I was wondering if i could use windows 7 on multiple systems? Im about to order the 64 bit edition for my current system but in 6-7 months ill be building a new system.could i use the same disc ?
View 16 RepliesWe have three medical clinics and the front desk staff float from clinic to clinic depending on their schedule. I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems.The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening.My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
i recently installed windows 7 pro after having vista for a while. Ive noticed i have somehow managed to install 2 windows7's onto my HDD, and my windows vista is still there, just wondering how i completely get rid of vista and only have 1 windows 7 installed

Far as I know from my benchmarks the hardisk is faster in the first partition (first 20 GB), that would be the xp partition, fast in the second one (from 20 to 50 gb) after this the speed is decreasing.I am using windows xp because Photoshop and some games seem's to be far more resposive and faster than in windows 7, and I use windows 7 for internet related & other stuff

PROBLEM: I have thousands of PDFs in hundreds of folders. When I go to a particular folder, I use the slider to change the Explorer views from "Content" to "Extra Large Icons" but cannot get a thumbnail preview of the PDFs - all I see is an Acrobat Icon preview.I know that this is an issue on the X64-bit verson of Windows 7, but I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 (Ultimate)! ATTEMPTS: I've tried several ways to resolve this but nothing worked so far. Specifically, I: 1. Made sure that the File Type Associations are correct.2.Unchecked Folder options>View>"Always show icons, never thumbnails".3. Made sure that Folder options>View> "Display file icon on thumbnails" is checked.4.Made sure that Performance>Settings>"Show thumbnails instead of icons" is checked.5. Tried the simple method suggessted at other forums: going into Adobe and opening the directory to preview the files as thumbnails from there and then refreshing the folder in Windows Explorer to display a thumbnail preview of the PDF file - Didn't work either!6. Ran "Repair Acrobat Installation".7. Uninstalled and Reinstalled Acrobat 9 (including associated registry files).8. Installed the latest version of Reader.9. It came with a Windows 7 disk that says it can only be used with the ZT Systems computer (that was stolen). I am now building a new computer and I am wondering if I can use the Windows 7 disk from the ZT systems computer in my new computer. 2) mobile broad band Microsoft provided default application .
this issue happens only with company application. we have compared data in requests send by cm and mobile broadband but no difference.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhave a network[s] that is almost all wireless with 2 windows 7 clients [ultimate x64 and home premium x64] and two, sometimes 3 windows xp systems, a vista system, phones, etc. Something changed recently and resulted in the Windows 7 Ultimate system losing visibility to the main win xpp system.
- previously, I could share files between those two, mainly through the 'shared' and 'public' folders. Now I cannot pickup the XPP systems at all from either Windows 7 System.
- The only significant change I can think of is that I added a Windows 7 Home Premium system to the mix, 'joining' the Homegroup that had already been established on the Ulitmate rig. I did not setup any new Homegroup via the Home Premium notebook.
- Another thing that puzzles me: the Ultimate system identifies its network connection by the name of the Windows XPP established network - Mshome2. The notebook identifies the same network by the Wireless AP name. I'm wondering if that amounts to the "same" network as Windows 7 identifies such, or to those systems are these indeed two 'different' networks, howbeit operated by the same routers?
- The two Windows 7 systems can see/access one another. I turned 'On' Media streaming and Media sharing on both of the Windows 7 systems.
- From the XPP systems I can pickup the Windows 7 Ultimate rig but I have not setup a separate Login for it.
- From the XPP systems I do not see the Windows 7 Home Premium system at all. The XPP systems are networked by the same Wireless AP as the Windows 7 system.
I am trying to get my wife's new computer up and running without any BSOD or program failures. Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 pro 64 bit on a WD 500 gig Sata Hard Drive, The other day I pulled the sata cable from the 500 gig sata and installed a samsung 250 gig SSD and loaded win 8 pro. The install went great. The problem is when I connect the sata cable back to the 500 gig HD to boot to win 7 I have to hook to a different slot on the motherboard to get it to boot. If I want to boot to the win 8 hard drive I have to do the same. If there a easier way to use two hard drives with two different OS in one computer so I can boot to either one. I dont want to dual boot on same drive.
