Every time i try to save a document in office or excell 2003 i get the blue screen of death i hve re loaded office tried restore and removed recent programs still unsolved will save in safe mode only problem no internet or sound so working is very slow. tried to get blue scren code but disapears to quick is there any way i can halt screen to view and write down code.

Modified Pages seems to grow without bound after a few days of leaving the pc on until it hits the physical memory limit, then the system pretty much grinds to a halt due to low memory. Imagine booting win 7 at 35% RAM usage which increases to bout 70% at idle after 1 day and then 96% after bout 4-5 days
Any idea what's going on? Is there a way to remove cached memory without restarting? Or set some limits?
I just replaced the motherboard on my desktop PC from a five-year old Asus P5N32E-SLI to a new Asus P8Z77-VLE Core 5 Intel with 16 gigs of RAM. I reloaded Windows 7, which I had been using before, and installed all updates and patches. Before I made the switch I was able to use Remote Desktop to connect to my desktop PC from the two laptops elsewhere in my house, over my home's LAN, and the Remote experience was virtually as fast as if I was logged in on my desktop PC locally. But with the new motherboard, RD virtually comes to a halt after a few seconds of connect time. For example, the screen takes many minutes to redraw after even the slightest change; it is totally unusable, and I used to use it every day. The new motherboard is the only thing I have changed; all my other computers and networking gear didn't change. (Though I upgraded the BIOS in my Linksys router after the problem started, to no avail.) I have followed all the suggestions I found online: Disabling auto-tuning, changing the mouse pointer to a basic one, scaling back the Remote Desktop "experience," etc. Nothing has worked. As far as I can tell, all my drivers are up to date. Without a Remote Connection session, my laptops "see" the drives on my desktop fine, and LAN drive-to-drive transfer speeds are normal. But they, too, start to bog down once I get a minute or two into an RD session.

I have a win 7 sp1 4GB ram 500gb hd pc. I keep getting this bsod saying bugcode usb driver... This prob has been around for months & every time, I need to force shutdown by long pressing the power key and reboot. These days I get this bsod twice a day - every 2 hrs I use the pc.Also, I get this popup at the taskbar saying usb device not installed properly. When I uninstalled the generic usb my system automatically reinstalls it but sill gives the popup from time to time?

I use windows 7 home premium, an XFX 750i nForce motherboard, intel q9550 processor and an EVGA GTX 460 GPU. I am also using 8Gb of wintec ampx DDR2 RAM. I am not sure what is causing this as I had just taken in my computer about a month ago for a diagnostics at tiger direct and they said everything was fine. I want to view multiple windows side by side across the screen, and it kind of works, with a few issues.The first is that it never includes the window in which I am running Firefox, it will arrange every other window side by side and leave the browser window open at the original size across the whole lot. The second is I can't work out a way to say view windows side by side but exclude some - I want to snap my browser windows and a couple of other things which receive regular updates to the best possible use of the screen, but ignore windows running utilities, email, etc. Is there a way to say place some windows side by side without having to shut down and reopen the ones I'm not interested in viewing on side by side?
The third is, is there any way to specify the order in which I want it to display the windows? I get them in all kinds of random orders and even if I drag them around to be almost exactly where I want them, if I use the "side by side" they jump into different orders - I want Firefox to the left, IE to the right (they fulfil different view functions for me) and the other program in the middle. There seems to be no way for me to tell the system I want them lined up like that. Will I have to line things up on the screen manually if I want them like that? It's not always the same programs so I don't want to start incorporating commands to force them to run in certain sizes and locations.

discovered a way to change the Windows 7 file and folder view to "List" view instead of the default Win 7 "Details" view?In WinXP, you simply went to Folder Options dialog box >> "View" tab and it allowed you to change the view for an entire drive with one click. Win 7 does not do this.much prefer "List" view, but the only way to change it is folder-by-folder which becomes aggravating after several dozen folder changes.Plus, once you have changed the file view inside of a folder to "List" view... if you change the folder name, every file and folder, no matter how deep, inside that re-named folder will return to "Details" view.hat a PITA...I have Googled this and searched for some time, but have come up with no answer, I thought I might ask the folks at Tom's and see what we come up with.

Instead History will show Recents Pages by X pages (Recent FIFO method), it shows by "Today".
Every time when it is 00:00 (midnight), it resets all the history I've had.
