Windows Media Player 12 'Not Responding'
Jul 6, 2009I have the Windows 7 RC 64-bit installed on my comp, and I have been using WMP12 for a few months now with no issues up until recently. It has been freezing constantly on me within minutes of starting a song from my playlist. After 2 minutes into a song, WMP12 will dim and I get a message saying WMP12 is not responding and needs to close. I do have a very extensive music playlist which I'm constantly adding more music to, so I am wondering if it's maybe too big for it to handle (about 20-30 GBs of music). [code]

May 18, 2009Whenever I play a video file (.wmv, mpg, etc) or audio (.mp3), MP starts out at the last size it "remembered." But when it opens the file and starts playing it, the window gets really small, like a default size and makes it difficult and annoying to re-size it to an appropriate size. Most annoying is MP becomes smaller such that the volume control on it disappears to just being a toggle for mute. Is there any way to change the default size of MP?

And I have Foobar (portable) as the default program for .mp3.Usually the icons on .mp4, .avi, .mp3 files get updated with the icons of the assigned media players.But on this PC it's not working. They're still the same icons as if WMP was the default player.Does it have to do with the Standard user account? (Because on other PCs I run from an Admin account and I don't have such problems.)

It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Is there a way to completely purge the WMP library and make it not update ever? I've unchecked every option that seems to make it scan and update but it still does it.Basically I want to UNLINK the Windows Explorer Library from the WMP Library.

Jul 25, 2011I'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.

Dec 20, 2009I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oct 11, 2011Everytime I tried to open [URL](my IP camera video stream file); realPlayer Basic v14 kept opening an upgrade to realPlayer Plus window. When I click on "No thanks" another window for free trial opened. This was an endless loop. The IP camera video stream is H264 format and streams just fine on my other Windows 7 PC. Well, to make a long story short; the Win 7 Pro machine did not have QuickTime player installed which provided the H264 codec needed. I installed QuickTime and the IP camera now streams via realPlayer 14. I suspect you could install any H264 codec and accomplish the same thing and avoid the Plus upgrade.

According to my oppinion WMP11 was quite better in handling.
Now in WMP11 we have 2 main views, as the Library mode and as the player mode, and some skin modes.
Well in player mode everything was fine, I had some reactions for it but I finaly managed to settle down with it.
After some days of usage WMP became "Ghostly". It lost its background image, and it lost it blue faded corners.
Now my WMP looks like an unseccesefull plastic surgery.
Watch by yourselves.
I thought that it would dissapear, but later I found out that it is permanent.
Anyone faced this? Anyone knows how to face this?
There also was an option to RIP CD when I had no CD in my drive. But after some days it was gone.
I hope they make WMP better in handling.
Sound Is Low In Media Player
Aug 5, 2012For some reason (I think this happened with the installation of the latest version), all my movies play very low. I play them in VLC, and my ears are about to blow off lol. Any ideas before I roll back to the prior version to see.
