View 2 RepliesI left my computer over night on in sleep mode. I woke up in the morning and tryed waking it up by moving the mouse, pressing keys on the keyboard and checked my monitor, but when I hit input, it search for signal and didn't find one an when to sleep again. I think I already tryed everything. I also pressed the power button in hope it will wake up but no. I did an emergency shut down later on. After i rebooted it shut off after 3 seconds and then rebooted itself into sleep mode automaticly.

When I came back, I moved the mouse and press the 'esc' button and there was no response. I then decided to do a restart and it shows the windows logo then it shuts down on its own after. I've tried several restarts but it just stuck on this loop every time I do it. I also noticed that the windows logo is not on the center of the screen(it's a bit off to the left). Is this a graphics driver problem? It has been working properly since I installed windows 7 on my machine. I have an ati radeon 4650 HD graphics card.
So far, I've tried booting into safe mood and downloaded the latest catalyst but It failed to install. I also tried system restore from different restore points and failed. I've ran start up repair and it says it wont be able to repair it. (Start up repair cannot repair this computer automatically)
I use Windows 7 Pro x64 in my Car PC.Hybrid Sleep is enabled, because my CarPC-PSU only keeps up the 5V rail for 18 Hours. After that the power is shut down. When I wake the PC from standby (within the 18 hours), everything works fine. Windows responds within a few seconds. If the PC has been put to standby and the PSU shuts down the 5V rail, the startup from hybrid sleep/hibernate is extremely slow. It takes approx. 5 minutes before I can use Windows again. What's strange is: When I put the PC to sleep/hibernate manually and boot it up again, everything is MUCH faster. Normal hibernate boot I'd guess.Only when the PC initially was put to hybrid standby and power cutted off it boots that slow.I can replicate the same behaviour on my Desktop PC.
-Boot from Standby: Really Fast
-Boot from manual Hibernation: Normal
-Boot from Hybrid Standby atfter PowerOff: Extremely slow

View 20 Replies View RelatedMy netbook was working normally but I was running low on space so I decided to run a disk cleanup. I opted to compress the files as well. Then I put the netbook to sleep.
Trying to restart this morning, the "Toshiba" screen came up (with access to the boot menu) and immediately after a black screen with the following message appears:
YKNRE is compressed
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
When I follow the instructions, the same cycle repeats. This is a nebook without a CD drive. I am traveling in Iran and am stuck.
I am running Windows 7 Pro x64 and I am having an issue where my computer goes into sleep mode, fails to wake from sleep, strangely resumes its state once I do a cold restart, and then after restarting again, refuses to boot.Computer goes to sleep based on the time set in the Balance Power options scheme. Fine. Often, computer wakes up perfectly fine from moving the mouse or pressing a key. Fine. Very occasionally however, upon waking up the computer, the lights, keyboard lights, fans and everything else except for the display comes on. I am forced to do a cold shutdown by pressing the reset button. Upon booting up, Windows displays "Restarting Windows" rather than "Starting Windows" and resumes its state when it went to sleep. Strange but OK. Everything seems to work normally. The problems come in when I then do a shutdown or restart after it has resumed from the cold shutdown. The computer shuts down perfectly fine but during the next boot, freezes right during the animation of the windows logo and immediately restarts the computer and launches into the DOS-looking prompt asking whether I want to do a Startup Repair because the computer failed to boot.
I have tried Startup Repair from HD and from the Windows disc and neither have done anything. I am usually forced to just reformat everything and start anew. This problem recently started occurring after I installed an Intel X-25m 120GB ssd and put the Windows partition on it. I'm not sure if that's related to the problem. Also, all of my power options are set to the Windows default.
My hardware is:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 factory 2.4Ghz
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR2 4x1GB
HDD: Intel X25m SSD 120GB (Windows) + Seagate 400GB HDD (everything else)
Mobo: Intel DG965OT
Video: ATI HIS Radeon HD 5770
I fell asleep with my PC on and woke up with it stuck in sleep mode. I performed a hard shut down via holding down the power button for several seconds. Now the pc will not post and my monitor claims no signal. No beeps from the Mobo speaker. I've replaced my cmos battery so far.Mobo is an asus m3a79-t Deluxe and I've heard some issues of bios not supporting sleep modes?

Now it just goes to the user login screen.
Has always worked perefctly until today.
Weird. Any ideas?
I know there are a bunch of sleep problems out there but I couldn't fine one similar to this after doing a forum search. Running Windows 7 Ultimate. Sleep used to work ok but now when I choose sleep from the start menu, the screen blacks out but the computer doesn't actually go to sleep. The fans, activity lights, hdd lights are all still running. If I move the mouse the screen comes back. However, if I just wait for the sleep timer to kick in then the computer does go to sleep (all fans stop running and all lights go out). I'm not sure what caused this. I use my pc as an HTCP and now when I push the power button on the remote the pc does not go to sleep.

That's like longer than my entire boot-up time excluding POST.Event viewer doesnt show any performance delay, and I dont think my OS drive (OCZ vertex 2) has a cache so I have it disabled. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.

I tried to log into the del support site, well you can forget that. This message is being written on my main computer because trying to crank up your web site is impossible. My home page is msn.com. However, when I leave it on overnight (usually when it is downloading something big), when I wake up in the morning I am greeted with a black screen with the words:"Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"When this happens I simply press the power button a few seconds to turn it off, then turn it on again and it boots normally. (pressing a key only results in the message being repeated)What infuriates me is that it only ever happens when I leave it on overnight so I don't know when and how exactly it occurs but it almost always does. Like I said earler, it never does this when I am using it as it works fine otherwise. It just won't stay on overnight when I need it to.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI own an HP dv6tqe-7000 and I have a pretty annoying problem. At random times the laptop won't go to sleep when I close the lid. The HP logo light stays lit even if I leave it alone for a couple of minutes. If I open it up the screen is blank, and both the power and WiFi light are on. The mute volume LED is off even though I had left it on before. The only thing I can do is hold down the power button to reset it.
I have no idea what causes this. Sometimes the laptop takes a lot longer to sleep than usual as well, up to a minute. I don't think this was a problem when I first got it about 3 months ago. The problem has been apparent for about a month now.
I tried updating the drivers to both the dedicated and integrated GPU, but unfortunately it still showed the same result. I know I updated my BIOS awhile back, but I don't know if that's the problem. I also bought a Logitech USB mouse I bought 2 months ago where you are just supposed to leave in the USB receiver.
At times it will go to sleep within seconds. I wish it would do this all the time because since I'm on campus I always have to put my laptop back in my backpack.
