restarts on it's own. As I've said, my psu was recently replaced (less than 6 months ago).
I have several disc's that have files on them from when I HAD Windows XP for some reason ,when I put them in to play those files 7 doesn't even realize that there is a disc.
I recently started having trouble with my laptop running very slowly. I ran avg and also Spybot and they came back with no viruses or spyware. I opened the task manager and noticed that it is running at 100% CPU, and assume that is the reason for the lag. I noticed teatimer associated with Spybot S&D was taking up a lot of memory, so I uninstalled S&D and reinstalled it without the teatimer. That seemed to speed it up slightly, but it is still running slow, particularly when trying to play videos or opening programs needing java. I also ran PC tools registry mechanic to scan the registry, clean up the disks and registry, and defrag the registry, but not getting any faster. Looking at the processes in the task manager, the two that are using up the most CPU seem to be connected to my Belkin Router (which I have been using without this problem for several months)kbackupscheduler.exe and Connect.exe go back and forth between 47% CPU and 50% CPU each.consequences of stopping (or removing) them would be
I can be away from the computer with no programs running besides the start up (which is just basic functions, kaspersky, and skype) and come back and the computer will respond like normal, except everything will jump around and take about 1/4th of a second for the mouse to move properly where I try to move it, if I am talking to anyone on skype their voices get chopped.
So my screen freezes and cant move my mouse at that time. it came after i installed my amd bulldozer fx 6100 into my recent build (Msi 890fxa gd 65 board, gskill ripjaws f3-10666CL9D-9GBRL , msi radeon 6870 twinfrozr 3 and some sata 2 WD harddrive. It sometimes happend on my old build where was an amd phenom II x2 565 3.4ghz processor... Now its happening nearly every 15mins or so. After i defrag my 2year old harddrive it comes after 30-60minutes..I think its about the processor not being compatible to the memory and motherboard(OR the harddrive being 2years old and sata 2 and nomore in the markets, makes crappy noises even .Because the memory box says "Designed for Intel LGA 1156 platforms / Compatible whit Intel LGA 1155 sandy bridge and amd am3 CPUS.And their website says that the 890fxa gd65 board does not support that memory, but still detects and works in my build. My chipset in the motherboard is AMD am3 and supports am3+.
