Windows 7 Installer Freezing With A Blue Wallpaper-ish Screen
Nov 18, 2012
So here's the problem; I had built myself a new computer, installed win7 (full version), and it worked fine for about 40-50 days untill the HDD failed. So I headed out and got a Western Digital HDD, installed it, unplugged the old HDD, set it up to be the boot drive along with the CD drive. Everything was set up just like the old hard drive. It prompted me for the boot disk, so I popped the disk and got the "Loading Windows files..." screen, got passed the "windows is starting" screen with the orbs, and got to the blue windows set up screen, but with no text or menu. I tried waiting and ended up wasting away an hour and 10 minutes; tried reducing the ammount of RAM, turning off USB acess and messing with the boot drives with the same results. I eventually got impatient and while on the blue wallpaper screen, I opened the disk drive and as soon as the disk stopped spinning, the language set up screen popped up, so I filled those out and clicked next, selected install and I was greeted by a window that told me to insert the windows CD, I closed the disk drive with the disk still inside, it started scanning, and it suddenly froze. I could still move the mouse but got no response on anything I clicked on. The screen just stayed like that and it keeps doing the same thing everytime I try.
My new rig's specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 Black Series
RAM: 8GB
GPU: EVGA GTX 550 ti
Motherbord: ECS A780LM-M2
**new HDD: WD Caviar red 1TB
I recently was running Vista 64, and decided to reinstall my OS. After doing so I attempted to install my soundMAX drivers again (I use the onboard sound from my P6T Deluxe V2). During installation the computer crashed with a blue screen telling me "BAD_POOL_HEADER." I then tried again, with the same results.
I downloaded updated drivers and tried reinstalling/uninstalling but had no luck. I then deleted the partition and created a new one with windows 7 64. I immediately installed the chipset and then downloaded the updates soundMAX drivers. During installation I got THE EXACT SAME RESULTS. Why is this happening? Can anyone help?
Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.
I'm having a problem when my computer shuts down. It seems to just freeze on the "Shutting Down..." screen. After manually shutting down I get this as a popup when I log in again:
Code: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Computer is currently suffering from persistent freezing and bluescreens. It seems to happen almost randomly, and usually very soon after startup and loading of Windows. System restore has not helped.'fraid that's all the info I can give right now. Any recommendations? If anyone wants me to run hijackthis or dxdiag and post results I'd be more than happy to (assuming I can get that far before it freezes!). Safe mode does work, and the problem does not occur while in safe mode.
I have a problem my laptop wallpaper keep changing to blue ( no picture) and everytime i set a wallpaper it just reset to the blue wallpaper.this happen every 5 to 30 minutes or when i launch a program?
All of my stuff on Windows 7 shrunk ever since the update last night. Notice in the picture how my background doesn't fit the screen anymore and this java applet is much smaller than it used to be. What do I do?
I just recently installed windows 7 build 7100 64 bit on this computer and from time to time it'll freeze up or crash all together. Earlier this morning I even got the blue screen of death stating that there was an issue that then closed down.
I have it fully installed on this computer and was just trying this as a last resort before I go back to reinstalling vista on the machine.
Alright well this is a custom build computer. I am a gamer and i play a lot.I've been having continuous problems with my computer. It started only having Bsod wile in a specific server of a game but then got worse and worse. freezing and blue screening all the time. So i finally come to the conclusion that it was my motherboard and sent it back to ASUS to get a new. sadly I don't know if they just tried to repair it or if they fixed it. i got it back and found that it worked perfectly fine, after a wile (same as my first encounter) it started to freeze again... than blue screen. So far I've gotten 5 blue screens. I will attach the dump files in a .Rar file to this post.I did have an old D-link Wireless Card But Traded it out for a land line. The wireless cards Model is a AirPlus G SWL-G510 (wireless G Desktop Adapter) [This card was Discontinued]I've checked the:Ram (Fine)Graphics card(Fine)Hard drive(Fine)Both me, some family members, and a couple friends where extremely confused by this.I've been having this problems for months and months.
At the moment, my Windows 7 machine is freezing, up to a minute, then resuming normal operation for about 30 seconds, then the freezing continues. I'm not quite sure what is causing this. Also, when the computer is having a clean streak, without freezing, occasionally windows take a very long time to open.As for recent things I have done, I've just attempted to update Steam due to an error, but other than that, nothing else major has been done to my computer.
My computer has started freezing up with the cursor hanging constantly as the blue rotating circle as if something is loading. I can't access any programs or bring up the task manager but I can move the mouse. It started out happening infrequently when I would first start the computer. It would boot up normally but when I tried to start a program it would freeze and the only thing I could do was power off and restart.
Now it happens every time I start the computer unless in safe mode, which works with no issue. Usually within the first 5 minutes after booting up the computer freezes. I have been able to open some programs or games in full screen and play normally but I am unable to alt+tab out of the game. When I exit to the desktop, everything is locked up as if the freeze has already occurred in the background.
I am running Windows 7 64bit SP1 Intel Core i5-3570k CPU 8GB RAM GeForce GTX 670 GPU
but today I am stumped. In Windows XP, there was an option to change the logon screen background color:HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelColorsYou could change the string "Background" to any 3-digit RGB color code you wanted.(i.e., 0 0 0 = black, etc.)This color would show up on CTRL+ALT+DEL plus it would show up when you logged in remotely using Remote Desktop.Changing the logon screen background wallpaper is great when you're physically at the machine (and I've already done this), but you don't see it when you're connecting via Remote Desktop. Instead you're stuck with the OEM blue background color. The same key I mentioned above does in fact exist in Windows 7, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.
I got two monitors and marked dual monitor. When I put full screen sometimes that program goes to second monitor sometimes on main monitor. I got windows 7 64bit also. When I put full screen program on second monitor the wallpaper is getting low..I will post screenshots. First one is when I run a game for example and second, normal working

new to windows 7, wanted to get into it a while back but didnt make the first betas. Got my download of the RC the other day, and am proceeding to (or trying to at least) install now.
Is it normal for the setup to sit on the back-splash window for at least 5 minutes before popping up the language selection? I thought at first something went wrong, but eventually it moved on, but now is sitting on "setup is starting" and has been there for about 5 minutes as well.
I am installing on to a freshly wiped hard drive, and it is the only one in the system.
upgrade from xp to windows 7. Custom clean install. All went fine, Restarted windows,Login entered pword ok Screen goes to welcome and freezes. Unable to do anything atall. Also unable to start in safe mode.
one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!
windows freezes at the logo screen when it starts growing. just got on after 4 days of working on it. tried booting with disc but came to a black screen with a white under-score then message came up saying the BOOTMGR is invalid? Is there some sort of CMD command I could use to fix this? or another way of booting? I tried doing windows repair numerous times, went into bios and reset everything to default making sure everything in use that was needed was on, did memory check, tried reinstalling from win 7 32 bit disc but didnt have any drivers that i could find on the browse tab

i have booted off of my asus optical drive into the windows 7 pro into the install page. at the first stage where it says select language/timezone etc the screen has frozen and i now cant use my mouse or keyboard at all. the optical drive activity light also does not flash at this point. this is my first install i have done myself so i am struggling on a solution to this. i have also restarted and the same issue occurs. what would you guys recommend?
mobo - rampage iv extreme (bios is the latest as the only issue seems to be widows 7 install)
I have a problem with my laptop the screen became white and black lines and then restart after that i choose safe mode and when windows start this message was appeared
My Asus G73-JH laptop is currently freezing at the Windows Starting screen. I've read a lot of other forum posts that feature the same problem, BUT there is artifacting (bunch of colored dots) on the top of this screen that goes across the "Starting Windows" screen in a sort of horizontal line. Sometimes it just goes straight to the "Windows has failed to startup" screen. None of the System Recovery Options from the Startup Tool seem to help fix the problem, they've all been tried. Trying to boot in safe mode doesn't work either, as after it starts to load the files, the artifacting appears on the top again after about the third file and it freezes.
I have not made ANY major changes to anything on the system for over two months prior. Because of the artifacting seen, I imagine the video card is fried or malfunctioning. I called Asus and all they suggested to me so far was to reformat, because apparently they think its a driver issue, but I'd like to consider myself fairly tech savvy and believe that there has got to be a better solution that does not involve reformatting the hard drive, as I had a lot of important data that had been stored and not backed up the previous night before the unexpected freezing. The only things I seem to have access to is BIOS and the Startup Tool. I have a System Recovery Disc too, and am curious if there is a solution to this problem (I am not well versed in BIOS), and (assuming the video card is shot) if there would be a way I can access by data and possibly back it up before reformatting so I can persuade Asus support that my card is in fact shot so I can send it in for a replacement!

I was playing a video game earlier today and received a blue screen. When the computer restarted it got stuck on the windows splash screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of to try to fix the computer. I changed out graphic card, ram, power supply for different ones but no luck. Also tried booting to last known working setup. Even restored factory image and still no luck. The computer will not boot to any form of safe mode. I also have ran start up repair numerous times but comes up empty handed.
i bought this PC 2 years ago, i experienced a bluescreen now and then but at this time i didnt really care to look into it, as i didnt know much about PC`s Anyways, since about 2 months i bluescreen almost every second day.99% of the time i bluescreen while playing a game. (Such as TF2).I can tell when i am about to bluescreen, the sound starts to "crackle", with every third crackle i experience a little bit of a short lag (i would even say, its like a really short freezing but only just a milisecond). I ran Memtest and Checkdisk, Harddrive and Memory seem to be fine.My PC is free from malware.I started to read the minidumps out:They always show 2 or 3 different drivers causing the lag.One of them is ALWAYS ntkrnlpa.exe. The other drivers usually differ. Some driver that often shows up too is halmacpi.dll.
I might wanna add, i am using WLAN Netgear Stick WG111v3 Here are the results of my latest BC:
