I have seen this in a couple of forums, but could not find an adequate solution. I am having an issue connecting to wireless networks via the Atheros AR5007EG. I have tried going to atheros.cz among other sites looking for a working driver, but Windows 7 always says the driver is up to date. Strangely, I tooled around a few weeks ago and it was working, but it stopped. I went back and made sure I didn't install anything that day and nothing was installed.
I'm experiencing an issue with build 7000 and the wireless card. It won't connect to different wireless networks automatically after putting the machine into standby. example, use the corporate network at the office, close the lid, bring the laptop home open the lid (resume from standby) it attempts to reconnect to the corporate wireless and never recovers. i get the same experience when going into standby at the office and returning to the office.
Oh, driver is from Microsoft version 1.0.0.7 date: 11/7/08, manufacture of card indicates: Atheros Communications Inc.
I'm on Windows 7 but it keeps automatically installing drivers from 2008 that are for Vista. I think this is one of the reasons I'm getting BSOD problems..And now it's saying they weren't installed correctly.
I've been having intermittent disconnection issues with my wireless card, DWA-552. After having thoroughly researched on the subject, the conclusion drawn by many people is that dlink's drivers are inappropriate for the card. It was suggested to install the Atheros driver instead, which i proceeded to do. Much to my confusion, when i downloaded the AR5008 10.0.0.75 driver, i found no .exe file to easily setup the driver.

I recently purchased a refurbed Acer Aspire 5830TG. According to the hardware discovery tools I've run, it has the Atheros AR9287 WLAN controller. The name on the product information is Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n I just ran a Belarc profile and the WLAN hardware is not showing up in their scan at all. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and everything was working just fine. I had an issue earlier today and attempted a system restore which for some reason caused Windows to not load. I tried several repairs and eventually just reinstalled windows. Since reinstalling the WLAN controller doesn't seem to exist, I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the correct driver, provided by the Acer website, but its not working. I'm not well versed in hardware issues so I'm out of my league at this point trying to fix it.
I've just built a new machine running Windows 7 pro SP1 64bit, the mother board is an ASrock N68-S with an Athlon 64X2 dual core 5200+ 2.71 Ghz with 2 gig.I seem to be having problems with the TP-Link TL-WN350GD, I've installed the software but the the troubleshooter is showing "the local area connection" is not working properley and there may be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter, both items show detected, but the icon on the bottom of the screen has a red cross through it.
I have been working on an Emachines E627 with Win7 and have noticed my wireless speeds around around 10x slower than on dell laptop running XP. I have verified the slower speed using speedtest.net, also I have updated the driver for Atheros AR5B95 Wireless Network Adapter and the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter (which I have no idea what this one does as I disabled it and nothing changed???) and the Atheros ethernet controller just for fun.
I have also port forwarded the win7 and xp machine on my router but still receive slow speed on the win 7 machine. I am beginning to think that maybe the Atheros wireless adapter sucks? Also another thing the adaptor connection speed states 150 mbps where I am used to seeing the standard 54 mpbs. I am at a loss to what else I can change to speed the win 7 machine up to the speeds I get on my xp machine.....or does the atheros adapter just plain suck? I have turned off any power consumption savers for the adapter as well.
I'm having problems with my wireless networkcard. Sometimes i can connect to the Internet with it but at other times, I am simply unable to connect. Windows detects that there is a problem between my computer, the router, and the Internet. There are five other devices in my house that are able to connect flawlessly. I am currently only able to connect using a wi-fi adapter but this soultuion is awkward as i have only two available USB ports.
I have a Dynex Wireless 11G Desktop Card Model: Dx-WGDTC and I cannot seem to find the right drivers to get this card to work. Windows find's the card but will not automatically install it with a generic driver. I am running 64bit home premium.
yesterday my laptop had some problems i have windows 7 starter, some keyboard keys don't work (h,p,q,esc,backspace et.) also the Bluetooth didn't appear on window tray, so i thought some virus are in my laptop, so i decided to format and upgade to windows 7 ultimate. i installed Windows 7 ultimate with no problem but the keyboard keys still not working, wireless card is gone also bluetooth. i installed drivers but still no luck, on device manager no wireless card is detected but i have Atheros wirelss card.
My computer is unable access my router. The power went out for a second and clearly that did something. I have an HP p7-1174 desk top, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. The processor is an AMD A8-3800.
There are now several devices in the manager with yellow exclamation points, all relegated to the LAN. I get a Code 31, unable to load drivers message. I ran the sfc scan and there were no integrity violations. I tried updating drivers without any luck. My router is working fine because my laptop and iPad both work online.
The problem seems to be that Windows can't load the drivers for my 802.11n wireless LAN card. I tried updating drivers but it said the driver was up to date. I tried changing manually but the only two listed were the same and when I clicked one, it said Windows was unable to load.
I have a "SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash" 4GB card and an internal card reader (HP desktop). When I insert the card into the reader, the green light above the slot turns on as if it recognizes the device, but it doesn't show up. Device Manager says that the driver is installed and working properly, and I have uninstalled it,reinstalled it, and restarted my computer. A system restore isn't really an option because it isn't my computer.
I have had this problem not being able to turn on the wireless radio for months. I have to get it turned on now. When I press <fn> F5 I can see the wireless radio is off. I see the power on button. When I select the power on button nothing happens. I expect the wireless radio to power on.I have tried fixing the winsock. I have Dell Latitude E6410 with PC Card Bus, StLab USB 3.0 PCIe card connected with StLab PC CardBus/PCIe adapter. OS is Windows 7. USB 3.0 card do not want to work (system do not find it - no USB 3.0 controller). Other PC Ie cards (modem ...) work with this adapter and USB 3.0 card works in other notebooks with PC Ie bus (without adapter). Is it possible that the card and adapter (from the same producer) are not compatible?
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.My wireless connection has been working on and off for a while, but now it just refuses to work.The other computers in the wireless network are working just fine, so it must be definitely something in my laptop.I can detect the network just fine, with good signal.It says:

Also, in the activity there are Bytes sent and received, but I cannot connect to any webpage either with Chrome of Firefox I'm using McAfee Security Center. I tried turning off the firewall, but it still doesn't work.
So i've been trying to figure out why the new computer I've built is freezing up randomly during operation. So far I've: Flashed an updated bios version, Run Memtest86+, and have been systematically uninstalling hardware. I think i've found the though, and it's the Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapter (WMP54G).
Once i removed this piece of hardware, the issue vanished. I looked online for some information and i found that the Ralink chipset Linksys uses has driver issues with 64bit windows 7 at 4gb+ ram.
So, what i basically want to know is, is there a good pci wireless adapter for 64bit windows that won't suck?
And no, i can't use an Ethernet cable, I split the Internet with my neighbors (apartment) and i'm the one w/o the router.

I have an Asus P5Q SE motherboard and recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and since doing so I have been having a lot of Internet connectivity problems.
I keep randomly losing connection to the Internet, I looked into it and it was driver related, so I researched the issue in great detail and found others had experienced it yet no one had a solution, I looked for the most appropriate Ethernet drivers on the Internet on another computer of mine and found that people had experienced the most success with the Windows Vista Atheros Ethernet drivers which were for my motherboard (Asus P5Q SE) .
so I downloaded the Vista drivers and installed them and I was surprised to see that it worked I had Internet access again my problem was solved and I thought nothing more of it, but when I came to use my pc again I had no Internet access right from start-up, this annoyed me quite a bit. I then went into the control panel and uninstalled the Vista Atheros drivers to find upon doing so Windows 7 had found the appropriate drivers and automatically installed them, I had the Internet back again I figured it had solved itself,
however again when I came to use my computer no Internet from start-up, I still had the Vista drivers on my desktop so i simply re-installed them and again my Internet started to work, but I must constantly install and uninstall these drivers every time I log onto my Windows 7 computer this means they must stay on my desktop at all times.
Im taking my computer to a LAN event soon and i really need to sort this issue I hope you can shed some light on this as i cant find stable drivers anywhere .
I have a small problem with my W7 drivers for the Atheros L1 network card (ASUS P5KLP motherboard).
After I woke up my internet connection wouldn't start anymore and I troubleshooted with the Windows Troubleshoot program, and it pretty much ended saying that the driver was broken, however the only way to fix it was with a system restore or a driver rollback (which I can't do because Windows doesn't allow me to)
Anyways, I did a system restore, it did nothing, so I proceeded to get the W7 drivers for the network card, but on install it said that it couldn't find any Atheros L1 network card currently on my computer, therefore could not install, which resulted in 1 hour of looking around for an answer both on other forums and checking the system, but didn't really find anything.
I recently installed Windows 7, and most seemed to be fine. However, I just moved to college for the semester and I usually use wireless at school. I have a wireless card/adapter and it used to work fine on XP, but Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognize it at all. I checked device manager and the only network adapter is 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller'. Under 'Other devices' is 'Network Controller' with a little '!' next to it. This may be the wireless card, but I don't know how to make it work.I really need to get this wireless working, otherwise I could be screwed. I never removed the card so it should be in there. Not sure why windows 7 is not recognizing it (in fact, I used to get annoyed when the 'Wireless network detected' bubble popped up on XP. Now I want nothing more!)
I have an ASUS PCE-N13 Wireless PCI-Express Adapter. This is my second wireless network card and I do not believe they were both defective. My device manager does not detect that card and I installed the driver on the CD that came with the network card. Only a wired connection with an X mark shows on my task bar.

Okay, so I'm using Windows 7 64-Bit. It's flawless, and a bit of a show off, seeming as it already had all of the necessary drivers for all my PC components pre-installed. :P
One issue is the network card. I had a Netgear WPN311 card before, which I couldn't find the right drivers for, so I decided to put my old Belkin F5D7000 into the PCI port.
So.. basically.. I don't have any way of getting online, because I am literally unable to find drivers that suit Windows 7 64-Bit, and at the same time work on this Belkin card.
So this is the one thing I'm confused with.. The PC seems to pick it up as a 'Multimedia' device under device manager. I am completely at a loss what to do with it, and it's becoming very frustrating. If anyone can help me out, tell me what drivers to use for this or the Netgear one if that so happens to be necessary, I would be very, very grateful.
I have a new system running win7 64-bit, and so far I have not been able to get it to connect to the Internet using a PCI wireless card or usb adapter.
So in the interim, I'm trying to get it to connect via an access point functioning as a bridge. I've confirmed that the bridge works because it successfully connects my laptop (running windows XP) to the net.
However, when I plug in the same connection to my win7 system, it doesn't work. I've gone one step back and tested the Ethernet connection directly from the router, and that works. So I've confirmed that the Ethernet port is working properly.
It's just that when I plug in the bridge connection to the Ethernet port, it doesn't work.
Anybody got any ideas? How come my bridge works with my laptop, but not my new PC?
I'm trying to upgrade Windows 7 to Win8. The compatibility checker flagged the Atheros BT Suite as follows: "Uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 8."I removed it using the program uninstaller. It appeared to finish cleanly and prompted to reboot. Then, Win8 says it's still installed and has to be removed manually.
I'm using the Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter and the specs of this adapter say that I should get speeds up to 54 Mbps. I'm only getting to 16 Mbps even though the speed in the connection status says 54. I have used it with 2 different wifi routers (Linksys and Asus),with 2 different IPS and with both the actuall speed will not go over 16 Mbps. If i connect using a cable to those routers I get speeds way over 54 Mbps.
I have the latest Windows 7 x64 drivers from windows update. Does anyone have any ideea if there is anything wrong with my card or this is there a way to speed it up ?
