I am using Windows 7 and when i plug the printer in , it just adds it to the "Unspecified" devices list.I downloaded the drivers , ran them in Vista compatibility mode , and it gets to this "EZ installer" part and then it just says something like make sure that the device is visible or something and then it repeats the same thing after like a half a minute and then it says that the operation has failed.I tried removing the "unspecified device" from device manager and then running the driver installation again but then windows tries automaticly to install it on its own but it fails saying that the driver was not found and at the same point the Ez installer freezes up.
I just updated my desktop pc to windows seven and having a trouble printing with a usb hp laserjet1020
I get the printer shared and connected. send a page to print. and the page shows up in the printer que and just sits there until i restart the computer. and have to restart each time i need to print. or till i turn off the printer and disconnect the usb and reconnect and power it back up
it prints fine from the computer the usb printer is connected too.
just wont print the shared laptops. on is vista and the other is windows seven connected to homeshare.
I've got installed windows 7 on both pc and netbook computers. On PC it's 7057 64bit and on netbook it's 7022 32bit.
On PC I installed the HP LaserJet 1020 USB printer and it works perfectly. Then I tried to share this printer to netbook. I did check the "Share this printer", entered the name of share "hp1020" also installed additional drivers for x86 and after that hp1020 is visible on netbook but when i want to connect/install this printer on board this message appears:
"Connect to Printer"
"Windows cannot connect to the printer. The print processor does not exist"
Completely don't know what to do? Sharing is working with folders.
I found the button "rint processor" in printers properties advanced tab and ZIMFPrint (IMF) is checked there.
I am running Windows 7 Professional Connected to an HP Laserjet 1020. I am trying to share this printer with network printers as of now file sharing works seamlessly on vista, and other windows 7 machines.
On windows 7 machine an error pops up when trying to connect to printer
On vista machine printer is connected however when jobs are sent to the printer it sits in the queue until restart.
I havea new Acer aspire 5950 laptop. I try to connect it with hp laserjet 1020. Acer try to solve the problem and finds tne drivers from the page of Hp. In the middle of installation it stops it and says only Acer stop driver installation..
I have three HP Model 1020 laser printers. Windows 7 does not like the printer and intermittently "loses" the printer such that I must uninstall and reinstall the printer to clear the spooler. Yes, I downloaded the latest drivers, and it still haunts me. Any suggestions?
Running Windows 7 32-bit with a laserjet 1020, printer stopped working. Uninstalled - reinstalled with original install disk. Re-re-installed with updated drivers. Changed printer cable. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling a different laserjet 1020 (ie different printer - same model). would not print. If I try to print - the job goes to the queue, and sits there - because 'work offline' has somehow become checked. un-checking 'work off-line' causes an error running troubleshoot fixes the error by removing the job from the queue and re-checking 'work off-line'. in each case there are files windows designates as 'shockwave flash objects' (I'm guessing the designation is incorrect and these are actually the print jobs). Shutting down the spooler.
Used USB to connect to new Dell Lattitude E5530. Have the latest HP driver, Devices & Printers detected printer when added but keep getting error message "Unable to connect with printer" from MS Word when i want to print. Did the plugging in and out, restarting both.
i want to ask. My windows cannot recognize my CD-R files. i put in my CD-R and windows recognize it as blank CD-R. while there's file (an autorun files and software installer) in that CD-R. i have pc and laptop, i try putting my cd-r on my pc (win xp sp2) my windows recognize the file, but when i try putting on my laptop (win 7 64bit) it recognized as blank cd-r.
I was gfiven some external hardrives with enclosures and was told they all work. I cant get a single one to be recognized in computer. any tips or workarounds to get windows to recognize these drives. I am now using an acer 64 bit laptop.
I have a TDK Trans-it 4GB pen. One of my machines recognizes it just fine, but the other does not evenn recognize it (no dialog, search for new hardware does not return)
On my PC there is a card reader connected. It shows up as 4 different drives when I look at "My Computer" and elsewhere. One of the slots in the reader is for sim cards. When a sim card is inserted a Windows sound is heard and the "Installing Device Driver" window shows up but then another window stating the installation was not successful. Any further action from within windows does not solve the problem. I tried an external card reader connected via USB and the same negative results. this was tried with 3 different sim cards.
I have a laptop (Asus K55D) with two OS, Windows 8 and 7, operating through a KVM switch (trendnet tk-409). It is also connected to a Linux machine. Linux machine works fine. When booting the laptop, the Bios and the boot selection work fine too, and so does Windows 8 when booted. But when booted into Windows 7, while the display works, the keyobard and mouse do not.
I did a quick search on this site on "Administrator not reconized" and found the only threads mentioning this problem have both been closed. My problem is that in trying to download the entire HP driver/software disc for my hp printer psc 1350 series, I was not able to download the entire software, because I did not have Administrator's rights, etc, even though I was the only Administrator (and sole user of this computer at that time). I did some research online and followed one suggestion that I followed, which was to change the setting by going to Start, typing 'cmd' in search field, and typing in 'net user administrator /active:yes.' This created another "Administrator" user, which I am now finding quite useless, since many of my programs have already been downloaded on my first "Administrator" status. I need to know how to remove the last one I created (Administrator), if possible. As it stands right now, the one I had before is the only one with the option to delete. (Ugh!) In any case, even having the second Administrator user status, will not allow me to download the above mentioned software completely. So, I went full circle with the same problem, with no solution.
1) Remove the second Administrator user, and 2) how to get Windows 7 to allow me to download the above mentioned. BTW, I have already tried right-clicking the disc drive (setup file) and clicked "Run as Administrator" - all to no avail. Nothing seems to work.
For some reason Windows 7 Home Premium has decided not to recognize my CD/DVDW drive?t was fine yesterday but today not. The driver is up to date per the fix it tool.Anyone know what I should try next? I have a basic understanding of the computer, but am not expert by a long shot
I've just got a brand new EasyCAP capture card and my computer won't recognise it. In device manager it appears as SM-USV 007 in "Other Devices", and none of the tutorials i've been looking at say that. They all recognise EasyCAP as a capture card. My other problem is that my laptop won't read the installation disc for some reason. I don't know if it's the solution to my problem or it just contains drivers and the screen capture program. I have downloaded the Windows 7 x64 drivers and installed them but it fails to find them for the device.
I get to the part of the installation where you select a partition/drive, and there is nothing there. I have tried using different two different HDD both spin up but the installation doesn't see them. I have also switched out SATA Cables, used different power connectors, even tried loading drivers, and have reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS Battery.

I wondering if anyone could help me, when I'm playing a game on the pc I would like the sound to come from the speakers but use the front jack to plug in my headset and talk to friends on skype. My problem is the sound from my game comes through my headset as well and it's very annoying! Also if someone else is on the pc and i'm on a skype call I have to ask them to mute the sound on the pc. I have Realtek Hd Audio Manager installed and it recognizes the headset when I plug it in but in control panel under sound it doesn't,it thinks my headset is speakers.I've searched and searched for a solution, apparently older versions of Realtek had better options for controlling jacks, the one I have even though it's all updated is very basic with no options to change any settings to do with jacks.
I disassembled my computer, carried it in my luggage and reassembled it. The only thing changed is the case. Since reassembling it, Windows (7 ultimate 64-bit) will not recognize either of my 2 DVD-RW's. At boot, my bios offers them as boot options, and with the Win7 disk in the one, it will boot from it if selected. However, once within the Win7 environment...nothing. Not even any yellow exclamation marks in device driver. I have tried to force installation, tried installing a legacy device, everything I can think of. how I can force Win7 to search for and find my DVD-RW's?
