When Go To All Program, Cannot Find Accessories In The List
Feb 12, 2010
When I go to All Program, I cannot find Accessories in the list. I know it was between XPS Viewer and Corel Paint Shop, but it is not there anymore. Don't have a clue as to why it is gone. How do I get it back?
Trying to trouble shoot the reason I can't open a pdf or create one with windows 7 - was working but hasn't worked since April. I have the latest Adobe Air and Adobe flash player 10 on my computer. I saw a post that said to change the default but I don't see the pdf extension in my list
I have W7 IE and have downloaded a word processing program (AbiWord) which I want to add to list of Default Programs. how to get this program added to the default list?
I noticed this a few days after having to restore my drive from a True Image backup.Running Win 7 Professional.I currently have 5 "recent" programs listed in my Start Menu (not pinned). I have Properties set to show 15 recent programs. When I run a program from the Start Menu (not the "recent programs," but the full list) or from Explorer (navigate to program and double-click the exe file), the program does not get added to the list. The only recently run programs being added are ones I run from Desktop shortcuts. I know this is not normal behavior; my laptop, also running Win 7 Professional, adds recent programs regardless of how they're launched.
I manually removed all programs from the FPL and have run a multitude of various programs yet nothing shows up. So now my list is all blank.to keep the various suggested solutions short, I know about setting the "Start Menu Size"; I've tried 5 to 20. No joy. I know about the checkbox in the Privacy area of the Start Menu tab; mine IS checked but still no joy. I know about "NoStartPage" setting in HKClassesRoot for various program types and to my knowledge.
I had an issue with a Corel product yesterday and the Tech said "it's a quick Registry fix", logged in and made the change....then fixed it so that I now have to do a complete reinstall. It's as if he created a whole new profile, so now I can't run certain programs even though they appear on the Program list.Rather that wrestle with a fix, easier to reinstall the software. The problem is that a directory that was once visible to me previously that contained 5gb of files is no longer visible. This apparent new Identity (or whatever they did) doesn't recognize it.The files are there. If I go to Computer, right click, Everything and do a text search for files I know are there, I can see them.Is there some freeware available that will allow me to browse everything on the harddrive, no matter which Identity created it?
How do you add a program to the list of Default Programs in Windows 7? For example Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007. It doesn't show in the list
I hope this is the correct place to ask this question. I come from Window XP. I am used to see my long list of programs all spread out so I can see what I have w/o scrolling.
Is there a way to fully display my installed programs w/o scrolling in such a small window above the start button? Have I asked this clearly? LOL. Sometimes, I may not iterate what I am trying to ask.
I mistakenly drag the MS Word file from all program list to desktop and laterdelete that shortcut permanently.Later, when I try to open MS Word fromthe folder from MS Office from 'All Program List' of start menu;it was not thereat all. Now I don't understand how to open MS Word and how it would again appearin All Program List
I recently have been trying to set up some default programs for certain file types to open in. When I try to choose a program in the 'Open with...' dialogue box, I am unable to select a new program from the default list. The program I need isn't in that list, but I can't add to the list or choose a different program when I choose to browse for a new program.
I have tried installing windows live essentials to use live mail, it says live mail is installed but it doesn't appear in the program list and i cant open it.
I uninstalled Lavasoft Ad-Aware application and noticed that the its program tray icon is still showing on the Notification Area List. Is there a way to remove it?
Is there a way to control a single program from appearing on the recent programs list? I use Keepass for password management and have the program set to not remember the path of the database or key file. However, whenever I run the program, it gets populated on the recent programs list pointing straight to the location of the key file and database. Pinning the program to the taskbar does the same thing as well. I really do not want to disable the recent programs display, but I don't want anyone to be able to just have access to my passwords because the icon is right there for them to click on.
I used to have command prompt in my accessories folder but it is now missing. I need to run it in Administrator mode. I get the prompt when I use the Run option but I don't know how to get to the administrator mode
I have tried copying the folder over from another computer but it says something about merging and even after merging there is nothing there. I managed to copy the accessories folder from this computer to the start menu before but it opened like a normal folder and didnt expand, and it didn't contain paint, defrag, etc.
How can i remove JUST the program from the list, without actually uninstalling it?Ive tried going toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall but i cannot find the program i want to do this to.
Ok, I'm using COWON jetAudio as my media player in Windows 7 (I've been using this all in one media player for years now, and I love it.) And I'm trying to associate all of the file types to jetAudio.
When I go into the jetAudio preferences, and check all file types, it doesn't work properly, I'm guessing it's due to the fact that Windows 7 is still Beta.
Why does the Windows 7 compatibility center list this program as compatible with Windows 7 when it CLEARLY does not work with Windows 7 without serious effort? Then, Microsoft doesn't even post workarounds for how to make it work with Windows 7! I know this game is really really old but it is a Microsoft game so they should put some effort into keeping it alive, particularly since it is better than AOE III.I have successfully installed AOEII: Age of Kings and the expansion (conqueror's) and updated to patch 1.0C or whatever it is called. When I go to run conqueror's the splash screen comes up saying that it is loading, I hear the CD spin, and then 3-4 seconds later the CD spins down and the splash screen just hangs there for eternity. The game never runs. I've tried running in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode and as an administrator.
Cannot find 'file ///C:/Program%20files%20(x86)/Wajam/IE/res/wajam.html' make sure the path or internet address is correct. This just started this morning for every internet address I try to access.
Some application(s) on my computer is modifying of MP3 files. When I look at the time and date, on a mp3 folder that I haven't modified in months or years, it shows the current date and the last time it was modified.
This issue is messing up my local and online backup because it is backing up the same files over and over because something is modifying my folder/files.Is there a way to find out which program in modifying my mp3's? I am using Itunes 10 on Windows 7.
