OF THE BROWSER VISUAL EXPLORER YOU SAID "We Liked It So Much We Made It Our Default Browser"... why on WINDOWS 7 Home Premium it is so susceptible to FREEZING out while using Facebook and other applications?

Explorer) to use one visual look.meaning:all use Details.all use the same columns (Name, Size, Type).all with the same column widths.It would be nice to set all current folders like this, and have any newly created folders to default to this.I would like to be able to temporarily change the view using the normal methods of changing folder view, but for these changes to not stick around.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Windows 7 RC1 I have noticed that fairly often when I minimize or close various windows they freeze partway through fading out. The system is still usable but those frozen windows stay on top for 5-15 seconds. The taskbar shows them as being closed yet they are faded into the background. I will try to get a screenshot later tonight but I am at work right now. All drivers installed OK automatically and the video card(s) are seen ok.
I wouldn't imagine it is a hardware problem.

Any thoughts? It's not a deal-breaker for using RC1 but it sure is annoying. Besides, RC1 fixed the beta issue where Winamp visualizations would freeze for 5 sec between song changes, which is a huge deal to me.
i am using windows 7 ultimate and 2 day ago i updated windows, and installed internet explorer 9 updates too, and then ie is out of service, whenever i click ie, it opens but suddenly crashes and doesnt respond, so i close program, again and again...i run Malwarebyte , there is no malware spyware or virus, but when i run iexplore.exe -extoff and start like that -without extensions- it starts as usual, without any problem,

Every short once in a while, only when I open my primary partition Drive C, explorer.exe freezes and the only way out is to close it.I have no idea why this occurs, and can only really tell that this closing also takes an enormous amount of time.
For a long time now, I've been having issues with Explorer.exe and the built in apps (cmd, notepad, not wordpad interestingly) freezing when I type anything. Now, this only happens when I first boot up my computer, for the first 10 minutes or so. During this time I'm reduced to using Chrome to surf the web or making batch files to run commands.I know for a fact that this is not an issue with my keyboard. I tried using the on-screen keyboard, and when I manually type stuff in with my mouse it will still freeze. I'm pretty sure it also happens when I boot into safe mode, but I'll check to be sure. [Update- looks like it doesn't happen when I boot into safe mode]

I also have quite a bit of other software.In previous reports I remember reading that VB6 will work with Windows 7 if "AERO" is NOT turned on. By the way, I never went to Vista and I DO NOT know the purpose or use of "AERO".Now that Windows 7 has "Windows XP Mode", is that statement still true? I do some development and maintenance of PC applications in VB6 and do not want to give it up.I would like to go with Windows 7. I have heard nothing but good reports. If VB6 or other related products are going to give me a problem, I just can't do it.

I cannot afford a new computer right now and my current Dell Computer(10 years old) had reached it's max storage and would not even boot up except in safe mode. My brother was helping me remotely to try and fix it and he ended up wiping everything I had not been able to back up. He also installed W7 without asking me (he meant well). The main problems I am having are visual. All my games...both on and off line..are blurry and distorted. I am no longer able to play solitaire or MSN Texas Holdem because the visual distortion is so annoying it hurts my eyes and ruins the game for me. I tried to revert back to XP but the visual changes are apparently permanent. As I cannot purchase a new computer at this time, I need some help to see if I can adjust my visual settings. Also, while I have been able to find a font that works reasonably well with W7, somesites are still difficult to read as the font seems faded out.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I boot my PC now, Windows' visual transitions (screen fades, maximizing / minimizing, opening / closing windows, etc) go at like 1/4 speed. It's annoying and slows things down (everything else is fine though). "Restarting" from the start menu fixes it, but shutting down and booting up again does not. I know I can just shut them off. But this is a recent build and I want to know what's wrong. This seemed to start happening out of nowhere.

Visual changes include:
frame transparency
padding size
and other registry operation
I updated to Windows 7 a few days ago and since then, the screen has been doing weird things. It gets distorted for no apparent reason and sometimes fixes itself. I've attached 2 examples. It usually affects the title bar but also affects the entire screen sometimes. If I minimize the window, it usually improves it but nothing makes it go away completely.

I've disabled UAC, patched the system files, taken ownership of the files in System32 and in SysWOW64, and replaced the files with the ones I want after adding a .old extension to the ones that I want to replace, but nothing changes. The only changes that I see are from the theme files that I used. This has happened consistently with the five or six themes that I've tried.

One USB device on my desktop computer running Win 7 professional does not work. Maintenance service told me that they cannot repair dysfunctional USB because it is build into the case (chassis). But one dysfunctional USB is not a problem at all, because I have 7 other USB slots operating normally. Anyway, now I am getting non-stop notifications of this non-problem!!! Why? The frequency is sometimes very high and always extremely annoying: it varies greatly, it can be between 5-10 per minute. Aural notifications have this annoying sound and visual notifications are popping up in a sizable cloud in bottom right corner of a screen and are lingering there for far too long, and when I click to close it, it pops back immediately. This is a spoiler (I could tolerate one or two dysfunctional notification a day). It is bothering me visually and aurally, greatly diminishing my user experience, disturbing my work, my listening to the music and watching the pictures or movies. After much tinkering I succeeded to turn off sound notification (via Sounds customization), but I cannot turn off visual notifications. I cannot customize Notification area icons - when I try to "Hide icons and notifications" in category Windows explorer where there is this unwanted visual message USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED and click OK, it does not work, because it pops up again immediately - next time I check Notification area icons customization this category is back to "Only show notifications" although I changed it to "Hide".
