After installing the latest updates for Windows 7, I now get a message that periodically comes ON near the System Tray saying "Additional Login Information may be required, Click to open browser". How do I get rid of this message and what is it for?

View 2 Replies View RelatedUnder Win 7 (Home Premium 64-bit) I save login/password information for several programs, Dreamweaver 8, for example, for several sites that I manage. This worked fine for over a year after installing on win 7, but then suddenly (perhaps after a win 7 update, I don't know) that stored information disappeared and when I retype it (checking "save login/pw" ), it ALWAYS loses that information again--for other programs as well (also my email program--which is also a 32-bit program, in case that is relevant), so that I have to type the login/pw information in anew each time I restart each program. BTW, those same programs are able to save this information for those same programs on my work computer, which uses a different (32 bit) version of Win 7, and on my netbook, which also runs a lower version (Starter) of Win 7.

View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently bought a new Asus Laptop and am having difficulty login into some of my universities pages with the new computer (namely outlook web access and some library login pages). This happens regardless of connection type (LAN, WLAN and Mobile Broadband). I have reset IPCONFIG and other network settings and have disabled anti-virus software to no avail. So far, my universities website is the only one it is having difficulty with with other websites like facebook having no problems logging in. This happens regardless of browser also. In internet explorer, some of the images fail to load on the page (indicating the page won't fully load) and this is obviously followed by the fact that page says 'connection error' after clicking the login button and waiting around 30 seconds. It is also evident that this is not an issue on the university's side.

When I'm on a page that has a response button or active web mail address, if I click on the button, my browser starts opening tabs one after another at a very high velocity. Hundreds of them, perhaps thousands if I didn't intervene, the tabs that DEVOURED CLEVELAND! This happens on IE8, Firefox9, so I'm assuming any browser. My computer is new and I'm new to Windows 7 (64bit?) & no I don't have my finger lounging on the keyboard. The only way to stop the process is to hold down the pause/break key. But only while you're holding it down. If you let up it goes right on propagating. So exiting the web page is the only method to stop it.

Although Chrome is my preferred browser, I have also tried opening Facebook in Firefox and IE, to no avail. Basically, it's timing out. The error message I receive in Chrome says, "Google Chrome cannot load the webpage because facebook.com took too long to respond." The weird thing is, that my P2P and Skype continue to work without any issues.If it's any good, my internet connection isn't stable neither when I'm NOT logged to tunngle.Some times my browser works normally, sometimes it doesn't work at all and it acts like I'm not connected to the internet , however, P2P works all the time, even when the browser is "dead".

I performed a system recovery very recently on my HP Pavilion (Running Windows 7 OS). I re-installed Chrome as my default browser and my other programs. Lately, whenever I open my browser or any of my other programs, every page starts minimized and I have to use the maximize button to get a normal view. This was not the case previously and I do not know what has been changed in the system. Frequently, I use AVG PC Tuneup to clean up junk files, clean the registry, and defragment the disks. Is there a setting that is perhaps being erased by all the cleaning?

I'm trying to connect to the internet through my existing home wireless network which a Macbook, Macbook Air, Toshiba Windows 7 laptop and iMac in the house can all connect to and access no problems.I've got an ADSL modem set up in bridge mode and an Airport Extreme as router and wireless access point.I can connect to the router fine. I am assigned an IP address fine. When I open a browser window the internet is very slow or times out.When I ping the router it usually times out or I get a very high ping.I've tried so many things to fix it I'm getting desperate! including:

I noticed that my sound was skipping one day.Did what most would do check setting, reset comp.Then reinstalled drivers/window updates,nothing worked.But then I noticed it only would skip when I would open a a web browser page,with firefox.I use vlc for media player?
rather than in a new tab both in firefox and chrome even though i double checked all the settings in "options", on top of that, everything i type all become in caps regardless if the "caps lock" is on or off. I tried restarting the computer, it worked fine for a while, but before long, the issues all come back again

I reinstalled windows and a month after the reinstall, whenever I right click on only any file to open/cut/copy/rename/delete, it takes too much time, and many times the folder in which file exist goes unresponding. I have found that when clicking on 'Computer' in the Start Menu or the icon on Desktop ; there is no response and I cannot gain access to computer on on that disk.I have run various malware, anti virus programs but all seems clear I have formatted and reinstalled Win7 and the games from DCS.
