I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my Samsung R519 laptop. I have noticed that the touchpad is more sensitive vertically than horizontally. Is there anywhere I can change individual axis sensitivity in Windows 7?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have certain files and folders that I would like to distinguish from others, without creating a new folder. (I have enough folders as it is.) Is there a way to make individual file name fonts look different than others (bold, color, italics, etc)? I would prefer not to use a 3rd party file manager: I read that if a file is compressed, the file name turns blue. If it is not possible to do what I am asking above, is there any downside to compressing the files I wish to distinguish, so their file names will turn blue?

Once I do the compatibility thi the game starts. but it freezes during game play and the start screen doesn't work (gobbles the graphics). Also the mouse movement is invisible. Could this be a direct x issue?
In Windows 7 how can I change "Folders View" for individual folders without changing them system wide. For example if I select "always show icons" all my folders are set this way, and that's fine. But there are a few folders I have containing jpeg images, and I want to view those as "thumbnails" without effecting the others which are set to always show icons.
This was very easy to do in Windows XP but I can't figure out how to do it in Windows 7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my laptop. Prior to formatting, the mouse was working PERFECTLY. After formatting, the mouse is acting much differently. I am using the Synaptics software just as I was before I reinstalled Windows 7, and the mouse pad is MUCH more sensitive than it used to be when my palm hits it. If I type anything in the QWERTY row, my palm never fails to tap the mousepad and it screws everything up (you know how it goes).
I've gone into the Synaptics settings and changed palm check sensitivity and everything else on there that I think would help, and nothing does.
When i pass over the icon of firefox on my toolbar at the bottom of the screen( unsure of its real name but the bar with the time and start icon) each and every tab shows up separately. just today i repartitioned my hardrive, and before the reinstall it only showed whatever windows were open, no matter how many tabs were in each.If there is any way i can return it to the old state that would be fantastical, i find it much easier to keep track of my browser and the windows i have open
View 4 Replies View RelatedI vaguely recall that when I first got on Windows 7 I was able to do the new feature taskbar rearrangement with all items on the bar, but currently when I try to move one explorer item it wants to move them all, which means I can put a program to the left or right of all explorer windows, but I can't move an explorer window opened later left of any earlier one. Is that a standard limitation? is my memory failing me, or have I maybe changed some feature that does allow explorer items on the taskbar to be shuffled amongst each other, rather than being effectively attached to each other in their present order?

I have a few external drives that i don't always use and want to be able to have them shutdown when i am not using them. They shutdown when the computer goes into sleep mode but I would like to be able to make them shutdown (and power up) without putting the whole computer to sleep.
So I was wondering if there is a way to make a usb device think the port its plugged into is asleep in Win7 x64.
I've had three BSOD's in three days now all while playing either Skyrim and Dead Island. I have the three individual crash dumps attached.The video card I am using is new to the system and has had its drivers updated to Nvidia's latest (not those from the manufacturer's homepage).My guess is that I'm either having some kind of conflict with drivers here or that my PSU is inadequate but without being able to decipher the information in the dumps I can't tell. BSOD's are not my specialty at all but I don't want to simply ignore this.

It always worries me a little, wondering if that particular update was left blank for a reason. I'm running a customized version of Windows 7 64-bit, so maybe the customization has something to do with it, but I can't see how a tweak that was performed before I even installed the OS can have impact on which updates are defined as "automatic".What does it mean for an update to have a blank checkbox in Wondows Update?

Ultimately what I would like to do is while I'm playing movies and not using the other monitors (such as laying down to take a nap or playing movies with friends) I want to have a screensaver display on the unused monitors. So I've not long migrated from XP to 7 and I've noticed that every time I watch or stream audio my Adobe Flash Player 11 which I like to set to 50% in Volume Mixer jumps up to 75% which makes the audio playback distorted & poor sound quality.
How do I get it to stay at 50% ? Usually I do like to set volumes to 75% which is what I've got my Realtek Device set to but Adobe crackles and sounds bad at 75% so I have to set it to 50%
I have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.
