View 1 RepliesI had been using internet with the help of USB CDMA Modem whose image have been attached below, in my PC with Windows XP SP3 (x32) previously. I don't actually remember the name of the manufacturer's; may be its 1X CDMA Modem! Now I purchased a Dell Laptop with x64 core i5 processor and now the software provided with the modem (in its driver CD) isn't compatible with my Windows 7 Home Premium. So I can't use internet in my new laptop...and I don't want to continue using internet in my old PC which has very inferior configuration! In fact even the dialler software provided in the same CD was not installed unless I disabled my anti-virus i.e. Microsoft Security Essentials!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my internet connection. I can't get high speed on my road so its a lot better than dial up. Any way I've used it for a few years and now I cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and I had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when I try to query the modem or connect to the internet. I am pretty sure I just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few differnt drivers and no luck.

I have tried the win vista 64 drivers with no luck. I have searched, for two days, for drivers AC '97 2.3 Compliant Audio (Conexant Audio 6.14.10.0575 from Gateway website), and the PCI Modem (Conexant7.22.0.0 1.4 MB 08/03/2010) do not work. I searched the Conexant website for drivers, again no luck.Other than that, after a HDD upgrade, 2GB memory upgrade this old machine, supprising, it runs very good.

Can anybody tell me how do I get the drivers for H9601 modem (Prolink) for my newly purchased personal computer with Windows 7 home Premium, 64 bit. i am facing real problem in connecting to the internet.
On the prolink's website it is mentioned to use vista 64 bit drivers but when these are installed, the computer tells you to reboot to complete the installation but when it comes back it still does not recognize the modem.
I'm looking for a 64-bit USB Cable Modem driver that works with Vista or Windows 7.
This is my modem:
Cisco DPC/EPC2100 Cable Modem - Support - Cable Modems - Consumer - Cisco
However, none of these drivers seem to work with 64-bit.
I was wondering if there are no drivers available for this specific modem, is there a generic
64-bit USB Cable Modem available that can be used as a replacement? If so, where?
And if I'm happen to be stuck with a 64-bit OS and this modem, is there any other solution
to workaround this problem? Would it be possible to hook up a router so Windows wouldn't
see my cable modem?

What I need to install and add instructions on what I need to do because I've downloaded several drivers to try and none have worked, although I must admit I'm not sure what to do once they are extracted from a zip file?

Since yesterday I can't connect to the modem with my desktop pc(windows 7 x64). I get APIPA as IP adress(169.254.*.*). Tho I could go on internet with my notebook with the cable I use for desktop PC.
this is how my connection looks like. I got only modem & switch between my connection to the internet. note: I have no fileserver.
I've checked the following things with my other PC(=notebook windows 7 x86): modem, switch, cable and my network card and everything did work fine. note: I did use the same cable as I was using for the desktop PC to be sure that the cableline was fine. I made the next tests with my desktop PC.
Then done the next ones without success:system restore(1 week)winsock fixreinstalling the networkcardgiving static IP adress
My network card settings are the same for the both PC, set to automatically obtain IP address and DNS server addresses
ipconfig /all of my desktop pc.(not working) Code: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

As reported elsewhere, I had some issues with my Win 7 installation which involved more fiddling than needed but most everything is working again. Why more than needed? In the list of possible solutions, I was given the one that fixed the big problem last. C'est la vie. Now, I get to fiddle with fixing little problems. The latest is that Windows Fax and Scan are no longer workingI have a modem in my computer solely for when I send faxes. With the way that they keep eliminating slots on motherboards, I don't know what I'll do when I upgrade but that's neither here nor there. Back to the story.
A couple weeks ago, I sent a fax without any issues. Today, I needed to send one and Window Fax and Scan couldn't find the modem. When I click on "Connect to a fax modem" I get "an error occured. Please try the operation later."I opened a console and sent some AT commands to the modem and it responded. Off hook, on hook, dial. It is set as COM 3. I do have a Bluetooth dongle that is COM 6.Before Win 7, I used WinFax Pro. I had been using WinFax for years and years and never had a problem. However, WinFax Pro doesn't work with Win 7. One last question. When I started up WFS, it no longer shows my previously sent faxes. Where are those hidden?
I have windows 7 64 bit Asus computer with realtek PCIe GBE family controller Tuesday I had internet. Went to load a programand it wanted to reboot and do chkdisk. When it booted back up no internet. It is a DSL Motorola modem through At&T The Ethernet light does not come on. At&T tech support said it was the modem and sent a new one but still having the same problem. The indicator lights on the back of thecomputer are blinking so at least there is power to the card?

I have been on the phone with comcast and they have no clue on my issue, they say since these are my modems and not leased ones from them that they will have to charge me if I have a tech out to the house, Why will these computers not grab a dynamic address from the surfboard or comcast.
