Persistent Freezing Blue Screens And Freezing
Mar 14, 2012
Computer is currently suffering from persistent freezing and bluescreens. It seems to happen almost randomly, and usually very soon after startup and loading of Windows. System restore has not helped.'fraid that's all the info I can give right now. Any recommendations? If anyone wants me to run hijackthis or dxdiag and post results I'd be more than happy to (assuming I can get that far before it freezes!). Safe mode does work, and the problem does not occur while in safe mode.

I've finally decided to make my own thread about this rather than keep looking for solutions in other people's threads. My laptop has been freezing up very randomly since Christmas break, and I've run just about the gamut of ways to fix it. It do not believe it is an application problem because its happening in safe mode even.
What happens is I can be doing nearly anything and the screen will flicker a little bit, a little flashing, and as soon as this starts, everything is frozen, even caps lock is unresponsive. It can happen while surfing the web, while playing games, during start up, just after start up, you name it. I think we can eliminate it being the video card because with the driver uninstall, the problem still happens.
It also doesn't seem to be a problem with CPU because the usage seems to be low when this happens. EDIT: It's definitely not the CPU: I was just observing it while it happened and it was at a measly 4% usage while I was just sitting doing nothing.
Event viewer is of little help, I tried to uninstall several applications that had been running concurrently with the shut downs, to no avail.
I'll attach my dxdiag
The computer is an ASUS brand G60vx series notebook. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I think it will also help to mention that this computer is nearing its 2nd birthday, and I'm highly suspect of the age being a factor. I forgot to mention, also what happens is that the sound playing will become warped and degenerate into a buzzing crackling type noise (can't really describe it beyond that). This leads me to believe its the sound card, but I only have one thing showing up in my device manager the High Definition Audio Device.

I`m having serious problems with my windows 7 machine. It started yesterday when I was getting blank screens. TOday I turned on and its running very slow, freezing up and i noticed an svchost.exe process was using about 6gb of ram. I had to reboot about 5 times just to geta taskmanager up and then it would freeze up again. I tried a windows restore to about 4 days before incase it was some virus but it hasnt fixed the problem. Everything is ok in safe mode and i`ve tried running dr web virus checker aswell as installing norton antivirus and malwarebytes on an old windows xp installation on the same pc but theyre not finding anything.
Really dont fancy having to reinstall windows.

I just recently installed windows 7 build 7100 64 bit on this computer and from time to time it'll freeze up or crash all together. Earlier this morning I even got the blue screen of death stating that there was an issue that then closed down.
I have it fully installed on this computer and was just trying this as a last resort before I go back to reinstalling vista on the machine.

I recently built my first PC three days ago...
Specs:
i7 bloomfield 960 processor
4x4 vengeance ram
crosair hx850 PSU
evga x58 ftw3 mobo
hd 6870 radeon graphics xfx
When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both. (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.

I am a gamer and i play a lot.I've been having continuous problems with my computer. It started only having Bsod wile in a specific server of a game but then got worse and worse. freezing and blue screening all the time. So far I've gotten 5 blue screens. I will attach the dump files in a .Rar file to this post.I did have an old D-link Wireless Card But Traded it out for a land line. The wireless cards Model is a AirPlus G SWL-G510 (wireless G Desktop Adapter) [This card was Discontinued]I've checked the:Ram (Fine)Graphics card(Fine)Hard drive(Fine)Both me, some family members, and a couple friends where extremely confused by this.I've been having this problems for months and months.

At the moment, my Windows 7 machine is freezing, up to a minute, then resuming normal operation for about 30 seconds, then the freezing continues. I'm not quite sure what is causing this. Also, when the computer is having a clean streak, without freezing, occasionally windows take a very long time to open.As for recent things I have done, I've just attempted to update Steam due to an error, but other than that, nothing else major has been done to my computer.

So here's the problem; I had built myself a new computer, installed win7 (full version), and it worked fine for about 40-50 days untill the HDD failed. So I headed out and got a Western Digital HDD, installed it, unplugged the old HDD, set it up to be the boot drive along with the CD drive. Everything was set up just like the old hard drive. It prompted me for the boot disk, so I popped the disk and got the "Loading Windows files..." screen, got passed the "windows is starting" screen with the orbs, and got to the blue windows set up screen, but with no text or menu. I tried waiting and ended up wasting away an hour and 10 minutes; tried reducing the ammount of RAM, turning off USB acess and messing with the boot drives with the same results. I eventually got impatient and while on the blue wallpaper screen, I opened the disk drive and as soon as the disk stopped spinning, the language set up screen popped up, so I filled those out and clicked next, selected install and I was greeted by a window that told me to insert the windows CD, I closed the disk drive with the disk still inside, it started scanning, and it suddenly froze. I could still move the mouse but got no response on anything I clicked on. The screen just stayed like that and it keeps doing the same thing everytime I try.
My new rig's specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 Black Series
RAM: 8GB
GPU: EVGA GTX 550 ti
Motherbord: ECS A780LM-M2
**new HDD: WD Caviar red 1TB

My computer has started freezing up with the cursor hanging constantly as the blue rotating circle as if something is loading. I can't access any programs or bring up the task manager but I can move the mouse. It started out happening infrequently when I would first start the computer. It would boot up normally but when I tried to start a program it would freeze and the only thing I could do was power off and restart.
Now it happens every time I start the computer unless in safe mode, which works with no issue. Usually within the first 5 minutes after booting up the computer freezes. I have been able to open some programs or games in full screen and play normally but I am unable to alt+tab out of the game. When I exit to the desktop, everything is locked up as if the freeze has already occurred in the background.
I am running Windows 7 64bit SP1
Intel Core i5-3570k CPU
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 670 GPU

Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

I've been getting these blue screens that occur while I am away from the computer almost exclusively. It happens occasionally while in use, but if I leave it I can be sure it will have crashed when I return.[code] Read our privacy statement online: Windows 7 Privacy Statement - Microsoft Windows..If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:Windowssystem32en-USerofflps.txt.

Ok i got one of those store bought laptops that comes with vista basic and a whole bunch of mess and non-needed partitions. So i decided to just install windows 7 over the top.
I started the install app, deleted all the partitions and created a new one using all the unallocated space. Then i installed windows 7 to the new partition.
It installed fine, booted for the first time, i was tired so i shut it down and went to bed.
The next morning i turned it on it looked like it was booting fine but then it went straight to start up repair, the start up repair went for about 30 minutes and said no solution could be found. I tried a couple more times, every time the start up repair would take longer to say the same thing, until it simply started blue screening shortly after "Starting Windows".
So i decided to try reinstalling over the top, i put the installation disk in started the setup it loaded files and said "Starting Windows" shortly after it blue screened.
So now i had no clue what was happening, i managed to get into start up repair somehow, don't remember, and got into command prompt, from there i formatted the partition deleting all files on the disk. I then tried to boot to check if the format was successful and it said no bootmgr etc was found, so i determined the hard-drive was now clean.
So i put the installation disk in and booted from it, same thing loaded files, "Starting Windows", blue screen. I have no clue what is going on here and would appreciate any help, i am beginning to think it is a hardware error og some sort.

I just today managed to get a program to read .dmp files, and have my two most recent .dmp files for you to view. I had a blue screen from avast's self-protection driver so I removed avast and put on a different antivirus(I used avast's official uninstaller). I still am getting blue screens, but now they are staying the same (IRQL ones).

I haven't been able to get my system running stable since a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64 a few months now. The computer is about 3 years old. Local pc tech shop installed 7 64 Pro on a brand new hard drive (2 months ago) that was tested prior to installing the OS.I've included required reports. I believe my memory has been thoroughly tested and is running well. The only thing I haven't done is uninstalling Avast though not sure why it would be a problem software.

I just built a new machine and did a clean install of Windows 7 RC last week. For the most part it runs like a dream, very much up to par.
However, there are occasional Blue Screens and game crashes that happen while putting little strain on the PC, in my opinion.
I am typically running Firefox, Ventrilo and World of Warcraft when the issue occurs. Occasionally I get dips in my frame rate from around 60fps to 15-25fps. I received a notification that it was in relation to my video card and that I should update the driver, however I installed the 185.85 nvidia driver when I assembled it all.
Is there anyone that has experienced similar issues? if so what was your fix?

I ran windows rc for 6 months without any problems, and right now I'm working with a system that is not overclocked. I've had three occasions where I got a bsod before the login screen and I had to do a system restore to get into windows. However, I never get a bsod while I'm in windows.
My memory is running at the maximum recommended voltage, and I ran a checkdisk but it didn't do anything. Again, these are seemingly random, but once they start occurring they continue until I do a system restore. I know i'm not providing much info to help diagnose the problem, but it's all that i can think of. Any diagnostic/fix suggestions?

When I virus scan on norton internet security, my PC blue screens with the error: kernel_data_inpage_error, each time with a different error- I have done this twice, and it comes up relating to ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. The error code is 0x0000007a. Is the problem related to my OS installation or hardware?
