Wpeinit During Windows 7 Install & Cancel Pending Installation Of Windows 7

Apr 2, 2012

I am trying to install 64 bit Windows 7 in order to repair windows installer, So i tried an upgrade installation (as suggested in another forum) with the original cd. (Win 7 was already installed on the pc, in this way i only tryed to repair the error)The installation was going well. No problems were encounted as the program proceeded through the gathering files process. Then, a MSDOS window appeared and the installation hung-up. At the top of the box is:Adminitrator:X:$WINDOWS~BTWindowssystem32cmd.exe. Inside the box is: X:$WINDOWS~BTWindowssystem32>wpeinit. On the next line is: X:$WINDOWS~BTWindowssystem32>_ The installation has stopped. Now i can regularly use the pc if before booting that screen if i press up and down keys alternatively until i can choose to continue Windows 7 installation or start windows. In that way the pc works fine. But i would like to prevent this operation (the pc isn't mine)..how to cancel a previous pending installation of Windows 7?

Windows 7 Installation Cancel?

Sep 13, 2011

I have a friend with an Acer laptop, with built in system recovery(as opposed to discs for installation)...they had a virus and thought they could just repair windows with the recovery but once they realized it was going to install windows, they turned the computer off. Now when the computer starts, it goes through bios, then it goes to the windows loading screen(screen before welcome/user selection screen) and then it goes to setup is starting. I checked the directories using UBCD4WIN and everything is still intact, however I need a way to either alter startup so the setup doesn't run or a way to cancel the startup

Windows 7 Unresponsive - Current Pending Sector Count Yellow

Oct 17, 2012

I bought this computer three months ago, and had no problems, up until now. It all started with it freezing up all of a sudden, forcing me to restart. But the display didn't show up. Tried again. Didn't work. Eventually, I removed my GPU and placed it back again, thinking it was loose. Then it finally worked.

Then it happened again. So after taking out my graphics card twice, it finally started working, but my HDD started making strange sounds. A sound I've never heard before, and only occurred during start up. I shrugged it off.

Now I start getting these sort of instances, when what ever program I have open, stops responding and Windows get's pretty laggy. The Windows Explorer (Not IE, the tool bar thing) also is unresponsive. I know it can't be a virus, Trend Micro showed no signs of anything after I scanned my computer a bunch of times.

So I did what any sane person would do, I did a bit of research on the net, and found this thread on this forums. The person here had a similar problem that I did. After reading most of the comments, I downloaded HDD SMART, as instructed, and apparently "Current Pending Sector Count" is yellow.

"Windows Could Not Complete The Installation, To Install Windows On This Computer, Restart The Installation"

Apr 16, 2012

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.

This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

System Repair Pending Which Requires Reboot To Complete

Jan 12, 2012

When I go to Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsPerformance Information and Tools and click "Rate this computer," it crashes before it's done.Desktop Window Manager Sessions Manager is disabled, not running, and the option to start it is greyed out. sfc scannow didn't finish, so I ran it at boot (url) That gave me the error "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete." I rebooted into windows and then back to the disc several times and got the error each time. My computer does not have a pending.xml file. Since sfc scannow wasn't working, I tried to do a repair install (as described here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutoria [...] ml?ltr=R). I ran the compatibility check (by clicking "upgrade" after starting setup) on the windows 7 disk and it gave me this message: "Windows needs to be restarted so necessary changes to system files can be made before continuing." Restarting, however, does not accomplish this. What can I do? It seems my main problem right now is finishing up whatever Windows thinks it needs to update on a reboot (I've rebooted many times since discovering the message.

Win 7 installed and is working perfect, duel booting with XP on two HDD's.The problem, put the second stick of Ram back in XP boots and runs perfectly but reboot to windows 7 and it freezes on the startup screen. Take it back out and it works no problem.

WiFi Icon Shows Orange Star - Pending Connection

I recently purchased the Dell XPS 14z and it has been working fine, however when I take it out to work (where there's no wifi connections) a red 'x' now appears on the wifi icon in the task tray. Usually it just shows an orange star and is essentially 'pending' connections. When I try and use my BlackBerry Bold 9900 to connect using the mobile internet it says that it can't connect as the wifi radio may be off? This hasn't happened before and I've tried everything to troubleshoot it with no luck.

[INSTALL] Windows 7 Installation - Drivers Not Found?

Jul 10, 2011

Tolerance here, new to the forums as some of you may notice. Anyways I'm trying to install Windows 7 ultimate package on a PC that previously had Windows Vista. I've already ran the Windows Adviser program, and my PC seems fine so i went ahead and tried to install. First i tried using a burned ISO file to a DVD, with this i made my primary boot device the DVD drive, and my setup started normally. But after i selected the language, then a custom installation, and was directed to select the driver in which Windows 7 would be installed on i would get an error that reads, No device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers then click OK."

I've browsed these forums looking for someone with similar problems, and i did find them, and a lot of the threads were really annoying seeing as how so many people decided to reply with long irrelevant comments. Based on the answers from those threads I've tried burning the ISO file with a different burner (which was suggested often), but still with no prevail. So i was wondering if there was a problem with my system, or maybe my C: drive.

Windows 7 Install On New HDD 'Completing Installation' Forever

Oct 26, 2012

Yesterday I bought a new hard drive. I went from a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB to a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB. So, same family of HDDs. I put in a burned Windows 7 install disc, and the process went okay until after the computer restarted and moved on to 'Completing Installation'. It just sits there. It doesn't freeze - I can move the mouse and there are three little dots after 'Completing Installation' that continue animating. I can also click the red X at the top-right but it says installation cannot be canceled at that point, which makes sense.I first let it sit on 'Completing Installation' for two hours. Then I turned my computer off, unplugged everything except for my mouse and keyboard, formatted the drive to get rid of any bad data, and tried again. After three hours of 'Completing Installation', I removed my video card, all but one stick of RAM, and entered the BIOS to see if there were any options relating to my hard drive. The only options I found were the options to choose a hard drive - I only have the one - and a couple of Plug and Play options. I restarted setup again, formatted again, and started the process over. Then I went to bed.

This morning, seven hours later, it was still sitting at 'Completing Installation'. I tried taking the install disc out to see if the install would stop or throw up an error, but it didn't make a peep. I took the install disc to my other computer to copy the data to a folder on the desktop, to see if there was an error. Everything copied fine. Plus, when I burned the DVD, I burned it at the lowest possible speed and had the program verify it. Everything came up fine. One thing I'll mention - when I start setup, I'm given an option to install a driver. I decided to choose that option just to see if it might provide any clarity. It then showed me the contents of my hard drive. Program Files was in there, My Documents was in there. So setup is doing something, it's just not finishing for some reason.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Install Fails At Completing Installation?

Feb 9, 2010

So I have searched around and none of the solutions worked, but let me get to the basics:

DFI LanPark DK 790 FX Motherboard
3.2 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 bit processor
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS Video card with 720 MB Ram

Hard drives:

Western Digital Raptor @ 70 GB (going to be used as the OS drive)
Western Digital Caviar @ 80 GB

Maxtor 120 GB IDE drive (the other 2 are both SATA drives)

Sony DVD R/RW Drive
using onboard audio

Okay so I am running a fresh, clean install (the only "information" is on the IDE drive, and that's my backup for iTunes and Steam) using the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD. The DVD kept hanging @ "completing installation", so I took it to my laptop, and using the instructions on here, made a bootable flash drive.I just tried completing installation from the bootable flash, and it still hangs at that step. When it hangs, it's in a locked up state.. I can't even press Shift + F10 (nothing happens). Also, the CD correctly makes the "System Allocated" section on the drive. Also, i removed all USB drives, and am running both a PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

Windows Upgrade (REPAIR) Install Using Universal Installation CD

Jun 2, 2012

So my 64bit fujitsu lifebook laptop has run into some crazy problems the last few days. Including freezing every several minutes for ages. BSOD a few times a day. Nothing along the taskbar opening. Task Manager making the whole screen turn black etc.I researched alot and tried many things, including chkdsk which just takes to long for it to be realistic (i judge it would take about 1 week to finish)That being said, i want to do a repair install of windows 7, but when i use my universal disc (which has 32bit and 64bit windows 7 on it) it returns the error after the compatibility check:

- You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.

- 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. is there a workaround for this? I know people can make a universal disc easily, so maybe there is a way to do this in reverse

Ctrl Alt Del Only Goes To Cancel Button

Oct 14, 2011

Windows 7 32bit new install of 2 weeks. No changes that I can think of prior to the login problem. Windows boots to Ctrl Alt Del and when that is entered a Cancel button appears on the screen. when the cancel button is pressed the Ctrl Alt Del is back. I have tried the follow to fix the login issue. Remote Registry connection to create a AutoLogon by adding (DefaultName/Password/Domain) etc. That registry hack worked in that the Ctrl Alt Del window no longer came up but it then went directly to the Cancel button. Next I tried doing a restore to an earlier date by booting from a Win7 DVD. Results were NO Change. Then I tried doing a boot repair booting from the Win7 DVD. (and as the problem isn't with the boot, it is with the logon there was NO Change)
