i bought a new computer, windows 7 os. it was sold with intel integrated video and a better amd videocard. onboot up the machine told me the amd was not activated. use the device manager or update the drivers. i updated the drivers and it reported they were current. HERE is where the noob made the problem worse. i disbled the integrated video in the device manager and now the monitor only displays a black screen.

I installed all drivers, but when i enter lets say solitaire it says that either hardware acceleration is disabled either my video card doesn't support it. I checked if h.acceleration was turned on and it was. My graphics card apears to be : Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor. In windows xp I had 384mb of video ram when I was using 1gb system ram,now I 've upgraded to 2gb system ram and installed Windows 7 Ultimate.But,I ve only 64mb video ram,that means I can't play any decent game.Can I increase video ram?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith Windows XP SP3 I was able to transmit audio which was digital and sometimes multi-channel to my Denon reciever through the HDMI output on my motherboard; I was also able to simultaneoulsy display my computer through that same HDMI connection through my Denon reciever and on to my my Toshibe LCD TV.But when I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit the HDMI audio was very limited (only 16 bit 2-channel @ 48,000 Hz) and can only select it when the reciever is on (which makes sense, but it's anoying to have to go into sound properties and switch to HDMI if I started the computer before the reciever, I hate technology trying to pretend it knows what I want it to do, it should just be able to do what it's told.) Then, when I turn on the TV this message comes up (which I would see when I was using XP but it didn't change anything)An HDMI-to-DVI display connection has been detected. In order to hear audio on your HDMI based TV or display, you will need to have a seperate audio conecction from you computer sound outputs to your TV or audio equipment.However I'm not using the DVI at all I just want to use the HDMI into HDMI because that's the way it's supposed to work because HDMI is supposed to handle both and I shouldn't need to use another cord when I'm already using one that does both.And so then my sound no longer works but my computer shows on my TV.Whoopdee doo! why can't I have both. HDMI is supposed to support both and when computer/motherboard/OS manufacturers put these technologies on computers you'd think they should commit to applying them flawlessly the way they were intended to be used.I understand this may be a driver issue and I've tried many combinations of the newest & the just HDMI Realtek Driver as well as the Gigabyte mother board drivers and the appropriate ATI/Catalyst driver/downloads.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS P7P55D motherboard that does not show my onboard LAN in device manager. I suspect its dead. I then proceeded to install a PCI type network adapter card in one of the available slots and it was recognized by the OS with drivers installed. I connect the cable which I tested to be working fine on my laptop and it shows the led's working on the card but I still have no network capability. Is it possible to have both the onboard LAN and external NIC not work because of a chip issue, etc.? This is the first I have ever seen both not work. If I need a new board...fine...but I just don't want to waste my money if it can be fixed. BTW, I did check my BIOS and everything is enabled properly.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI purchased motherboard with the manufacturer number of MB.G0409.005 (MB.G0409.005 GATEWAY MOTHERBOARD DESKTOP BOARD SOCKET AM2) on 2/3/12. I had put it into my system and then proceeded to install upgrades from the Gateway website. I saw there was a BIOS update (file: 924G1P11.ROM) available so I tried to update my BIOS. Well, after updating my BIOS with the .ROM file that I had gotten from their website [URL], but after that, the on board ATI graphics adapter is no longer working. I tried to contact Gateway with no luck and them telling me that they don't recommend updating the BIOS. I also tried to contact the place where I purchased the motherboard from and they said that they didn't have the original .ROM. The motherboard is also not listed on the Foxconn website either. I am running Windows 7 x64 Build 7601 and I have also tried using a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS live USB and that did not work as well. As far as I can tell, the BIOS will not even recognize it. I am now currently using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphics card that is plugged into the 16x PCI-E slot. I have found modified .ROM files that someone had done for this motherboard, but I don't want to risk it. And every forum and post I've come across has dead links to ones that someone has made a copy of the .ROM file and uploaded from their motherboard.
My system is a Gateway DX4300-15e with 6 gb's of DDR2 RAM (originally 8 gb's of RAM, but a 2 gb stick blew out from a power surge, hence why I had to get a new motherboard) with a AMD Phenom II x4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz Socket AM3 processor.
i'm using the onboard sound card for my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 mobo.The sound chipset is Realtek ALC889. I've updated the latest drivers, but there is crackling/static noise when I play music.Currently I mainly use a 2.1 speaker system. But Ive tried testing it with headphones the static/crackling noises persists.It is not constant, but it shows up periodically. Furthermore, when there is no music/sound playing the noise is not there. This leads me to believe its a hardware/driver issue and not so much a speaker/interference issue.

When I try to run Unreal Tournament 2004, the error message reads CRITICAL ERROR: Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling it in Display tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and latest drivers. Woohoo. So I went to dxdiag, and it says that DirectDraw Acce;, Direct3D Accel, and AGP Texture Accel are all disabled. I went to see what the graphics card is, because I forget...and Windows can't even tell me what card it is. I have no clue. Also, I can't even use the ethernet port on the computer to hard wire a internet connection; I have to use my wireless usb plug in from Netgear.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I start my computer my internal card reader has to be disabled and then enabled in device manager before it will work properly. I put a SD card in it and auto open doesn't work. I check My Computer and it shows that it's there but when I double click it to open I get a message saying to please insert the SD card. Once I go to device manager and disable and enable it orks fine. I tried different cards but it makes no difference. I installed a different card reader but the new one does the same thing.I tried doing a repair install but it completes and says the upgrade was not successful?I am running Windows & Pro 64-bit. This is a Renesas controller and I am using the latest driver 2.1.36.0 with firmware 4015.

However, when I installed the drivers, it completely disabled my motherboard's onboard Realtek Azalia soundcard, and for the last few days I've had no sound at all. Nothing I've done has fixed the problem, and every time I try to uninstall the drivers for everything relating to my video card, the HDMI audio devices reinstall themselves from no discernible source every single time I boot up like a virus.I'm about ready to take this pathetic video card back to the shop and demand a refund and get a video card that is not going to screw with my computer like this.

WHen I check the card's status, it shows as "disabled". I change it to "enabled" and it works jst fine until the next boot (warm or cold).

I fly MS FSX and I want to be able to chat to ATC with my headphones and then hear the engine noises coming out of my speakers and sub-woofer.
I have a sound-card and my motherboard has on-board sound. I can't find the bios setting to turn it on and I can't see any hint of it anywhere on the computer. Can someone help me get the on board sound going? My computer is homebuilt, I recently installed Windows 7 pro 64bit.
