View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't connect to the internet on my desktop pc after I reinstalled windows. I have linksys wrt320n router and I can connect to it only by wi-fi. When I try to install router's setup wizard or network magic - it writes that my computer is not connected to router though it is connected in the same way as it was before. In the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION it is also written that network cable is unplugged...I also tryed to connect just internet cable without router - PC also didn't react. Maybe the problem is that my network adapter (nvidia nforce) is without appropriate drivers? Cause I can't find drivers for nvidia nforce networking contoller for windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bought an Acer Aspire One a751h with an integrated 3G modem. I received it with a fresh install of Windows 7 and I cannot get the integrated 3G modem to work. I click on the Acer internet manager and it says the modem is not found. The 3g switches on fine and it's lit up so all ready to use but it cannot find the modem. What I need to install and add instructions on what I need to do because I've downloaded several drivers to try and none have worked, although I must admit I'm not sure what to do once they are extracted from a zip file?
The info on the side of the box is as follows:-

CPU: Intel Atom Processor Z520
RAM: 1GB DDR2 STORAGE 160GB
Operating System:- Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1

Since yesterday I can't connect to the modem with my desktop pc(windows 7 x64). I get APIPA as IP adress(169.254.*.*). Tho I could go on internet with my notebook with the cable I use for desktop PC.
this is how my connection looks like. I got only modem & switch between my connection to the internet. note: I have no fileserver.
I've checked the following things with my other PC(=notebook windows 7 x86): modem, switch, cable and my network card and everything did work fine. note: I did use the same cable as I was using for the desktop PC to be sure that the cableline was fine. I made the next tests with my desktop PC.
Then done the next ones without success:system restore(1 week)winsock fixreinstalling the networkcardgiving static IP adress
My network card settings are the same for the both PC, set to automatically obtain IP address and DNS server addresses
ipconfig /all of my desktop pc.(not working) Code: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

As reported elsewhere, I had some issues with my Win 7 installation which involved more fiddling than needed but most everything is working again. Why more than needed? In the list of possible solutions, I was given the one that fixed the big problem last. C'est la vie. Now, I get to fiddle with fixing little problems. The latest is that Windows Fax and Scan are no longer workingI have a modem in my computer solely for when I send faxes. With the way that they keep eliminating slots on motherboards, I don't know what I'll do when I upgrade but that's neither here nor there. Back to the story.
A couple weeks ago, I sent a fax without any issues. Today, I needed to send one and Window Fax and Scan couldn't find the modem. When I click on "Connect to a fax modem" I get "an error occured. Please try the operation later."I opened a console and sent some AT commands to the modem and it responded. Off hook, on hook, dial. It is set as COM 3. I do have a Bluetooth dongle that is COM 6.Before Win 7, I used WinFax Pro. I had been using WinFax for years and years and never had a problem. However, WinFax Pro doesn't work with Win 7. One last question. When I started up WFS, it no longer shows my previously sent faxes. Where are those hidden?
I have windows 7 64 bit Asus computer with realtek PCIe GBE family controller Tuesday I had internet. Went to load a programand it wanted to reboot and do chkdisk. When it booted back up no internet. It is a DSL Motorola modem through At&T The Ethernet light does not come on. At&T tech support said it was the modem and sent a new one but still having the same problem. The indicator lights on the back of thecomputer are blinking so at least there is power to the card?

I have been on the phone with comcast and they have no clue on my issue, they say since these are my modems and not leased ones from them that they will have to charge me if I have a tech out to the house, Why will these computers not grab a dynamic address from the surfboard or comcast.

I don't actually remember the name of the manufacturer's; may be its 1X CDMA Modem! Now I purchased a Dell Laptop with x64 core i5 processor and now the software provided with the modem (in its driver CD) isn't compatible with my Windows 7 Home Premium. So I can't use internet in my new laptop...and I don't want to continue using internet in my old PC which has very inferior configuration! In fact even the dialler software provided in the same CD was not installed unless I disabled my anti-virus i.e. Microsoft Security Essentials!
