View 2 RepliesI have been receiving and installing updates to my Windows 7 computer for about a year now. So far there have been no problems. About mid year of 2011 I installed SQL Server 2005 Express. Not certain the problem I am having began then or later, like about November 2011.The problem is that Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 update will not install (file size 431.7MB), any ideas why? Does not appear to effect anything else as my computer appears to be running fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install some software. The installation goes smoothly until the last minute, when the installer tries to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable". This also works, but at the last minute it hangs with one second left to go, thus preventing me from installing the software at all. An error then pops up, saying: "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft. VC80.ATL,type="win32", version="8.0.50727.762", publicKey Token=" 1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010 but a window pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'vcredist' in the box below." I went to my C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP but it didn't work all it says is "The file 'C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. Try to find the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable." Mind you it does this for any version I try to uninstall So I rebooted and tried again but the Temp folder wasn't there which was to be expected but now I can't find any vcredist.msi on my computer and it does the same thing in safe mode

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have 64 bit Windows 7. I have been installing Visual Studio family 2008, SP1, 2010 and 2010 SP1. At the end of installation, I keep getting mini dump BSODs, and once the computer has rebooted the Visual Studio Installer shows the installation has failed due to a fatal error. I attached the minidump files in a zip folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had several BSOD since I bought my VAIO in May 2011 but it seemed they have dissapeared until today. I was doing a profiling with Intel VTUNE in order to count the failure access to the cache memory when the BSOD appeared.
I don't know if it's caused by a hardware problem or just software but I'm really worried about it because I need the computer to work.

How do I install SP1 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to my laptop? My Operating System is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is a 1 year old Toshiba Satellite. I've had this problem long enough to forget when it started. I haven't been able to complete a full Windows update because of this problem. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Win 7 Rc 64 bit and am running Visual Studio 2008 Pro
Version 9.0.30729.1 SP
Net Framework 3.5 SP1
And am running a few large apps.
The app shows 246MB memory used for devenv.exe *32 and
the same app on vista 32 bit machine shows 94mb used.
Needless to say, it is very slow.
Devenv.exe shows 19MB with no programs loaded on the Vista machine
And 58 MB on the Win7 Machine
The computer is a Lenovo, dual core 64 bit with 4GB RAM
The Vista machine is Shuttle Dual Core 32 bit with 4GB RAM
Any suggestions?
I'm heavily using Visual Studio 2010 (development environment for develop applications) all the day. To speed up my computer a little bit, I have added into my computer 8 gigabyte of RAM. My processor is a standard quad core. So my computer should be powerful enough to handle my requirements. Unfortunately, this isn't so. From time to time Visual Studio hangs, although my hardware should be good enough.
A possible reason for this could be the limitation for 32 bit applications. Visual Studio 2010 does not support out of the box a 64 bit compilation, so it is basically a 32 bit application. Is it possible to patch a 32 bit application (in my case VS 2010) to gain the same results as for a 64 bit compiled application?
We have used Compaq DVF 6.6 for many years and for many projects on win 2000 and XP 32 bit PC without problem. We encountered two problems with Compaq fortran developer studio after use windows 7 on 32bit desktop PC:

I tried fixing it but with no sucess at all. What I find wierd is that it says "processorArchitecture=amd64". I might be noob there, but Im using an i5 2500k.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my system I am using the following: Windows XP Professional SP3, Visual Basic 6 Enterprise Edition, and Crystal Reports XI Developers Edition. I also have quite a bit of other software. In previous reports I remember reading that VB6 will work with Windows 7 if "AERO" is NOT turned on. By the way, I never went to Vista and I DO NOT know the purpose or use of "AERO".Now that Windows 7 has "Windows XP Mode", is that statement still true? I do some development and maintenance of PC applications in VB6 and do not want to give it up.I would like to go with Windows 7. I have heard nothing but good reports. If VB6 or other related products are going to give me a problem, I just can't do it.
