Everytime I open my computer, it is always installing devices. I usually have problem in installing my sound(sometimes my computer detects it as realtek sometimes its high definition audio device) and LAN(realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC #366). Usually repairing my sound device works. (about 70%) How can I solve it permanently? My computer says my LAN is not working but I can still access the internet. What seems to be the problem?

I have a weird issue with my wireless adapters. I will put my computer to sleep and then resume my work a few hours later, when the computer wakes up both wireless adapters are disabled and I have to go into adapter settings to re-enable them. My adapters are a netgear wna1100 usb adapter and an azio pci card adapter.

So, a long time ago i had wireless, but after a while it stopped working that well so i switched to a Ethernet cable. I couldn't connect to it because it wouldn't show up so i disabled the wireless and then it connected. Now back to reality..We now have fibre-optic so it's a lot faster so i tried to get my wireless signal back. Can't find it in the network and sharing centre, checked device manager as well. Have tried taking the Ethernet out to see if it would pop up but it hasn't.

Every time I start my computer my internal card reader has to be disabled and then enabled in device manager before it will work properly. I put a SD card in it and auto open doesn't work. I check My Computer and it shows that it's there but when I double click it to open I get a message saying to please insert the SD card. Once I go to device manager and disable and enable it orks fine. I tried different cards but it makes no difference. I installed a different card reader but the new one does the same thing.I tried doing a repair install but it completes and says the upgrade was not successful?I am running Windows & Pro 64-bit. This is a Renesas controller and I am using the latest driver 2.1.36.0 with firmware 4015.

At my wit's end on this one. After a system crash a couple of days ago I found that my audio and wireless were disabled. Tried to restart the services but got error 1053 with wireless and error 1068 with windows audio. Have done the following: Checked for any virus malware: Macafee AV, Malwarebytes, Spysweeper and Sptbot. Nothing found.Tried starting in services on many occasions. Same issue.Installed up to date drivers. Rolled back drivers to original versions. Same problem.Ran troubleshooter in windows 7. Received notices that the services were stopped but could not be fixed.Ran windows fixes from Microsoft site with the same result as W7 troubleshooter.Downloaded copies of dll files and replaced them in win/system 32. Same problem.Ran sfc /scannow found no issues. I have my ASUS backup disk(s) so I can install the OS again but I don't want to lose the software I have already installed.

I recently reinstalled windows and replaced my old NVIDEA Geforce 9600GT which finally died with a new Geforce GTX 460. However, when I installed the drivers, it completely disabled my motherboard's onboard Realtek Azalia soundcard, and for the last few days I've had no sound at all. Nothing I've done has fixed the problem, and every time I try to uninstall the drivers for everything relating to my video card, the HDMI audio devices reinstall themselves from no discernible source every single time I boot up like a virus.I'm about ready to take this pathetic video card back to the shop and demand a refund and get a video card that is not going to screw with my computer like this.

After reinstalling Windows 7, I've never been able to play a single video game on my computer (really defeating the purpose of an Alienware). When I try to run Unreal Tournament 2004, the error message reads CRITICAL ERROR: Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling it in Display tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and latest drivers. Woohoo. So I went to dxdiag, and it says that DirectDraw Acce;, Direct3D Accel, and AGP Texture Accel are all disabled. I went to see what the graphics card is, because I forget...and Windows can't even tell me what card it is. I have no clue. Also, I can't even use the ethernet port on the computer to hard wire a internet connection; I have to use my wireless usb plug in from Netgear.

recently I used a software AVG PC Tuneup and it has never been a problem for me until a couple of days ago when I decided to install it on my DELL. Now, I went to system advisory and did a system scan on recommended settings, I pressed 'fix selected' and my Wifi was disabled, I tried everything. I can't get my wifi to work without plugging in my modem directly ot my pc. I noticed my wifi radio was disabled, so I pressed the F2 button but nothing worked. I am trying to re enable my wifi radio / wireless radio connection button but it won't work.
My program intel my wifi utility tells me my wifi is disabled but I can't enable it.

So i've been trying to figure out why the new computer I've built is freezing up randomly during operation. So far I've: Flashed an updated bios version, Run Memtest86+, and have been systematically uninstalling hardware. I think i've found the though, and it's the Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapter (WMP54G).
Once i removed this piece of hardware, the issue vanished. I looked online for some information and i found that the Ralink chipset Linksys uses has driver issues with 64bit windows 7 at 4gb+ ram.
So, what i basically want to know is, is there a good pci wireless adapter for 64bit windows that won't suck?
And no, i can't use an Ethernet cable, I split the Internet with my neighbors (apartment) and i'm the one w/o the router.

I recently installed Windows 7, and most seemed to be fine. However, I just moved to college for the semester and I usually use wireless at school. I have a wireless card/adapter and it used to work fine on XP, but Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognize it at all. I checked device manager and the only network adapter is 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller'. Under 'Other devices' is 'Network Controller' with a little '!' next to it. This may be the wireless card, but I don't know how to make it work.I really need to get this wireless working, otherwise I could be screwed. I never removed the card so it should be in there. Not sure why windows 7 is not recognizing it (in fact, I used to get annoyed when the 'Wireless network detected' bubble popped up on XP. Now I want nothing more!)

Okay, so I'm using Windows 7 64-Bit. It's flawless, and a bit of a show off, seeming as it already had all of the necessary drivers for all my PC components pre-installed. :P
One issue is the network card. I had a Netgear WPN311 card before, which I couldn't find the right drivers for, so I decided to put my old Belkin F5D7000 into the PCI port.
So.. basically.. I don't have any way of getting online, because I am literally unable to find drivers that suit Windows 7 64-Bit, and at the same time work on this Belkin card.
So this is the one thing I'm confused with.. The PC seems to pick it up as a 'Multimedia' device under device manager. I am completely at a loss what to do with it, and it's becoming very frustrating. If anyone can help me out, tell me what drivers to use for this or the Netgear one if that so happens to be necessary, I would be very, very grateful.

I have a new system running win7 64-bit, and so far I have not been able to get it to connect to the Internet using a PCI wireless card or usb adapter.
So in the interim, I'm trying to get it to connect via an access point functioning as a bridge. I've confirmed that the bridge works because it successfully connects my laptop (running windows XP) to the net.
However, when I plug in the same connection to my win7 system, it doesn't work. I've gone one step back and tested the Ethernet connection directly from the router, and that works. So I've confirmed that the Ethernet port is working properly.
It's just that when I plug in the bridge connection to the Ethernet port, it doesn't work.
Anybody got any ideas? How come my bridge works with my laptop, but not my new PC?

I have seen this in a couple of forums, but could not find an adequate solution. I am having an issue connecting to wireless networks via the Atheros AR5007EG. I have tried going to atheros.cz among other sites looking for a working driver, but Windows 7 always says the driver is up to date. Strangely, I tooled around a few weeks ago and it was working, but it stopped. I went back and made sure I didn't install anything that day and nothing was installed.

My brother has a laptop - wireless network card just stopped . I am going to:
1. Uninstall network card and reboot to see if the system picks it back up.
2. Update the drivers.
3. Check for Malware.
If they don't work then I'll do a restore point. If all the above doesn't work what would you suggest before getting a new network card - presuming it can be replaced and not an on board type ?? System recovery ?

I'm having this odd problem where Windows 7 autodetects my wireless network card just fine (Asus WL-160N). There are no proper Windows 7 drivers as its an old card, it seems to use the same one as I got from the asus website.
However, when I try to run ANYTHING that needs a net connection, like my antivirus install program, it tells me that it cannot detect a network card. As a matter of fact, there is no wireless networking tab under networking, and there is not even wireless zero service running. On top of that, it does not even try to detect my router (Asus RT-NI6), again, because it thinks there is no card.
I don't know much about Windows 7, having only had it a couple weeks. With no wireless its worse than useless to me.
I have installed the software that came with the card, and it does nothing. Even tried running it in XP and Vista mode (as admin user). I have only the basic install from the dvd, with no wired connection currently available. The only internet i have is on my XP system, that is too unstable (thats why I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7). Obviously I'm missing something, but no clue.
Edit: the card and the router work fine in XP, no problems. Wireless zero in XP is an issue, so I have to use the control center program from asus.

I have an IBM Thinkpad T40 with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have all the updates from both Windows Update and Lenovo. Everything is working great except that I can't seem to get my wireless PC card to work still. It's a Trendnet TEW-421PC card. Windows found the driver for the card but it still doesn't work. I even downloaded the driver from Trendnet's website and installed it and it doesn't work. The "Activity" light blinks continuously and Windows detects the card but I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet. I had Windows troubleshoot it and it says there is a problem but none of the solutions seem to help. I can connect to the internet with an ethernet cable but sometimes I like to connect wirelessly.

Have been trying to install a high gain USB wireless long range wireless network adapter to my laptop. Initially tried a Alfa AWUS036h, software installed ok, but it never detected any networks and in Network Connections it was showing disabled. Any attempt to enable started well, showed enabling but the icon stayed at disabled. I presumed it was a problem with the device so returned it on Amazon and purchased a RT73 USB Wireless LAN Card but it has the same issue. Tried the device on a XP laptop and installed and operated brilliantly. Both devices stated on the packaging that they were Windows 7 compatible. Have checked that I have the latest driver from the manufacturer.

Okay so i have an older Wireless PCI Card from like 5 years ago, I didnt have an antenna for it so i didnt use it, I recently came across the antenna and put the card in my PC, The "Ethernet Controller" says it doesnt have the drivers, and windows wont find it on its own. So i have gone to the website and downloaded the driver and software, it all tells me there are several missing .dll files.
So i downloaded them virus scanned them etc. and still no progress on getting the card installed. I dont know where the CD for it is and i doubt the CD would even work for windows 7. Can anyone help me out with this prob? Its a Wireless-B PCI Adapter 2.4GHz Model No. BB720C808230
