Change Icon For Printer To A Different Icon
Dec 26, 2012I installed a wireless laser printer. To install...you must connect locally with a USB cable to enter the wireless network's password. This process installed a printer locally and the associated icon was the correct icon. I then set it up wirelessly and when it completed...the icon looked like a fax machine.
The icon I want to use exists somewhere.
1) How do I tell what icon is being used for a device
2) How do I specify the icon I want to use for a device.

Apr 29, 2011I have a printer icon in "Printers and Devices" that I can't get rid of and I believe that it is causing conflicts with my being able to use my printer correctly, i.e., I have downloaded drivers for my printer but when troubleshoot the correct printer icon, the results show that there is no printer driver installed for my printer. The offending icon is the "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" icon.(Please see the screenshot in the attachment.) I have tried the "Remove Device" option many times, but the icon reappears. Also, frequently, when I click on the IE icon, the page that comes up is blank and I have to go into Tools/Internet Options to get my home page back. I don't know if these problems are related, but I wanted to mention them both in case they are.

Apr 1, 2012On the bottom right of the desktop on Windows 76, the notification icon for internet usually shows the disconnected icon or the no access icon. I'm still connected to the internet though and when I click on the icon, it opens up to show my connection (that is working). Why is it doing this? I've tried googling it, no use. Apr 26, 2011having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. How do I clean up that window by getting rid of those obsolete references that no longer work? It's ridiculous that they don't simply disappear when I select one of them as the default.
