Whenever i reach the part when blue theme comes, the window do not pop up where i can choose languages etc.. So its just stay there without any error message.I've tested my DVD on other machines and it works fine.My PC: 880GM-UD2H , gtx460I've read other forums i should remove my videocard and try that way but nothing happens that way also.
View 1 RepliesNot to long ago my windows 7 laptop started to act up, Going real slow, about half an hour later i got tired of it, and restarted the thing, it then brought up a message telling me to check the disk or something, Doing this did nothing and it failed to start.after a few restarts that screen didn't come up and a new screen came up telling me a recent hardware change might of been the issue, I had no usbs, sd cards, or anything really connected to the pc. No problem, I thought i could just restore it to factory defaults, put in my repair disk and did just that, but it got stuck, at around 7% doing the restore over yielded the same result 7% every time.waiting 20 minutes did nothing. so i decided to run startup repair. Doing so brought up yet another error. saying startup repair could not repair this computer automatically.clicking show problem details said the problem event name was startuprepairoffiline. installing other os's either get stuck during the install or bring up a blue screen. the pc itself isn't making strange noises or anything, temperatures are normal.

When I try to do the start up repair and pick the OS on the hard drive it comes up with a error saying the os is not compatible even tho the upgrade was done from this disk. Upon start up, I would receive an error message saying "windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change might have caused the problem" and would give me some options to pick from like Safe Mode options and Start Normally. I would click "start windows normally" and my computer would boot up normally and run just fine. But every time I turn my computer off, I come back the next day with the same error message. I tried running the windows repair option but it would never find anything.
I decided I would just perform a clean install and just be done with it, but after doing that, I tried booting my computer to have the SAME error message. Same thing happens, I just click start normally and it works fine. It's just a total hassle to have to deal with this error message every time I try turning my computer on. Since I performed the clean install, I have very little things re installed to the computer like Java and what not. I wouldn't think it would be Java because I have had that the entire time I have owned the computer and only recently got the error messages.
I have a desktop with Windows 7 & a 1TB HDD, and everything is on the HDD. If I want to add an SSD & put the OS & some programs on it is there an easy way to do that? Perhaps copying all the data folders to an EHD & then making an image of the stripped down HDD & restoring that to an SSD? And then putting the data folders back onto the HDD?Or do I have to start from scratch & re-install a fresh copy of Windows 7 to the SSD?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust finished installing Win 7 64 bit on my Dell Inspiron 1545. It appeared the update was going along smoothly until it came time to reboot. After rebooting, the laptop showed that it was configuring Windows. Once the configuration was completed the system went into Startup Repair. Once completed and checking the Repair Details it shows a message indicating that ci.dll is corrupt. I was able to restore the computer to original state, but once I downloaded the 80 or so win 7 updates, I get the same problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I had finally got my first build ever running a few hours ago. Was so excited. I used the program wintoflash to copy my windows installation cd to my flash drive. Popped the flash drive in my new rig and booted it up. It went to installation and took a bit of time to completely install. As it restarted after install the windows startup came up and was continuously going for quite some time and never stopped. So where I am at is that I cant get past the start up screen.
I have tried so much. I pulled out the second stick of ram, the gpu.. ran memory check with no errors, tried re installing windows in many ways (different partitions).I tried running in safe mode but it just gets stuck at disk. The only thing I knoticed is that windows 7 installs faster the second time around, even after deleting all the memory on the hard drive (advanced option during install). I have browsed the web and nothing has helped. Just got a new mobo after replacing the last defected one today, so that cannot be the problem. Completely and utterly frustrated to be presented with another speedbump after all this hard work to get it running.

Then i remove my new ram (2GB), and try to start my PC then my PC work fine. As usual it say 15 seconds until restart then resarts and my computer get stuck on the startup screen (not on windows but in my case the motherboard welocme msg[the very first screen you see with press DEL to enter setup])
I got the "infinite repair start up" sequence on my laptop. I googled and tried all the fixes, but none seemed to work for me. So, I got a fresh download of Win 7 (it's the free trial version) and am trying to install it.It seems to go fine, but then it says it cannot find the drivers for my dvd drive. I have the Dell drivers disk (not sure if the driver is even on there... never used it before) but it doesn't seem to find anything on it.

my computer is about 2 years old. It first came with Windows vista 64. A few months ago I got a hold of a copy of windows 7 pro 32, so I wanted to check it out, even If I was going to take a hit on ram. Well now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64, but after doing a fresh install I kept getting BSOD after the windows logo. I was able to complete the setup after removing all my ram except for one stick. The same problem persists after setup. I can boot up in safe mode just fine with all of my ram.

So my XPS caught fire and my mom gave me her old computer as she got a new one.i threw some good parts from my XPS into this Dimention 8400 so it has better specs to run windows 7.3GB of ram and my X800XT radeon videocard and the 3.0GHz HT 64 bit processorNow i installed windows 7 32 bit ultimate from my XPS and it takes 20 seconds to get to the logon screen, but after that once you log in the "Loading" screen takes 3-6 mins along with once the desktop shows up it takes another 5 mins or so to even press the start button and bring the start menu up, 45 seconds to 2 mins to bring the internet up and this is a FRESH install, as of like....20 mins from this post it finished installing. not even activated yet

After a new (clean) install of Windows 7, the start menu is empty - all installed programs and other items usually posted by the installer are missing. Is there a fix (not a workaround) for this problem? There have been a lot of postings for this issue over time throughout the Internet, but I cannot find a real fix (like a patch from Microsoft) for this problem. When I install Windows 7 with a newer release of Windows 7, the start menu is populated as expected, so I can only infer that Microsoft knew about and fixed the problem in later releases, but did not post a fix. Unfortunately, I have a couple of systems that have recently been built with an earlier release of Windows 7, and subsequently, have the problem.

The original computer booted with the windows start up screen. And the test computer booted up with the vista boot up screen.
I was told by a local computer repair facility this had something to do with video drivers.I tried what the organization suggested and uninstalled all video drivers (I used generic Windows 7 Video Drivers).Then the organization recommended downloading the latest video drivers for the GeForce 9500GT.This video card has 512GBytes of memory. Last night I was on my computer and then I shut it down. Today when I came home from work it keeps saying windows failed to start. So I went into bios and made my configuration boot from cd/dvd popped it in and restarted, a black screen came up saying windows is loading files, then the windows 7 menu came up, picked my language, next, and first I tried repair my computer, I get the little circle meaning its loading for like 5 seconds them it does nothing, rebooted again but this time I chose, install and I've been on the setup is starting for like 20 min. And forgot to mention, when it boots seem like it does good then comes to the screen where it says windows failed and gives me two options repair our start normal, if I pick repair it just reboots and start normal takes me to like the pick your user screen but its just blank no users, so I can't even restore our access the computer.

It boots up fine up to the part where the four balls become the windows logo, but then freezes there everytime. When i try to select the windows start up repair it blacks out the screen and I cant do anything.
I know its not a faulty hard drive because its newly fitted and this problem occured previously on a different hard drive aswell.
I have Windows Ultimate (x64).I use the Asus Suite II supplied with my Asus Asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 Motherboard (which I like for fan and temperature monitoring) Ai Suite II always loads BUT "on screen" it is messy during loading because a seemingly AI Suite bar sized white artefact appears top left of screen for 10- 20 seconds before disappearing when the AI suite icon appears in the notification tray. Sometimes a white square also appears temporarily.I have noted that if I exit Ai Suite II and reload via the Asus AI suite supplied Shortcut I never get these artefacts AND the suite loads instantaneously (I note however Asus uses AI Suite II.exe via the shortcut but via the Asus installed Task Schedule it open via "AsRoutineController.exe -open"I have also tried unloading AI Suite II and AsRoutineController.exe and loading AsRoutineController.exe and it too loads cleanly and almost instantaneously.
1) Why does Asus use the Task scheduler instead of loading via the normal Windows Startup procedures?
2) Could it be so each can be easily disabled if required) and is that the ONLY reason?
3) what is the -open switch in the command line?
4) Is there ANY good reason why I should not disable the AI Suite II in the Task Scheduler and add it the the Normal Windows Startup applications I use the Free version of Startup Delayer as it has served me wonderfully with my current Win 7 O/S (and my previous XP) in ensuring all desired Notification Tray Icons display EVERY time).
Today I PROVISIONALLY made the change and AI Suite II opens cleanly (as other Startup apps) without temporary white artefacts and with no noted side effects so far. I am nervous however, to make it permanent without advice from knowledgeable Seven Forums members on this subject
Yesterday i wanted to change my OS to windows 7 64bits (I had windows 7 32bits before and worked just fine). The installation goes well but when windows install tries to reboot to complete the installation it hangs on "windows start" and reboot again and again. I tried several solutions such as
- Install using a different cd (3 different cds and same problem)
- Install from USB flash (not even working)
- Fix boot system (from command prompt using windows repair cd)
- Re-install windows 32 bits (same problem)
- boot in Safe mode (same problem it reboots again and again)
- Windows system repair (from cd)
PS:I have a Dell inspiron M 560 (Core 2 Quad, 4Go in RAM).

Log files show below that 4 things failed to load. Tuesday couldn't boot up PC again.. tried to restart like 4-5 times.. Finally comes up and in the logs there's numerous things that failed to load. Running a sfc /scannow right now.

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.
When i got home today didn't my computer work, my girlfriend has been the last one using it.
