I have a problem that the icons will not open in normal mode. I have found the following in the event log.

Windows 7, 32 and 64bit, 8 gig memory, service pack 1, Only happens on the 32bit boot.
I've got a problem that came up recently and I think it might have something to do with one of the latest Windows 7 updates. Most of the time when I open up My Computer, it scans for a really long time and shows nothing(ie.no HDDs, Optical Drives or Network Locations) and in certain folders the icons and thumbnails are completely missing. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my laptop, I recently started having the peculiar issue that when I tried to attach files to my e-mails, the "Browse" button that should have opened an explorer window did not open one at all. I tried it with various e-mail accounts and all of them did not work.Then, I tried using a "save image as" to see if that part of the explorer was also not responding, and it was not. Lastly, I checked another program I had that would need to browse through explorer.exe and it also failed to run. If I just try to browse files regularly by clicking on the folder and looking through them, it works just fine. It's just other programs are not getting through to be able to access the files.The last thing I changed about my computer was updating video drivers, and there's no reason as to why that would have any influence (not to mention the update I did was about 2 weeks before the explorer started acting up). Also, I do want to make it clear that it is not the "browser" at fault, but the "browse" function that connects to my computer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI suddenly had trouble opening windows explorer and Iron, I managed to fix the windows explorer from a video off You Tube but the Iron problem still remains.When I go to the taskbar and put the curser over the Iron icon the box opens above it but when I click on it, it partly opens and then moves across the screen to the right then disappears. IE, Firefox and Chrome still work but not Iron also Speedfan doesn't open from the taskbar

Although Chrome is my preferred browser, I have also tried opening Facebook in Firefox and IE, to no avail. Basically, it's timing out. The error message I receive in Chrome says, "Google Chrome cannot load the webpage because facebook.com took too long to respond." On the rare occasions I have actually gotten onto Facebook, I usually cannot open links, or it freezes, or I get booted off quickly. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with BROWSING the WWW when i am logged into tunngle, i am also unable to log into uPlay for example, which is used for playing Far Cry 3. The weird thing is, that my P2P and Skype continue to work without any issues.If it's any good, my internet connection isn't stable neither when I'm NOT logged to tunngle.Some times my browser works normally, sometimes it doesn't work at all and it acts like I'm not connected to the internet , however, P2P works all the time, even when the browser is "dead".

Do they open tabs one by one or they have batch or script file. I just want test it because most of the time, I only open 10 to 15 tabs when browsing the internet. View 3 Replies View RelatedI performed a system recovery very recently on my HP Pavilion (Running Windows 7 OS). I re-installed Chrome as my default browser and my other programs. Lately, whenever I open my browser or any of my other programs, every page starts minimized and I have to use the maximize button to get a normal view. This was not the case previously and I do not know what has been changed in the system. Frequently, I use AVG PC Tuneup to clean up junk files, clean the registry, and defragment the disks. Is there a setting that is perhaps being erased by all the cleaning?

I'm trying to connect to the internet through my existing home wireless network which a Macbook, Macbook Air, Toshiba Windows 7 laptop and iMac in the house can all connect to and access no problems.I've got an ADSL modem set up in bridge mode and an Airport Extreme as router and wireless access point.I can connect to the router fine. I am assigned an IP address fine. When I open a browser window the internet is very slow or times out.When I ping the router it usually times out or I get a very high ping.I've tried so many things to fix it I'm getting desperate! including:
-Disabled and uninstalled firewall and security software
-Changed wireless channels
-Disabled Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

I noticed that my sound was skipping one day.Did what most would do check setting, reset comp.Then reinstalled drivers/window updates,nothing worked.But then I noticed it only would skip when I would open a a web browser page,with firefox.I use vlc for media player?
I tried to open a program using the open with option and it changed the icons for every program on my laptop. I changed the desktop (network, my computer etc) icons back to default but can't manage to change the others. If i go into properties for the program and change it that way it doesn't do anything.

My problem is that quite a few of the desktop icons wont open, such as itunes, Advanced System Care4 etc. If I dbl-click on one, the pointer flickers momentarily and then nothing however if I open the task manager they are listed as running. Today I clicked on itunes and it didn't open so I gave up and left and watched an entire football game on TV. I came back 3 hrs later set down at my desk and all of a suden itunes popped up. Three hours to load the program. Same will happen with AVS4. I have turned off all start up items and shut down microsoft items at start up and that worked once then the problem began again so I tried it again but this time it knew what I was doing and went around the fix. )
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling softwares, registry fixes, registry cleaners ,Malwarebites,IOBits, AVG scans, Microsofts "sfc /scannow" but no signs of a virus or registry corruption. Even tried a memory scan. (said programs won't open from All Programs list either)
i run winows 7 and when i log in i can open the desktop icons for a while but then they stop working and the mouse wont open them or right click on them and neither can i right click on the open desktop as nothing happens.ive tried a system restore no good. when i restart hte computer its ok for a few minutes then the same problem again.
