I just installed Microsoft virtual pc and xp mode. In the event viewer it says to update to the latest version of Virtual pc integration components. When I check tools in XP mode all that's there is disable integration components. There's nothing there to update to the latest. Where do you go to see what version you have?

I haven't used it extensively though, so, while I think it's unlikely, is it possible for me to say, install a game controller for Windows XP, then use it with a Windows 7 application?
I would try it, but the controller in question had a rather lengthy install process, and I'd like to know that before I spend all this time to find out something is useless.
To start, a quote from Windows 7 EULA: Quote: ... 2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS. a. One Copy per Computer. You may install one copy of the software on one computer. That computer is the "licensed computer." ... As the older geeks certainly remember, in earlier Windows versions it was possible to use different hardware profiles. You simply got a boot menu asking which hardware profile to boot.In 7 this is not possible. You have to manually disable or enable the hardware components when the need arises.
What if I install all the software I need, activate Seven, then create a system image. Shut down the computer, disconnect the Windows 7 HD, attach an equal new HD, use recovery tools to return the said image to this HD number 2. Put HD 1 back, use BCEDIT or a third party tool to create a boot menu which at this point would include two absolutely identical Seven installations.Then strip down Seven setup #2, disable all unnecessary devices etc. thus creating a Seven - Seven dual boot environment, with two different HW-profiles. The computer is the same, only one of the two Sevens could be used at any given time, and so on
I know there is a tool available to test my computer to see if it's capable of running Windows 7. My question is this: Is there a tool available that I can run on the server that will test all machines on my network? With the free Windows Upgrade Advisor, I must visit each computer. Just looking for a way to do this without visiting each computer.

So my window always boots with low resolution mode. Therefore I rechecked base video, checked all boot settings permanent, applied, ok and then restarted the windows. OK. Windows is starting, that's ok yet. My screen resolution is normal. And then My startup programs started, after a few seconds, My screen resolution changed to low immediately. After XPMode working flawlessly, it is all of a sudden giving me errors. When I lanuch it, it takes a very long time, the green bar goes all the way till the end where it says "Starting the virtual machine", then it errors out stating, "Could not enable integration features". Nothing was changed. I cant use my XPMode applications either.

Intel 82801GH I/O Controller Hub (ICH7DH) SATA Controller in IDE mode. Windows 7, SP1, Home Premium, 32 bit. Plextor DVDR PX-L890A ATA Device. HD and CD-ROM both connected to black connectors on Intel D975XBX2 MoBo. BIOS set on default. With CD-ROM connected POST proceeds normally until it gets to "EB" test where it hangs for 2 minutes then proceeds to integrate with the OS. When integration complete, the CD-ROM and OS operate normally. If I disconnect the CD-ROM from the black connector, POST and integration proceed normally and rapidly.

Roxio Creator 2009 gives me a message that 'Remote Desktop is not supported by this application'. Not sure what RD has to do with Roxio but, I looked in Device Manager and have 3 yellow ? (like many others I've read) for Virtual PC Integration Device. I've tried to let XP find the drivers on it's own but it does not. I'm not even sure if this has anything to do with my problems running programs but assume it does.
So, are there drivers available for this Virtual PC device and if so where?
Also, what should I see under Display Driver? My video card is not listed but as I'm not a Virtual PC user, this might be normal.
You know how you can integrate service packs into windows and create an Windows installation disk with service packs included? Can you do the samething with Software programs like Office.....etc.
Is this a programmer thing? I know from my own system I can use a Ghost like program and create an image of my drive. I am not talking about that though. I am talking pure installation with programs pre-loaded on the disk to save time on haveing to install them.
Is there a software program out there that can do this?
Basically whenever i try to use windows media center to play a bluray disk, it automatically quits out of wmc and launched powerDVD, which is jarring and feels like a cheap hack.
is there any way to get bluray disks to lay inside wmc?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Ps3 controller as an alternative to an Xbox 360 controller on my PC (to play games with a gamepad) but in order to use my Ps3 controller as a makeshift 360 controller, I need test signing enabled.
Unfortunately with test signing enabled I get a big ugly watermark at the bottom right of my screen, as far as I know the only way to disable this is to disable test signing, otherwise it just won't leave! Is there any way I can get past this and somehow keep driver test signing enabled but get rid of that horrid watermark ruining my gorgeous wallpaper?
I also need to disable "safe mode with networking" option. Isn't there really another way except paying for an overpriced hack? (Disable Safe Mode)
