View 1 RepliesI have a HP DV7-1247CL x64 and use Windows 7 Home Premium. My ISP is Verizon FIOS Ultimate and my average speed up/down is about 35/35 with a wired connection.
Recently I have noticed that after signing in it takes about 2 1/2 min to get the Windows 7 loaded. I don't think this is average so what is the average load time.
i have a problem with my computer. It is a ASUS K53U. The computer is barely one month old and it already slooooow. It is always around 88-100% cpu usage, and when i open example spotify its always 100%.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my laptop that started a bit over a week ago. The CPU usage is very high, most of the time. I have tried a variety of things from updates to Windows and drivers, to security scans from various programs, yet the problem remains.
Basic info:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6570 @ 2.10GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 1912 Mb
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family, 828 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 230364 MB, Free - 114501 MB;
Motherboard: TOSHIBA, NBWAA
Antivirus: None
I uninstalled MSE earlier to see if that was the cause, but it was not, hence no antivirus protection. Additionally, I installed Process Explorer to have a better idea of the cause. A large part that takes up much of the CPU is the svchost.exe-taskeng.exe-NDSTray.exe-CFSwMgr.exe process. I can easily post a HiJack this log or screen caps of Task Manager or Process Explorer.
on first install of windows 7 (and XP when I was using it) the comp ran fine booted in less than 30secs, but over the couple of weeks it just keeps getting slower and slower now it can take anywhere between 3-5min.
once it has booted to windows log on screen it takes all of a secound to load.
I built my and my brothers comps, there both using the same Mobo/CPU I have 4GB (he has 2GB) but his computer boots faster than mine.
no problems once the comp has started apart from certain settings wont save like where I leave my Icons on DT, and screens staying maximized.
would give boot log but cant remember how to get it...
I'm having a long loading time for Dead Island.how to speed this up at all?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have problem with my windows 7. When i try to open a directory on LAN, every now and then it begins to reload the directory. The upper bar begins to fill up with green color (in my theme of course), and it takes very long time, like 3, or 4 minutes. In the directory there is not much stuff, maybe 200 or 300 text files. And during this 3 or 4 minutes, the computer is almost blocked.
It is very slow, the browser can not connect to any site on internet, any programs that are working stalls, or becomes very slow. When the directory is loaded, things return to normal. And what is more, this problem does not occur with every directory on the LAN, only with some of them.
What can be the reason and how can I fix it?
Can't tell if Windows 7 or my RAM, certain programs have been loading REALLY slow. For example, Google chrome that took miliseconds to start up, now takes 10 seconds to actually open, and 2-3 minutes to load the page. Other programs i start up with Google chrome at the same time (because 8 GB ram should be able to handle this...) such as Steam, aim, etc also take a long time to start up. However, this only happens when i open them at the same time i open Google Chrome. Then all of a sudden, the finish loading all at the SAME TIME. Like, I would open Chrome, then Steam, then aim, and they would all be loading, and as soon as Google Chrome finishes its 2-3 minute loading, everything loads at the same time.

Problem: When I use facebook.com either https or http, after a certain period of times or page visits, the facebook stops loading and "hangs" on a page not going back or forward. I either have to wait, or close it and open another browser. This has been going on for quite some time. I tried clearing everything with CCleaner, flushed DNS, Etc. When I ping, I get all 4 responses.
I just installed windows 7 ultimate sp1 - Like the title says I'm seeing 35% cpu usage with nothing going on. I googled around and ran traces to see which driver it was, turned out the ahci driver was doing it. The USB driver showed similarly high latency but that can be delt with later. Most forums recommend upgrading your drivers but this problem has stayed constant both with microsoft's stock drivers for everything and after running windows built in search for drivers even after I manually grabbed the latest drivers for everything. url...BIOS is up to date4 GB RAM - Corsair something or otherEVGA Geforce 8800 GT450W psu1 DVD burner (sata)5 hard drives (sata) plugged into all but the first sata port because that caused nothing but headaches for me. Update - switching from AHCI to IDE in BIOS fixed the problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSince Jan-Feb of this year I have encountered the following issue while trying to play games on my laptop.
Abnormally High CPU Usage
Extremely low FPS - After 5-20 Mins of play.
Extremely High latency to servers - from 300 - 900 after 5 - 20 mins of play.
The thing is all of these started 1 year after I been using this laptop, after a full year of everything running flawlessly all these issues kicked in after I performed a clean install in Jan., I even performed one in Feb. and one 3 weeks ago
Here are my specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
Name ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series
Adapter Description ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series
Adapter RAM 1.00 GB (1,073,741,824 bytes)
One particular site that is not loading at all, on any browsers on my computer is [URL]. There are many more that fail to load as well. I did test these sites on my iPhone with no problems though. There are a handful of other sites that do open but do not load properly [missing images, ect.] I also thought that it might be malware but I installed & scanned my computer with four different programs which did not solve the problem. I'm guessing that it still may be some problem on the software side with settings but I can't seem to figure out where to look. BTW, I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus program for the past couple of days now. Prior to that I was using Avira but it seemed to be giving me problems so I uninstalled it and installed the Microsoft app.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

View 3 Replies View Relatedso yesterday at a lan party we decided to upgrade my mates ancient PC to Windows 7 from XP and the computer should have the specs for it and Windows 7 itself was/is running smooth. The first time I put up Windows Home Premium and installed the normal programs. I installed steam and downloaded Counter-Strike, and told my m8 to go play on a local server. And his ping going crazy. My MS is about 10-20 on a local server, but his jumps from 50-200ms, which is unbearable. Well after that we decided to back XP and went off to play, and now it was working perfectly. And the day after we put up a new Windows 7 Ultimate 86x. And again the same problem persists.
