View 26 Replies View RelatedI just barely reinstalled my Windows 7 computer, and have transferred my files back to my computer from an external hard drive. I decided to sort and delete unused files, when eventually my mouse movement started to move very erratic. Moving to the left seems to cover less ground, while moving to the right seems to work normally. Up and down has the same effects as left movement, which is why moving to the right isn't always smooth or perfect. I am using a wired Razer Deathadder mouse (left handed), and have the correct drivers installed. I have restarted the computer but I still have the same symptoms.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I started my PC, and everything was fine until I tried to move my mouse pointer. I don't know what's wrong because everything else from the mouse works perfectly fine, right/left click, in browser back/next (I'm using a r.a.t. 5 mouse). I tried reinstalling its software, and also tried different mice. Still only clicks are recognized, no movement.

I have a new Toshiba with Windows 7....I noticed that when I move my mouse (laptop), that the cursor either turns into a 4 way arrow and any movement changes the size of everything or else there is a small "bar" for horizontal or verticle movement that shows up..I can barely move the mouse...extremely irritating...any way to disable this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, This issue has followed me through numerous windows 7 installs.
What happens is that I play certain games (so far only Borderlands and Mass Effect 2 set it off) for anywhere between an hour and two hours. Out of nowhere I start to get lag when I move my mouse. My sound crackles every time I move my mouse and playing the game becomes impossible. It is not an issue of overheating because I play many other games and monitor my temperatures and these games are nothing special in terms of heat. Also - I know it is my mouse causing the lag because I can look at complex things and strafe back and forth (obviously requiring things to be redrawn) and I receive ZERO LAG. But if I move my mouse in a tiny circle it causes massive lag.
If I exit the game once this has occurred it will continue to act this way until I restart my computer. If I open task manager and sort by processes it shows 30-40% utilization when moving my mouse but no processes are to blame. If I look at my cores in task manager my first core gets almost maxed every time I move my mouse. If I stop moving my mouse (or scrolling) it immediately drops back down to 0% and will shoot back up the second I move the mouse again.
I ran Process Explorer and it appears "DPCs" or Deferred Procedure Calls are to blame as they appear on the list and match the CPU usage EXACTLY. It is obviously a specific driver that is causing this overload and there are guides I've tried to follow online to dump the contents of my DPC to see which specific drivers are eating resources but I can't seem to get any of them to work with windows 7 x64. I would use DPC latency viewer and try disabling my USB because my mouse is USB to see if it fixes the issue but I would have no way of re-enabling it at that point.
and yes I've used DPC Latency viewer and it maxes out every time I move the mouse and claims a driver is responsible but this is not a program that can tell me WHICH driver.
I really need help to capture the contents of my DPC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer at my work has Multi-screen, I've got 8 Monitor on my computer and I use them all to my work --the Primary is my desktop and the other 7 is for informations to my clients at work.
Now here is my problem,
When I'm going the mouse to taskbar over the Thumbnails (I want to right click...and Close or Maximize-minimize) all the other Windows are getting "Disappear" --Minimize
And I don't want my other monitors to get Minimize!! I only want to close-minimize-maximize the selected Window and nothing else! I don't want my clients to see an empty screen
Is there any trick to change it?
There's a lag in windows when I hold and drag the mouse for selection rectangle, but only when I keep CTRL or ALT or SHIFT pressed along with the mouse button, there's a lag even with this simple rectangular marquee in windows, the movement gets frozen every 2-3 seconds. And when I hold and drag for rectangular marquee with mouse button only, there's no lag and it's smooth as it should be.
Same behavior in 3D softwares: lag when using mouse button + ctrl or alt or shift, and NO LAG when using mouse button only CTRL, SHIFT and ALT are the cause! But the problem now is how to fix that? I want to use the alt or shift or ctrl key along with the mouse in my 3D apps, it's so convenient and useful. I disabled tablet input service and it doesn't work.
I really like aspects of the new taskbar, especially pinning program icons to it. I always would open my main program's in the same order so they would be in the same place on taskbar, but if I had to close one and reopen... oh well. so 7 fixed that problem,If I have multiple windows open in same program (e.g. firefox), I lose the ability to minimize ALL windows controlled by that programs icon. When right clicking on icon, there should be a MINIMIZE ALL choice in addition to the CLOSE ALL. Seems like a no brainer to me.
View 9 Replies View RelatedLately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rebooted my machine the other night and when it came back on, my Logitech EX 100 mouse and keyboard were non-functional.
They (the keyboard, at least) work in bios, when the adapter is plugged into my laptop, both devices work flawlessly, just on my main machine, it's a no-go. This is maddening.
I downloaded the newest Setpoint version from Logitech to no avail, I've disabled and uninstalled all of these usb devices in my device manager, and tried the adapter in every usb port (there are 12) on my motherboard. All other usb devices work fine.
I've just gotten done backing up all the data I want backed up, uninstalled iTunes and all of it's components, ran Windows 7 advisor and am ready to proceed with the custom install but I just wanted to make sure that I would be ok using my existing wireless mouse and keyboard during the install. I have a Logitech S510 keyboard and a Logitech LX8 mouse....would I be alright to begin the installation process with these or should I connect hardwired versions instead

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion Desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate (AMD processor). Started working this morning and my Logitech USB wireless mouse didn't work. Tried it in another computer and it worked fine. Got a message when I plugged in the dongle that said "one of the USB devices attached to this computer malfunctioned and the computer does not recognize it." I talked to both HP and Logitech. I updated the Logitech drivers (Setpoint 6.20), but that didn't help. HP wants me to do a system restore, which I am loathe to do (the last time it totally trashed my computer).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do not understand this. I've been buying and returning 'defective' wireless devices for my media center for the last few months. I bought a logitech wireless mouse (v220) a few days ago and it works on my E6410, E6510, Thinkpad T500, NC6230, and custom amd gaming machine. However, on the machine it is intended for use on, it does not work. It seems to work fine (as far as I can tell) in windows. In media center, bridge, firefox, ect... it just doesn't work. You move the mouse, nothing happens, or it moves very spotty.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just recently purchased a generic wireless mouse from eBay. more specifically, this one: 2.4GHz USB Receiver Wireless Optical Mouse F PC Laptop | eBay it doesn't work. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and it started installing the drivers, first it was installing "HID Wireless Mouse", then it switched to "USB Input Device" but failed after 3 seconds. now it's listed in Device Manager as "USB Input Device" with yellow sign that indicates it doesn't work. I tested it in 2 other Windows 7 32bit computers and it works just fine! installing drivers and everything. moreover - I testes my bro's logitech wireless mouse on my 64bit Windows 7 computer and it works fine. I think Windows fails on recognizing it. I mean the drivers are there.. the Logitech Mouse works but mine doesn't.. how do I make it work?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI usually plug the receiver into a certain USB port on my laptop (HP HDX-18t, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) and the mouse works fine. After a while, from an hour to several hours, the mouse pointer will become jumpy and then become completely unresponsive. When that happens, the power light on the receiver is no longer lit. Then I have to disconnect the receiver and plug it into another USB slot. The mouse will begin to work again, but then the same failure occurs. Then I repeat this over and over, "chasing" the ports until I finally plug the receiver into the first USB port again.
I should also mention that when the failure occurs the first time, if I disconnect the receiver and then plug it back into the same slot, I get a "device not recognized" notification in the system tray. This error never occurs with other ports, only the first. Also, I can immediately connect some other USB device to the port(s) the the receiver failed on and they'll work fine.

I'm running Windows 7 ver 6.1 build 7600. The previews work and it works when the mouse is unplugged-- any way to fix this problem?
I'm used to periodic lapses when Windows forgets that I have a Bluetooth mouse & keyboard but today's behaviour was really weird.
Fortunately I keep a wired mouse and keyboard strategically hidden just in case.
I just booted into Windows 7 and noticed on the log-on screen that the mouse was behaving erratically - would judder around the screen rather than glide.
Anyway I uninstalled it once I'd booted up and went to reinstall it. It worked but Windows asked for a restart. This had never ever happened before. It even asked for the WEI to be refreshed! I've checked and I can't see anything different driver-wise. I've gone through the motions of uninstalling/reinstalling mouse and keyboard dozens of times but never had this happen.
Comments anyone?
